No fun to watch? I think the opener was one of the smoothest and quickest counter attacks I have ever seen. Was worth it all the way. After our 2nd we could have been more focused but I never had the feeling this would ever slip. We might need to improve here or there in the future but all in all we have to acknowledge this is a pretty well rounded side, head and shoulders above the rest in the league. This might not mean much right now BC the quality of the epl is low, the quality of world football in general but we're getting there. This side has enormous potential and the right tweaks will make us a very very special team.

Actually apart from the strikers they were all not so great yesterday. They were unable to break free on the counter when they were needed most. The much heralded bakayok as bullied out of the game by yaya, sidibe was their worst defender got ripped a new one by Sane time and time again. That Monaco team might be full of great players but yesterday was surely no evidence for that. Monaco will have to attack City in the 2nd leg and that will suit them. Even tho it is crazy to go out in a CL ko tie with SIX offensive players but if they do again they will score. A 5-3 sounds great but it is actually only better than a 1-0 when you score at least 4 in the second leg so I can see them going full pep mode again and us having such a spectacle all over. I think it's march 11 Which will be less than 2 days after their el fixture. I guess they will prioritize the el because winning that will warrant them the CL spot they will fail to get via the league. But I fully expect the ManU-loving FA to move the fixture again to comfort them. Not gonna help them tho. I actually can't remember in 13 years as a fan them beating us at the bridge except for 2 occasions. One was in the CL in 2011 where we were horrible and still should have won, had Torres been well...Not Torres and we not been denied a clear penalty and the other one was in 2012 where Mikel and Ramirez had the game of their lives completely bossing Carrick and Fletcher only for mark cuntenburg to send off Torres instead of Evans when the latter committed the most clumsy challenge ever and both being on a yellow and then Hernandez scored the winner being 1 nautical mile offside. However we have always dominated them at the bridge for the past 12 years. Even though they were our greatest rivalmfor years I felt we were always superior player for player and as a unit. However they got the advantage of managerial stability, Fergus time and their immense influence on officials which could tip close encounters in their favor. But we outlived them as title candidate. They might be on excellent form but we are the far stronger side tactically and even physically which is why I expect us to not thrash them again but at least comfortably see them off

Leaning towards the same. A title is a title. The epl is just as English as the FA cup and both are prestigious trophies I want us to win. Another double right in the faces of the Manchester teams and stuff would be great ESP since doubles are much rarer in England than in the other leagues.

This was one of those shit games where everything goes against u. The opposition score a world class goal, the ref is shit, the weather and the pitch are a mess, the opposition is playing out of their skin. Still we have to expect better no matter the frailties of this squad we should at least create chances but they completely shut us out. Hazard tried at least but Costa has been absolutely useless in the last 3 games offering nothing.
