My favourite time of the year... btw I dedided to not only boycott all international games during the season, but also the world cup in Russia, even though we are probably gonna win again. The reason are obviously Putin and FIFA. Feel free to join me enjoying otherwise crowded swimming pools and shopping malls and most importantly the TC transfer subforum during the matches^^

Is it only me or has Eden tried to first-time back heel layoff at least once every game for weeks now? Anyway this squad has many problems and Eden is not one of them. I think we should all accept by now that he is not gonna become a ballon d'or candidate or score 40 games per season. He just does not have this ambition or killer instinct and he does not want to have it. That is why I can see him staying over the summer. At Real the pressure would be much bigger to succeed Ronaldo and I can totally see him shying away from that. However i think instead of demanding from Hazard to be that stand-out superstar he will never be the club should support him by signing quality players with technical ability to play around him. Like a striker who can actually score goals AND has good linkup play. or at least hast the potential to become that. Or more importantly a midfielder who can paly between the lines so hazard oes not need to pick up the ball deep every time himself. We do not need a superstar we need a well-balanced, technically and mentally strong squad no matter if hazard leaves or stays.

100% gonna happen: Rumours alls year, the whole fanbase urges us to sign him, in the last week of the window we make a bid, Arsenal accept, odds get slashed, the forum goes in celebration mode then Ramsey rejects us, signs for Liverpool instead because he can play as goalkeeper there.

Kdb and eden have been playing shit together at belgium for years now. Selling kdb was a huge mistake but him and hazard have never gelled.

I think the Chelsea job is still very attractive for managers mainly because it is so difficult. The board, the owner, player power, so many interest groups to handle. Some people hate this but some just enjoy it too. To succeed where other great managers have failed is the ultimate triumph for an ambitious manager. The club still has immense potential and I can see that many managers want to add their personal touch to our rebuild. Sure it is no jobs for tactic-freaks who only want to focus on their work with the players. It is a job for a real manager, a well-rounded professional who can handle the business as well as the football. An ambitious man will challenge himself to succeed on all fronts.

I know Allegri is not too popular on this forum but he has proven himself to be a top manager time and time again. He has taken over from Conte and without much additional investment enhanced his success by making juve a regular in the latter stages of the cl and win the odd cup too all with an ageing, washed up squad. So imo if the board wants to keep up their way of not competing financially with the top dogs and yet have decent success without a major overhaul of the squad, i would trust Allegri the most to get the best out of what we have. He is tactically much more flexible than Conte, does his changes early and can influence the match from the sideline. They lost Pogba, Bonucci and Vidal and still are going strong. tbf their competition in the seria A is worse than ours but still not bundesliga-like. They spend less but more wisely and I believe Allegri has an impact on that as he always gets the players he wants for a decent price. Juve have a similar business model as we have with generating a lot of revenue from loans but they optimized it. I am sure Allegri would be able to bring along some guys who can help in this department too.

We can't be comparing Tottenham to Barcelona. Look at what happened to Juve when they went to Spain a few months ago. I am not. I am talking about Barca. They comfortably beat Barca last season with their 4-2-4 and 4 true attackers.
-
Lol those Americans. I was watching on Espn and after the post match interviews they just started talking about ice-hockey and some upcoming match without switching the studio, the pundits or even having a commercial break in between. How are we supposed to take them seriously?😂
-
A score draw (2-2) will do I know but i would rather win somehow. Juve showed that you can play with 2 real strikers and still be defensively organized.
-
Where is your messiah kane here? we have to channel our inne juve at barca. Playing like shit and still winning away
-
It is actually bad for our Top 4 hopes if they go out now but you gotta lol at the fact that they are getting spanked at home by a mediocre juve team after all their bullish uh we are the up anr coming team in europe self admiration
-
When was the last time, we turned a game late on? I think it a couple of games in early 2016. Anyway I did the maths and figuered, Pep needs to not win 5 of the last 9 games to not break our points record. So we should pretty much accept that they will break our record.
-
He might if he does not draw Arsenal^^ Conte has never won a cup competition in his life, I doubt the CL will be the beginning.
-
they were so confident we would never score, they pressed us with only 1 goal up. it is so pathetic with the game being mathematically all but open, it ultimately was decided with Kante being out. To lose against the best side in the world 1-0 is ok. but to lose without putting on a fight is just a disgrace.
-
.this is so Bad. Never Seen this hor ific Build up play
-
Conte is obviously right, but if the board gave him 200m he would not attract the attacking players Guardiola attracts. We can get the likes of Barkley and Kante but we are not gonna sign ready made world-class attacking talent over bigger clubs or those with more fancy managers.
-
If he had played like that for us his last 2 years here, he would not have been allowed to leave. Still selling him was the right decision. Replacing him with Bakayoko and Drinkwater was bullshit tho.

