But this summer is just so poor in terms of available top strikers.On Topic:- I have watched our games this season and we seem to attack by spreading the ball to the wide men, waiting for them to beat their man, and then crossing or shooting. If it doesn't work, then we pass to ivanovic to cross, or we just shoot from distance. And worse of all, we do all this too slowly. Terrible tempo. Its too simple to defend against, no combinations, I don't even see the small passing triangles I saw in the beginning of the season. No 1-2's, no link up between teammates and rare team play. These are things practiced on the training ground. That's why even southampton players can look excellent when attacking, because their average players practice movements in training. I think we don't do enough team combinations and it's made us look like we are over thinking in attack, slow and predictable against teams that defend deep. I hope we get this fixed next season.

To control the ball in tight spaces between 2-3markers and get a shot off is (benzema, suarez, messi, balloteli, rossi, aguero, falcao, lewandoski)I'm also worried that costa won't do what jose wants

I'm going to put out an unpopular opinion... What if the reason why mourinho doesn't let azpilicueta move forward like ivanovic is because of Terry. I mean look at it, if we lose the ball why iva is still upfront, cahill has enough speed to follow up a striker. But Terry won't be able to run back like say ramos and pepe to catch up. Could this be why azpi doesn't move forward and will a faster, composed, solid defender finally let mourinho release azpi from his shackles??

You started talking after reading diego torres hatred book on mourinho. Since you read that book your opinion on mourinho has drastically changed IMO. But that's just me.....

This could be one of the reasons oscar lost form. Mourinho changed our tactics after we lost to sunderland in the league cup, exactly around the new year. This must have been part of the reason.

Exactly as I thought. He did this after we lost to sunderland in the carling cup in december. We were scoring more goals but conceding a lot in the process, so we were losing points and too close to 5th. But next season we have to try and build properly now we have foundations of a good back line. I hope he's having plans of total attack/ total defense with the left back supporting hazard at every chance when attacking so that hazard can't come out and say he's left to attack all alone again.

Hazard made a mistake when he said "I do it all on my own" it make the teammates feel somehow, but I get your point. What you don't like about mourinho is that he'll say anything to prevent the blame from falling on his shoulders. I don't see it that way but I get where your coming from. As for hazard talking about us preferring a counter attack style, I'm happy that came out publicly. Because I want mou to be serious about improving our possession play. Even if it means copying part of people system in possession, ours just has to be better than it is. When jose's comments about our strikers and eto's age came out, I said it'll make our strikers wake up, and it showed. (If you notice since jose said that, our strikers have scored a lot more goals) So I'm hoping that hazard quote will have the same impact that jose's striker comments had on us, but this time on our possession play. This way we can progress to be like athletico, good in possession, excellent in defending and counter. And then we finally become complete like bayern last season which was good in possession, counter, pressing and defending.

Don't worry, they are used to mourinho stating things as they are. Especially after the strikers criticism got leaked. They know him well, he speaks his mind. What I'm worried about is if PSG use this as a point to twist hazards head and try to get him out of chelsea.

That second season we let too many experienced players leave and ended up with a weak squad. Plays like machecren, kakuta, and so on were regulars on the squad. I don't blame ancelloti at all for that. I also had a feeling he was under internal pressure because of the flop torres purchase. He deserved to stay at least another season. I didn't complain about any manager sacking as much as this one.

Exactly this.We have to attack together and defend together. Most of the season, we only defend together and attack with the front four and ivanovic. That's not enough again. We need to learn from bayern last season, total attack/ total defence. They broke goal scoring record and best defensive record in the same season. That's the pinnacle of how football should be played. Mourinho started to make us stable from the back, so next season, he'll have to concentrate on attack completely (even though it took longer than I thought)

Basically says willian is better defensively than hazard. Nothing to worry about then
