I heard on the radio that when the players arrived at the ground Drogba was missing from the 16 man squad. Read into that what you want. They also mentioned that the bench will be quite a few of the youth players, if true, I'd like to see them get a run out today if we're sitting comfortable.

Scolari : If you don't love club, leave

Maybe its his way of letting the players know that if they dont start performing he wont think twice about showing them the door. -
He's a cracking wee player. I'd love to see him sign for us. Just think of all those Hammers fans steaming from the ears. They idolise the bloke

Daily Mail QUOTE Manchester United favourite Tevez 'set to join Luis Fabiano' in new Chelsea attack Chelsea are ready to overhaul their forward line by bringing in Carlos Tevez and Luis Fabiano, according to reports. The Blues are said to be lining up the summer signing of Manchester United fans' favourite Tevez and hope to land him for about £20million. The 24-year-old is owned by a group of overseas foreign investors and is coming to the end of a two-year loan deal at Old Trafford. The Barclays Premier League champions are yet to invoke a pre-agreed fee of about £32m to make the signing permanent and Chelsea have joined Real Madrid in registering their interest in the Argentina striker, according to the Daily Star. His international coach Diego Maradona earlier this week said Tevez was getting closer to an Old Trafford exit and urged him to join Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan. Reports also suggest Fabiano is 'almost certain' to arrive at Stamford Bridge in the summer after long being linked to the club. The 28-year-old Brazil and Sevilla hot-shot could be available for about £15m. The moves would indicate that Chelsea are prepared to sell Didier Drogba after finally losing patience with the Ivory Coast international.

Its a bit hypocritical considering we were doing exactly the same thing not so long ago. Ok it wasnt to the extreme that City are doing it, but we were spending money that dwarfed anything spent by a club in the past.
-
Pretty comfortable in the end. I'm just glad we got a win for a change. Hopefully it'll set a bit of confidence back within the squad and get us playing like we know we can.

Agree.....Anelka is wandering all over the place looking for the ball. We need someone in the box.
-
Hmmmmmm......So bloody frustrating to watch. I'm just glad we scored when we did. Had we went in at half time 1-0 down I really think we'd have struggled to get back into it. Bosingwa has the beating of their left back and he continues to cut inside. When he did decide to go past him he put in some dangerous balls. We need to get out wide and make their defenders face the goal. Thier intent on getting everyone behind the ball so it going to be another frustrating 45 minutes. WTF was Alex doing when they scored. He should have atacked the ball and put it out of harms way. Shocking defending.

Riccy and Jt have done the same thing loads of times.......the one that comes to mind instantly is against Bacelona a few years back when Riccy impeded the goalkeeper for JT's goal.
-
I think the main reason he has been dropped is because he's had a few chances to play and hasnt done the business. Anelkas form till Drogba came back was very good and he did score the majority of his goals in away fixtures, so imo its only right that Anelka gets a shot upfront once again.

We've been dragging our heels the last few months were results are concerned, I know one day we'll click and explode on someone. Hopefully tonight we'll finally get our finger out.
-
If someone had bid for him in the summer he would have been off, but no-one came in with a solid bid and I think that pissed him off slightly. His ego took a massive blow and its served him right. If he played as well as he talked we'd be better off for it.

I just saw on SSN that Scolari has came out and said he knows he has to change things around to get our season back on track. He is willing to look at every detail to sort out the mess we are in. We will go back to the drawing board and start from scratch with tactics, training, etc..... I'm glad he has finally came out and said this as we've been desperate for him to finally swallow some pride and accept that his initial plans have backfired. Could this be the turning point in the season? Probably not....but we still dream.

Possible solution - Sack Kenyon
Aesthetic Relic replied to diskoviolente's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Kenyon is RA's puppet. End of story. -
In all fairness to Drogba, he had no service whatsoever on Sunday against Manu. He's still trying to get back into the groove in front of goal after his injury, but if he wants to go I wouldnt stand in his way.
-
My opinion hasnt changed. Scolari has came in and changed the whole set up of the coaching/training/tactics etc....Who else is to blame? The general feel about Grants time in charge is that the players and Steve Clarke carried the team through the season. If he is such a great manager then why hasnt any big European Club appointed him as manager? Answers on a postcard.....
-
He's not the same player we saw last season. I reckon Moscow has fried his noggin.
-
Just thinking back....... Do you realise our best chance of a goal was an effort by Drogba that went out for a throw in? Thats how bad we were. If I dont laugh I'll cry.

I know what every Chelsea fan is thinking right now

I was thinking I need to get more cigarettes -
Wear your gear with pride. Its not your fault the manager is a muppet and the team have as much heart as the tin man.
