Would be sad to see him leave. Not exactly a legend of the club but put in some great performances when it mattered most esp in the cl final 2012, the el final 2013, the whole 2014/15 season he was flawless. Then again in our recent fa cup final he was absolutely sublime in the mid cb position. But i guess he is bow too Immobile to play Sarrid high line in a 4 man defence so I understand if he night wnat to go and play first team football.

I dont quite understand we we seem to be in the hunt for players in positions we are more than set. I do not expect any of our current CBs to leave so even counting Azpi as a right back we got Cahill, Luiz, Christensen, Rüdiger and zouma who did excellent at Stoke. Then we have miazga,kalas, omeruo and hecotr coming back even though none of them are gonna make it here. we have 5 good to very good CBs for 2 position in Sarri's system. even luiz and cahill are 31 and 32 respectively barely an age for cbs. esp since I expect Rüdiger and Christensen to play most of the games next season and I do not see how Rugani is better than either. Like the Higuain signing makes no sense and i hope we are not paying that much for a player we do not need.

Kante is the player who should be top earner. A model professional who nev speaks bs in the press and always gives his all on the pitch. Him arbing most would drive greedy players to display the same commitment. And we should do it now not wait until Paris comes knocking bc so he feels how much we appreciate him.

Does his contract not have a loyalty clause? If someone talks this much shit about his employer he woulf usually get fined all the time. I am not at all bothetee by Courtois leaving but Alisson is way to expensive. I was very aggravated seeing Leno go to Arsenal. But i would also have Areola, Trapp, Ulreich over Alisson as they would cost a fraction 60m for a goalie is madness

We don’t need golovin. We are stacked in midfield I agree.i habe also never seen whats so special about him. Seems an absolute average player to me, like all other Russian players of this generation. We are also fine in defense. We need another am to combine with hazard and make him stay.

we changed the system to this torrid 3 at the back playing with 5 players to accomodate him and give him basically a free role. No player not even Lampard has enjoyed this much positional freedom in Chelsea since I watch the team. You can argue that because he has donkeys like Alonso and Moses supporting him on either flank that he has to do a lot on his own but no one can argue that he has not been given enough positional and tactical accomodation. On paper he might be a wide 10 or 2nd striker (which basically is a no. 10) but he is allowed to play as much as a true no.10 as one can.

Yes we are heavily reliant on him but in this case we are in a strong position. he still has 3 years left on his contract. But kante is the kind of player we should literally throw money to make a statement. Not only because he deserves it (as does Azpi) but because of the example he is with his workrate, commitment and professionalism. So tie him down to another 5 year contract. Also similar to Hazard, both are 27, this is the last year anyone will be willing to pay big money for a players of that age so next year we are pretty much safe as the big clubs will probably not come knocking again for what basically is an ageing player.
