  1. It’s beyond me esp as Douglas Luiz could just replace jorgi one for one and be an upgrade on almost every aspect of the game As critical as I am of Jorginho, his passing is probably better than that of Alvarez i just hope TT does not plan on playing both, Jorginho and Alvarez
  2. Is there any reasoning behind us pushing for expensive unproven farmers league DMs like sangare, Alvarez instead of PL proven cheap ones like Douglas Luiz, tielemans ?
  3. It’s five games till the next int break and until then our season could have already unravelled. Still if only Auba can rid us of Alonso I am a lot more open to it.
  4. Sangare signed a new 5y contract 3 weeks ago we are always looking at the players where the other club has the strongest position -.- but apparently sangare has a gentlemens agreement with them so he can leave if a big offer comes in that second goal we conceded yesterday some Southampton player just sliced through Jorginho with the ball. I still have no clue how that can happen. Jorginho has stepped out and closed the attacker down he could just take the ball off him with a slight movement of the foot yet both player and ball completely evade him. As if he just vaporized. this sure as hell would not happen with either sangare or Alvarez.
  5. Surely will just be one of the 2 the kind of average player you get for 50m is just baffling But PL club and panic buy tax on top of anyway overblown valuations
  6. they could hardly have given Jesus and Haaland an easier roll out. How many shit and newly promoted sides are they gonna play before they get serious competition
  7. Haaland scoring again. If city dont win the CL this year, pep has to resign.
  8. Remember beginning of the summer we were linked with 20m Guido rodriguez. I bet this Alvarez guy is basically the exact same player. At this point, clubs can just smell the desperation and will completely pull our pants down on the price The only decent value for money midfield deal out there is Tielemans.
  9. From the looks of it this Edson Alvarez is a tall, lanky, aggressive DM who can also play CB and higher upfield. According to Ajax fans on the internet he has had a stellar last seaso, was shit the season before but now they think he holds their team together. We will likely fail with the bid but it is still a good sign that we have accepted the fact that we need more steel in midfield. With Kante on his last leg we can not keep waiting on Rice only. Apparently I watched him play vs Dortmund last season but do not even remember him, so can not be too special.
  10. This one has to play against PL level attackers tho
  11. Tbf Kovacic and Kante are both great when fit and we would not be talking about this if they did not have terrible timing in getting injured almost simultaneously. The problem is our system and the profile of our remaining, admittedly rather defensively underwhelming mids does not allow for any effective combination without Kante/Kovacic. Most teams in the world would struggle if both players for a vital position would get injured at the same time. Usually having that position double covered should be enough. Bayern when they missed Goretzka and Kimmich were suspect on the break as well despite having multiple back ups on paper. Still no one says they have a terrible midfield.
  12. The thing with Auba is we would need that striker right now. Broken jaw needs 3-6 weeks to heal and maybe a bit longer to get confidence in heading ability back etc. At 33 time is running out for Auba anyway. I wish him the best, may he recover swiftly.what happened to him is horrible but I was against signing him from the beginning and now even more.
  13. Welcome to the club. May he be even better than what he is hyped to be. In the video, he looks genuinely excited to be here and eager to do his best. I had my doubts but now he is here I will be 100% behind him and wish him all the luck in the world.
  14. At least our brand new signing can help us by bringing in his experience from the Conference league then Ikr. We were not really good vs that poor Leicester side, in fact they were extremely wasteful and should have punished us but at least we fought and hung in there. Similar vs Everton. We did not play really well but we were combative enough to see the game out. Vs leeds and west ham, both away, we showed energy for like 20mins and then completely fell of a cliff. I think the absence of Kante and the only player who can remotedly replace him, Kovacic makes a huge difference. Along with RJ and Thiago our most important player for holding the team together. Other teams get inspired by those high intensity play of our midfielders. But looking at RLC and Jorginho's static defending, they might fall back into their trot. Obviously the absence of natural leaders is something that will get exposed whenever games swing against you as well. Arrogance, laziness, lack of leadership are common places to look at. But there is one more possible explanation. Last time i saw a team being erratic and times and then come back fighting only to ge back to a slump again was the Germany team under Löw in the later stages. Obviously the coach failed to give new impulses so he had to be changed but there was more to it. A lot of pulbic and internal debates had produced a toxic climate within the group and the players spent their free time isolated from each other playing during the catastrophic 2018 wc. Not sure this is the case today, but some of the players who left us were really popular by the looks of it and the club, including the coaching staff likely did their part in driving them out, so now their shadow still looms. Kai is probably affected by not having his fellow countrymen around him anymore, Mount was by the look sof it also close to them and Callum. Rüdiger also said Kovacic is his best friend at Chelsea... I think it is fair to say the huge reshuffle has ruffled some feathers. In the long term it is usually worth it albeit in some cases the price in the short term might be too steep.
  15. Finally. Apparently he has already trained with the team today. If he is as good as he was before his injury, he can massively transform our defence in the long term. But not enough to help us today. We need that midfielder.
  16. Interesting business model. Pay a one-time a fee up front and then call dibs on everyone of their jewels. Depends on the fee I guess and if we can make a similar arrangement with other clubs as well.
  17. He sure as hell is no Rüdiger. While he too has weaknesses he fitted us way better. i was very sceptical about his age and beginning decline as well when we signed him. Anyway I just hope he just needs abut more time to get used to the league
  18. We miss an aggressive leader like Toni big time. The rest are just passengers and now it shows some players are just past it like jorgi and azpi Not their fault they are picked some are fair wheather players who are only good when they get space and the game suits them like Ziyech, puli, Kai and this was expected. but by some I am just really disappointed. When has mount become so shit ?
  19. This is the first time I get myself to write this but Pulisic has to go he is just a lost cause
  20. I know our mids are shit but no mids is apparently not helping either
  21. That block from Thiago was out of this world tho shame it will count for nothing
  22. If we had wanted someone to provide a spark in attack we should have gone for sosa or Raum. Both would have been around 30m …
  23. The game is done but at least we got to see broja. It’s the little things nowadays. maybe we can even avoid relegation
