The squad looks like a collection of talented footballers and some average ones no one really knows what to do with like in 2013 when we had Kdb, Mata, Oscar, Salah later. Its because most academy graduates cant wait for first team football and rather go to a smaller club to be starters then be fringe players here. I don't get why and I think it is a distinct error in the system. We should train and educate at least some of them to be squad players here their whole career. Chalobah who we sold for 5m was no worse than Drinkwater who we bougt at 27, for 35m (pounds! like 40m €) jsut because we could not get him sold on the idea of being a squad player here. which is our fault cos he spent most of his teenage years running around at our training grounds. Peoples minds can be formed when they are young and we should educate them with a bit more humble attitude and devotedness to the club.

The thing is how good will Courtois still paly when he knows he will leave next year? He will not go on strike but he will surely not be at 100% so I'd much rather replace him now. Meyer is a completely different player than drinkwater. Meyer IMO is a pure no. 10 who can be deployed deeper if needed. Götze would be the player most similar. But both are short and slow and I have always hated that player type because they just need to drop a bit of form or gain weight they are basically useless. I can see them still being in for drinkwater. Actually the only deal I can still see happening this window for us is like a Drinkwater to Westham/palace, maybe Bakayoko out on loan and Vecino in.
