He is a good makeshift but I'd much rather have a true no 10 there, someone like barkley or alli or even Sterling who still have a lot to give for England. Apart from that I am a bit irritated by the lack of wingers. Instead he always has milner , delph, rooney, lallana who are completely useless. I can see why Woy selected 4 similar, pacy and error prone fullbacks tho. Because they have no wingers those have to provide the width. Running all day long will increase their injury probability. England's strength clearly is their attack. Most countries true struggle to find only one pure in form striker. Hence they shoud complement them. Hence my pick would be a narrow, flat 442 Hart Clyne small Cahill Rose Dier. Wilshire Alli/Sterling,. Barkley Vardy. Kane. Sure, Sterling, alli and Barkley have no clue about intelligent playmaking,t the point about their free roles is that they can roam around with the ball like they always do and create space for Vardy and Kane to run into. The average rest picks itself.

The opposite is the case IMO. We good more than enough players who are ok-ish: Willian, Oscar, Pedro, Mikel, Matic, Cahill, Iva, JT, Baba.... We do not really have true world class in the squad considering Hazard, Courtois have world class potential whilst FAbregas and Costa have some world class abilities but are not really all round elite playeers. But what I agree on is that we already have a foundation which we should add to instead of buying new, world class players that have to be accomodated. Truth is we lack genuine quality footballers with experience, leadership and the ability to perform even when things go against the team, teammates are out of form etc. On the other hand I would suggest that there are ways to improve a team other than simply buying new player material. This team has bags of potential and failed to realize that last season. however with the right manager and coaching staff I think every one of them still has the room and the ability to improve still. None of our integral players bar JT; iva are older than 30, most are in their early to late 20ies which is the perfect age for footballers.

Reminds me of Djilobodji. Good athlete not sure about the technical and mental aspects of his game yet.

About the team I'd line up for England. Maybe Ross Barkley for Alli or Wilshere, Clyne for Walker and Smalling for Stones. But may God forbid Rooney to play any part in that team. His lack of pace and sharpness would completely destroy this England teams nice flow and directness. Rooney is by far the worst striker England got in their squad and should not even be in it IMO. I'd rather have Andy fuckin Carrol who at least offers something differently being about the greatest aerial threat in Europe would offer a viable plan B.

after the first half sEvilla are lucky to still be in the game having the ref on their side when playing handball or foul almost every time Pool entered the box. Deserved lead in the 2nd half tho. still want Liverpool to win it, so the PL does not lose 3rd place and a cl spot in the uefa ranking.

Götze, Sahin, Kagawa...they all looked brilliant in a Dortmund team that played to their strengths and had a coach that motivated them to go past their limits week in week out. Once they left for big clubs and big money to sit on the bench their momentum was lost. The latter two returned to BVB with their tails between their legs but due to loss of form and confidence they could never reconnect as well with the team as before nor repeat their former feats. In football, momentum, form, confidence and the right team set up is what elevates above average players to good players. Götze might very well recover some of his form under Klopp in a team that suits his style, but he will never be that player for us. He might be a useful utility man here as he is for Bayern, but I can not see him playing effectively next to cesc nor imagine him carrying the team as a leader which is what we need most atm.

Just scored the goal that keeps Bremen in Bundesliga in their Relegation clash with Frankfurt after having a solid match and absolute aerial dominance. For sure we can get a good price for him now

Good game, but both teams can do better. Bayern and ther players were adamant that they got more chances than they expected, but if they are honest they only got 2 real chances. The Alaba shot was covered by Oblak and that Martinez header was easily held. I was surprised Alaba fell for Torres only move. With a bit more luck our good ol' Nando would have decided the tie already. Expect a much improved, more incisive BAyern and a more consequent Bayern, hopefully with Godin back, so BAyern will not get as many chances. What I don't get is that Simeone got Correa, Carasco and Vietto on the bench and still plays Torres? Nando got a bit of maturity to his game and not producing as many turnovers as he did here but the other players would offer a bit of pace and some moment of surprise,

