For sure but every reason presented so far sounds weak… - had different transfer targets … yeah and rightly so. We can thank TT for years for us not having signed Kounde or Ronaldo - did not respond the to WhatsApp messages… many ppl don’t, just give him a call - the new ownership wanted their own man…. Understandable but when you have one of the best coaches in the world maybe give him a proper try first - disconnect with the players … the gravest one but I think that one gets blown out of proportion. He still looked on good terms with the most Important ones. There are always a few rotten apples - terrible football and lack of motivation. Surely a bigger deal but we had such a slump under Sarri as well and somehow pulled thru. Players are spoilt brats these days but when you think you only get them back to speed with hiring a new manager you are only kicking the cab down the road Truth is we were never gonna challenge for the PL title with city still going this strong for the next few years. With or without TT. But if I had to pick one manager to deliver consistent top 4 finishes and maximize the cup runs it would be TT. Potter is a far bigger downside risk with no added upside.

NE, NYC at the moment but gonna looking for something less dirty and crowded in the mid term . Compared to London, Frankfurt, Madrid where lived as a elk NYc is quite a fall off in terms of quality of life. But the ppl are nice and the museums are great. I guess it’s still better than Brighton where the seagulls are constantly stealing your fish and chips so at least Potter is making a step up. 😄

Wow…so much has happened these last few days. I recently moved to the US so did not really check any news for a few days. Today I opened my phone and learned we sacked Thomas Tuchel, the Queen had died and we had appointed Graham Potter as new manager, in one instant. A new world we live in now and I don’t know what to think of it yet. As for TT I am gutted to see him leave albeit I admit we had been torrid to watch not only this season but for almost a year now. Basically ever since we thumped Juve. That being said I hate this endless quest for beautiful football. I want to see us win no matter how. If that is even one reason for his sacking then our new owners are even more clueless than we thought. TT deserves nothing but respect. I hated to see fans insulting him the last weeks in the wake of our bad form. When he took over we were shambles yet he won us the CL just months later. No other manager in the world could have done this with the squad we had. None. It was a superhuman feat and TT deserves all the credit. He also took a weakened squad to make us world champions for the first time. Two of our biggest achievements as a club. moreover, when Roman was forced to sell the club, TT was the one holding it together. His professional, dignified demeaned was what resonated during that time and gave us stability. The loyalty he showed goes beyond his ability as a manager. The fans loved him and the he bond will last hopefully. But despite having grown a lot as a person since leaving Germany where he was perceived as a brilliant but coldhearted Football professor, TT has remained a difficult character apparently. Our new owners are either indeed very stupid or TT was so much of a pain to deal with that there was no other option. Despite the assurances of a new era, I fear for Potter. What are these assurances of patience worth if the new owners are not even patient enough to establish a mutually satisfying way of communication with the one of the best coaches in the world. TT remains the only top level manager to never have been sacked bc of results but 3 times bc he did not get along with his superiors. potter is an absolute fortune cookie.he is a brilliant coach for an underdog side, possibly the best but never has an English coach won the PL iirc and none even has won a major trophy for ages now, the last probably being Bobby robson. Will potter be the one to Change it? I strongly doubt it but we will see. I am willing to give this a chance but can’t help to feel like we are heading full throttle to the abyss.

