I simply dont like Bertrand as LW. I much prefer Marin or Moses. I will wait until the game to judge though...

Can Chelsea play with a false #9 like Barcelona?
Rmpr replied to BOSS's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No it is not, what you explain as a false nine is a simple movement most great strikers (#9) do. You basically discribed a striker with a lot of movement, the false nine is more than that, he has a different mentality and objective. Ronaldo did it quite frequently, is he a false nine? Suarez? Aguero? False nine is actually someone who most of the time composes the AM line (do not know if that is the right term). Messi and Neymar are more outside the penalty box draging defenders than inside the box waiting for a service. -
@Innarelli, why do you have Messi with Chelsea shirt on your avatar? WTF? SERIOUSLY?

4. Adriano is not near as important as Willian and Fernandinho.

Guus Hiddink to retire at the end of the season
Rmpr replied to Milan's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Fantstic coach: 1998 WC Semis - Holland 2002 WC Semis - South Korea 2009 - Chelsea (saved our season and deserved to go to Rome) 2012 - Anzhi (2nd place, 3 behind CSKA) -
Yes, in my backyard I do this quite frequently, not agaist Argentina though (have to count the rivalry). He does this quite frequently, I can find about 10 different games he has done it. I dont think Berbatov is one of the classiest strikers, not even close. This is what I would compare to rank him that high: Falcao, Cavani, Lewandoski, Huntelaar, RVP, Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko, Torres (Liverpool), Benzema, etc. Damiao does look like a donky, lol. I dont rate him, it is clear reading my posts... Btw, it was just a comparison to give an idea of what type of player he was. All I was saying is that he knows how to score (Berba), but he also has speed and ability (Hernandez). He can get the job done and has mobility, nothing special though. I wouldnt want any of the 3 in CFC, I want a top5 striker (Falcao, Cavani, Dzeko, etc).
-
Bernard is really really small and weak, even for Brazilian standards. He had amazing performances througout the course of the season (doing and exceptional partneship with Ronaldinho), BUT he was never praised as one of our top, top qualitity young promissing stars (Oscar, Neymar, Lucas, etc). He can actually play as a Winger, as an Advanced Midfield or as an Attacker. Bernard is definetly fast, skilled and has vision. The problem is that he cant shoot.........Robinho anyone? We must stop only buying Brazilians just because they are Brazilians. Just because Oscar came here and rock everybody off their feet it does not mean he will too. I dont think we need that type of player, it would be way more important for us to buy a DM + ST. Even if we needed that type of player and we want it to be Brazilian, buy Willian. He is clearly a better player!
-
Ask Berba to do this then...
-
No one Manure hasnt already bought...
-
There is a reason why Brazil does not play with a true striker. It is because we dont have a great player like we used to have (Ronaldo, Romario, Careca, Roberto Dinamite, etc). Mano Menezes wasnt even calling Damiao for the backup position, he was calling Fred. Damiao is Hernandez with a header and/or Berbatov with more skills... In the end, I was right about Willian, so...
-
We need movement... The problem is not that he is playing LW, it is he is not changing position with Mata and Oscar frequently. Oscar does not feel comfortable at the sideline (one of the reasons I think Moses should be in our attackin trio and not him), so he barely get out of the middle and Mata is more preocupied with the right side. We need mobility and short passes. We dont have mobility and our short passes always get stuck without penetration because of Torres. Look at CR7, Ozil, Di Maria and Benzema movements, for instance.

@, I cant take you serious with that new avatar...

Great post mate! I agree with everything you just said, except the lines I quoted. Like I said many times, we dont need to back the manager in order to support the team. However, the booing inside our own stadium can only harm the team. It does affect the players mentality (even if they know it is not directed to them). They can start ignoring Benitez or they can feel uncomfortable, opponents might get excited, etc. Anything that might be harmful to the team I am totally against. About Roman, he has his problems and he did not respected the fans in some events (Wilkins and Benitez), but that is about it. No Board from a big Club actually cares about the fans, just like no manager listens to the fans. Abramovich thinks solely about the capacity and performance and if we look carefully at the facts, it was the best decision. I vahe a very angry feeling about RDM treatment and he will always be a legend, but he was indeed making some amateurs mistakes. I personally think he would thrive with proper time. It was very wrong (specially because there was nobody on the market), but we cant go back in time. I find it stupid to want him out (I dont know how you feel about it). We definetly dont have to agree with him, although, he is still better than any other owner we would get. EDIT: I have come to understand the booing now that I have talked to some hardcore fans, but I still wouldnt do it.