Sry for needless Thread bumping but I guess this guy is biting his ass for choosing the mediocrity of Leverkusen over the football sensation of the decade. He could have been part of Leicester's miracle instead of riding the Leverkusen bench.
-
That is just disgustint behavious on a football pitch. Luckily that punch had about as much power as a squirrel sneeze, so Yakob was not harmed. Dele Alli still should be banned for the rest of their meaningless season.
-
Yessss. It is done. Game over for Tottenham now surely. Leicester only need 3 points from their remaining 3 matches, that ofc only provided that Tottenham win all three.
-
yup. Absolutely standing to the reason and helpful information. thx. Afaik if Vardy does not contest, they will decde if he can play vs ManU and the Games thereafter. But if he had contested and lost, he would have got the ban for the ManU fixture anyway. So what is even the point of contesting? You can still be found not guilty without doing so. Anyway, this whole improper conduct is a farce. There are plenty of dirty words thrown around a football pitch, every child knows that, and picking some players out only because those are prominent cases is extremely unfair and utterly ridiculous. It is like the foreign military policy of the USA. There are plenty of terrorist regimes in the world but let's only bomb the one that gets most coverage. Time and time again the FA have shown to be just as corrupted a bunch of senile shitheads as their friends over at, Fifa, Uefa, DFB you name it.
-
I can't see Spurs winning all of their remaning fixtures whilst I can't see Leicester winning none, which will be enough.
-
We are witnessing Leicester's arguably best game of the season. They deliver when it matters the most, which is the mark of champions. However, them thriving with the addition of Schlupp and Ulloa raises the question whether their regular inclusion in the starting xi would have yielded better returns in the first place. Esp considering how poor Okazaki and Albrighton are. Surely they will win the league now nevertheless.

What I noticed about yesterday's game after recalling which players played (I could only see the 2nd half), I had to conclude that our Mikel Obi played CB. Mikel at CB. Football has peaked. But honestly, that is not even a bad idea. His offensive contribution is minimal anyway whilst his built is perfect for CB. Also he is as composed as anyone and a decent passer. That being said I wonder whether Gus did not simply play Miazga.

Good game, offensively and defensively, did his job alright for once. I hope the real Matic who is gone now for about a year can return now. If Conte is really gonna play Fabregas in the Pirlo role, we have to employ 2 complete cdms, who cover loads of ground on either side of him. From our current squad, Matic is closest to that, so we might as well keep him. Sure, we still need at least one energetic midifelder who is good at breaking up the opponents play and confident on the ball like Vidal, Kante or Nainggolan. They make Drinkwater, Xabi and that other guy look like worldbeaters besides them.

World class player, Already better than Rooney ever was.
-
With all his athletic and technical ability, Kyle Walker could actually be a decent footballer if he only had half a bran cell. Remember him gettng eaten alive by freckin Salomon Kalou in that legendary 5-1 fa semi 2012? Has not progressed much from there.

what Klopp is other than Mourinho is a pally character. He does not need to command full obedience and loyalty from his players for his authority to stand. Klopp is like the players big brother or best mate so he won't fall out with them as quickly and unreparable. Once Mourinho has lost a few players he loses the squad and consequently his job. Klopp does not have this demand of being perfect so he also doesn't need to find a culprit to blame when things go wrong. He can work on a solution together with the players. Mou's approach works brilliantly with mature, devoted characters (Zanetti, Lampard, Drogba, Lucio etc), who accept his authority and intromit but Klopp's is superior when dealing with youthfully exuberant sides, who still have to learn how to deal with their failures and amibitons. Consequently, klopps luck ran out as soon as the Dortmund and Mainz sides had matured.
-
credit where it is true, tremendous performance from liverpool in the second half. Klopp made that bunch of average players exceed their own limitations with will, character and discipline. They still made tons of mistakes but the difference to Hazard, Fabregas and Co was that they kept going regardless.
-
Klopp is actually doing miraculous work there, having them got where they are now at all, with the injuries they got and the lack of cover and quality. At least he has them playing decent football, pressing, chances and stuff. All worth nothing so far ofc.
-
"Anfield - the stadium that scores goals" was the headline from a major German paper today. More like the stadium that wastes 20 half chances. Some of the worst finishing ever seen here today whilst Dortmund score 2 goals from 3 chances. Brilliant counter attacking performance from them so far.
-
That Lverpool team is the epitome of mediocrity . I have seldom seen a team hat consists exclusively of perfectly average players from goalie to cf. Oh yeah I forgot, Coutinho is world class because he is better than Oscar, right? Think about what they invested in that team. 300m? Rival our recent signings
-
the most interesting duels would be Atletico - BAyern and Man City - Real. This is the only matchup I can see both underdogs having a shot at the final.
-
The team we could make up of stupidly sold players would comfortably see off our current one. Cech, Luis, De bruyne, Lukaku all lightyears better than what we have instead of them.
