Fabregas played so well in the first half when messi was injured. Barcelona were topping the table with martino's more direct style. They hadn't lost a match till december, fabregas had 9 assists and was topping all leagues in assists made, everything was perfect then messi returned from injury. Even sanchez/pedro/neymar dropped form after messi came back. Why the barca fans picked on fabregas for their fall because he's not their new xavi style player, I don't know.

Lukaku just scores goals, is confident in his ability like all good strikers are, and is still young enough to develop further. I think its time to put some faith in him, especially in the first half of the season where we are in all competitions with lots of matches to play and incase costa gets injured. We can't afford being forced to play torres once again.

Hopefully he gets a more free role for us next season and gets his consistency going. That end of last season where he didn't play most of our last matches could have helped him get some much needed rest he hasn't got for 2 years since the olympics.

I wanted to ask something, in the match yesterday, oscar played mostly on the wings. And he excelled brilliantly because he beat his man and could deliver fantastic crosses in dangerous areas for brazil. In the attacking midfield, more quick one-twos and through balls create the most chances, but this is not exactly oscars strong point. So do you think oscar is better off staying in the wings when attacking??

I saw some stats somewhere that we had little to no through passes the entire last season. That meant when opponents sit deep, we could only pass wide and cross in or try to dribble. But now with Fabregas, he is a master at through passes straight to the striker from deep, whether chipped or low. And he is a damn good finisher from midfield, can initiate our counters with one long pass to hazard upfront. No longer we have to hope ramires to see schurle making the run or hope mikel to pass forward quickly. But now we have a linchpin passer and spanish vision to replicate koke passes to costa. (Exciting times ahead )
