I know where you are coming from. I said a few months back I wouldnt mind taking a few steps backward if we were to do it the right way. If we are to be "self sufficient" we're going to have to bring on those players like Stoch, Mancienne, Kakuta, etc...and if that benefits the club in the long term then I havent a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is Grants potential return. Its a no brainer imo. Dont do it ffs.

For talks sake say Grant returns.....we dont qualify for the CL....and possibly out of europe altogether. Where do we go from here?

Whoever suggested Grant to Roman needs a sushi lunch. We're an angry bunch, we need someone we can put our faith in to get the fans right behind the club again. Its complete madness. They appointed him in the first place so it wont surprise me if they do it again.

Its not that case of him returning, its him potentially returning alone that worries me most. I still insist that it was Clarke who made the appointment of Grant originally look better than it actually was in the end.

You'd think that with someone like Rijkaard who's out of work and interested in the job that they'd consider him. He can at least come in and have a look till the summer and see what he would need to change things around. Having someone come in as caretaker manager and then changing it around again in the summer would be nothing more than a hindrance imo.

Just on SSN....2 names on the shortlist and thats Hiddink and Grant. One of which will be named within the next 24 hours. They had Kerry Dixon on 5-Live earlier, I'm not sure if it was him who said it or not, but a quote from Scolari was used when he first arrived at Chelsea. "I dont care if I get the sack, I will get another job......" (something along those lines) They then went on to have digs at him stating that this sort of comment showed the drive he had to make himself a success at Chelsea........Hardly inspiring.

On 5-Live they were saying Zola wont come...apparently West Ham are releasing a statement on their club website stating this. Hiddink also looks unlikely as he's in the middle of a WC campaign and RA would not be made welcome back in Russia if he took him away from the national side. Mancini is the only decent manager out there who'd out of work at present.

In fairness Grant was a garde "A" muppet. Clarke was the man who deserves the credit for last season. If Grant is such a good manager then why has he not been snapped up by someone else. He's been on the scrapheap for a reason. He's shite. If we bring him back we'll be even more of a laughing stock.

IF......and that a massive if Jose was to return a few things would have to happen. By reinstating Jose, Abramovich would be publically admitting he was wrong in the first place to get rid of him. That would put Jose in a very strong position in that he would demand to do things his way and with no one poking their nose in. Or.... Jose would have to bite the bullet and go with the way Abramovich wants to run things. BAsically he'd be back where he was when he left. I cant see either happening if I'm honest.

Failure is the only option atm I'm afraid. The league is as good as gone, the CL is an accident waiting to happen. As for the FA Cup......The only realistic chance we have of winning anything this season. I cant even see us winning that.

I hate making comparisons to Jose, but he would have had Mikel off on 30 minutes, Drogba pushed on and basically went 4-2-4 looking to get the goal needed to get the points asap and then adapt his tactics for the remainder of the game. Scolari is frightened imo to take chances. He has to realise that sitting back hoping for something to happen is not going to work. Its worked once or twice for him, Stoke being the prime example.

I'm not that keen on the home top if I'm honest. I dont like that patch work style flow it has. The collar looks like it'll roll over and look a mess after a few weeks of wear and tear. 3/10