Has hardly played due to injury. Jury still out

Paulo was a True gentleman on and off the pitch. Great in his prime, important part of that greatest ever PL defence but became a liability after hitting 30 just like Ivanovic and Azpi more lately. deco was the bigger name which is probably what the statement is referring to. I liked deco tho bc he had much better chemistry with Lampard than Ballack had while offering something different. Was already declining tho when he joined us at 31 for 10m I think. Nowadays they would probably have quoted us 30
-
Yeah he still had a bit of pace left which I hope will also be the case for auba but etoo was wildly inconsistent and missed a ton of big chances throughout broja signing that 6 y deal has made me hopeful there Auba is not planned as a starter week in week out for more than a few months
-
Reus is such a sad case of case of I juries and the wrong move ruining a career. Imo the most talented German player of his generation
-
He is so slow the whole video is just him walking up a dozen stairs lol
-
Bellingham is an amazing talent. Creative and still resolute. Would be gutted to see him at Liverpool but I fear it’s inevitable What I find most interesting about dortmunds game is the brilliant football they are playing despite having a poor man’s Lukaku up front in modeste who looks completely useless and isolated
-
Well we bought or loaned a ton of strikers in the past years since Drogba left... Etoo, Ba, Costa, Falcao, Pato, Higuain, Giroud, Morata, Werner, Lukaku, now PEA only Costa and Giroud were succesful. the real big disappointments were ofc the big money ones, morata, werner, lukaku. all were at or approaching their prime. Auba as you say is more in the higuain, falcao mold. I guess you never know yet the club keeps rolling the dice hoping to hit the jackpot at some point... I really would prefer us to refrain from this short termism. Honestly there is notmuch I see what Auba will add. He might even scare away Broja. I understand why we sold Tammy but while Broja is still raw he clearly has more talent and a higher ceiling. I would much rather go through his development with him than wast ethe money and more importantly the minutes on someone who has no future.
-
Actually am a little excited about seeing him in PL. He was one of the top 3 DMs in Bundesliga and almost joined Bayern twice. I wanted us to sign him back in 2019. His stats suggest that he did indeed not fall off a cliff completely following his injury. In fact he pretty much still delivered that 7/10 every game he played but he just was handed down the pecking order by the signature of Pogba, Paredes while there are still rabiot and Locatelli at Juve... He might not have developed into a huge version of Kante as I had hoped but he might still very well be a very fast version of Mikel which I would be totally fine with. It will be interesting whether he even gets enough game time to regain his rhythm and confidence, if he does he will be a great addition, if not we have not committed any resources so overall great deal.
-
6 years to late but better late than never I guess. Will be interestingwhat tis signing does to the squad. I hope PEA can be a leader and show our misfiring attackers how its done.
-
Depay would have been overkill anyway imo apparently Barca failed to terminate his contract in time while he was pushing for a move
-
Never been a fan of billy but he is worth way more than we got for him. Really should have held out for more after how they shafted us for cucu
-
Caleta car close to joining Southampton they are building a powerhouse defence
-
It is obviously not as bad as feared. If he did not have any surgery and there was no realignment of the bone necessary it will just heal from itself and he will probably be fine in 2 or3 weeks latest. It is crazy how many Barca players have been victims to assault and robbery in recent years anyway
-
Lol no. But he can talk just fine. You only talk gibberish with a full jaw fracture
-
Ours is by far the better deal zakaria is twice the player and if he recovers his Bundesliga form 30m buy option is a steal hopefully his injury has indeed fully healed and he can continue where he left before juve. Have not seen him play in Italy so he could be a spent force now but he is better suited than Saul for his role
-
It’s not quite accurate tho. For Knock-out competitions or playoffs yes. Defence wins cups but offense wins leagues
-
Auba has to score and do so right away. His jaw looked fine btw in his arrival video at sky If he is another wasteful one, he would just be a taller, older Werner. Given we basically spend what we got for Timo on Auba this is fitting. Huge pressure on the geezer
-
Never rated him and predicted him to not cut it here a few pages back so no shock here
-
I just hope we won’t lose Gallagher and broja bc of these panic signings. I could live with Conor going in another loan as he apparently is not ready mentally but Broja offers something neither Auba nor Kai or Sterling does
-
Just had to work straight through for a couple of hours and apparently came back to learn we missed out on Alvarez for whatever reasons but signed zakaria and Memphis wtf what a twist lol zakaria was actually really good before his injury and fell off a cliff afterwards . He was one of the best DM in Bundesliga 2 years ago
-
A champion of eredivisie and some Mexican cups, big deal. looks like a South American Jon obi Mikel to me. Not that a mikel would not help us but we need someone who can defend and do a bit of playmaking or we will improve in some and get worse in other aspects
-
Lol congrats I guess terrible player this guy. Would rather take Alvarez
