Good post. Other teams fans took the piss when we were languishing in the 2nd half of Div 2 , saw us as the mighty fallen, - but not when they had to clean up and lick their wounds after we had 'visited'. As for that 1935 game CM how very impudent young man. I'm not nearly old enough to have attended. However my first game 1936 season against Jackie Milburns Leeds, there was a right old fracas as the Leeds 'Flying Scotsman Crew' tried to attack us, a scruffy mob getting halfpenny transfers to the 'benches'. Needless to say the Northern Pie Eaters were repulsed by us Chelsea 'Flat Cap Hunters'. The Leeds 'Flat Cappers' who were losing 2-0 then tried a dastardly trick of game abandonment, here seen being restrained by 'the Old William' http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/2667361.jpg...55A1E4F32AD3138

Happy Birthday !

Interesting Tri Blue about McCleish being Fergusons ally. Arsenals luck was against them with Brum, and West Ham won there as well. Fairly certain Anelka will open his account this game, and 3 points bagged.

He seems to have recovered;

WARSAW (Reuters) - A Polish man got the shock of his life when he visited a brothel and spotted his wife among the establishment's employees. Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town. "I was dumfounded. I thought I was dreaming," the husband told the newspaper on Wednesday. The couple, married for 14 years, are now divorcing, the newspaper reported. Breaking News Anelka Has Signed

Although countless players say 'its my last club' etc ,hes not worthy of 'Le Sulk' tag anymore. Definitely matured. Does Avram know he converted to Islam in Turkey ? -
Chelsea captain John Terry's recuperation from a broken foot has progressed so well he hopes to be playing again before the end of the month. Daily Telegraph

Breaking News Anelka Has Signed
Fulham Broadway replied to oxfordblues's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Dont think he'll be around much if his track records anything to go by, and hes more a loner than a team player. That said some of the deadliest striker assassins have been iof that mould. Cantona, Ruud etc. Hes said his aim is to win the CL this year. If he helps us win Chelsea our first CL or the PL his name will go down in Chelsea history though. -
Surely Stoch is due a run out any time soon ?

Potential 2007/8 Honours Update

..and the good thing is when Drogba, Essien , Lampard return -though maybe not JT so much, they'll have to fight for their places a bit thus raising their game. -
Its a nice problem to have, and Makalele might not be around much longer. As long as players realise that they'll play on merit and current form, and accept it, then it shouldn't be a problem.
-
Good point Aroop, SWPs sliding tackles are judged to perfection -but often it's because hes just lost the ball. But with Beletti, SWP and Joe Cole all performing well we can overhaul United or take any leaders to teh wire.

Mikel: I Am Not A Monster
Fulham Broadway replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He's a bit reckless, but more than likely refs are being racist because hes very, very black and it brings out all their stereotype fears. -
Perhaps he has ''Special'' dispensation being a ginger 'and all

This should be done and dusted soonish - I know it's Tribal but they have to get something right one day ''Lokomotiv Moscow defender Branislav Ivanovic is expected to sign for Chelsea today. Sport Express says Chelsea are confident of securing the Serbia international's work permit today after battling through the courts. Ivanovic hasn't played 75 per cent of Serbia's recent internationals and so doesn't automatically qualify for a UK work permit. However, Chelsea are confident they've successfully argued Ivanovic is an "exceptional talent" and will receive a positive ruling today''

Potential 2007/8 Honours Update
Fulham Broadway replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I know its a bit of 'if me aunty had bollocks she'd be me uncle' but...... if we'd better results earlier on against the Arse and Man United we'd be sitting at the top of the pile this morning. -

Well I would have thought so. Though they can fuck up away from home quite easily. -
Potential 2007/8 Honours Update

Chasing two is definitely more of an ask than one, but it's only four points and considering what a shambles the start of the season was, compounded with the injuries, it's definitely game on. -
ooooh its lovely. I think Kenyon, if he had any marketing bollocks and know how, should change the shirt for every game. There'd be enough mugs to buy them, and surely we could fit another 8-10 sponsors on it ?

Potential 2007/8 Honours Update
Fulham Broadway replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Yup it's a Quad season, I can feel it . As far as the other two contenders are concerned in the league, they've both shown they can slip up. Arsenal this week, United against West Ham. Its important we keep up the pressure. -
It definitely makes sense playing SWP in the middle causes all sorts of problems. Before anyone gives Grant credit, Mourinho was already trying this out. His tackling is getting as good as Essiens as well.

Breaking News Anelka Has Signed
Fulham Broadway replied to oxfordblues's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
An inspired signing -though I had him transferred last week on FIFA. Could be instrumental in any honours we now pick up this season. Bit of footballing history too, has over taken Veron as the most expensive transferred player ever. Around £85 million ! Nice bit of work for his agent too -at a conservative estimate of 10%, that means his agent has picked up at least £8.5 million for a few phone calls. -
Didier Drogba started his first game since a knee operation last month and scored in Ivory Coast's 2-0 African Nations Cup warm-up win over Kuwait in Kuwait City on Saturday. Drogba, who came on as a substitute last week for his English club Chelsea in his first match back after a month-long lay-off, got the second goal of the game. It was the African footballer of the year's 30th goal for the Ivorians in 47 international appearances. His Chelsea team-mate Salomon Kalou had opened the scoring six minutes earlier for the team coached by Frenchman Gerard Gili, who replaced German Uli Stielike last Monday. Reuters