what we need is a manager to see us through the huge transition this club is going through. For the next few years we are going to be like the Milan teams. 10, 15 years of mediocrity again until we are back where we were 2005-2015. We used to have some not so good squads then too but we always had that leadership, that winning mentality, that edge in the players that always got us CL qualification + the odd trophy. Conte's title was a masterstroke especially given the players the board gave him. But it somehow threw us back in this transition because the board obviously thought we could carry on like this and not upgrade the squad anymore and now we got a squad without an identity. Are we a defensive team? well we are not really good at that anymore, are we a counter attacking team? we can't play out a counter attack to save our life? we got no midfield to be either, our strikers are misfiring and we got a manager who knows fuck all about how to deal with this situation. What we need is someone who backs youth, who knows how to bring the best out of them, who freezes out the deadwood, who finds a new strategy, a new formation, brings out the best in the qualtiy we have left. knows how to deal with the board and does so on a budget. That guy is not Conte. LvG actually did a similar thing at Bayern but I don't think he got it in him anymore + he's an ass.

I said it before and will say it again. It was right to introduce the back 3 back then, now it is the right time to ditch it. We are not going anywhere with 5 defenders. Surrender midfield because we are most shit there and load the attack. Will this leave us exposed? Most probably but heck. No manager ever should be hailed a defensive tactics master when all he does is loading the defense with players. Any team in the league can do that. Great defensive tactics is assuring maximum protection with a minimum loss of creativity and offensive output. We are not scoring enough. That has been a consistent problem under Conte, even when we won the league. You can always lag the odd goal because of a defensive error or a just bad luck. That happens whether you have 1 or 6 defenders. But we could have scored more here and we could have score more vs Barca. In those training videos you always see the players scoring free shots on a mini pitch. What I would like to see us is training the players scoring after a lung-busting 60 yard run, on the stretch, between three defenders with one contact in minimum time and in no space at all. Or how to fucking play out a counter without hitting the defender with every pass. This requires loads of practics and we have been shit at that all season.
-
No they are not. Only City is Utd is just as shit as we are, but they are the bigger brand and have more of a winning mentality. that is why they won today. we dominated them at the bridge and should have won by double digits. an today we should have gone into halftime 1 or 2 goals up. but we are unable to take our chances and falter under pressure. Commit suicidal errors in defense without being forced to. that is why we are where we are. the team is inc omplete disarray. Conte and most major players are elsewhere with their heads. Load this with a bunch of average passenger squad players and we got the situation we are in here. This problem has many dimensions. The wrong manager for the phase this squad is in. A board that is clueless in the transfer window and values economic success over footballing success. This big ass stadium rebuild project. An increasingly disinterested owner. A squad that lacks both genuine quality both in depth and in peak, barely working as a cohesive union because of the gaps in quality over the formation.
-
I think it is gonna happen and maybe that is just what we need. This generation is dead even though it is not old yet but it does not have the character or the durability of our former core. The squad and this club needs a major rebuild. Our prowess in the transfer window has obviously been crippled by incapable personnel and the prioritzation of the new stadium, so the rebuild will have to wait until that is over.

Morata was definitely onside. and even if not, it was too close to call. but the ref would have given the decision to utd no matter if he was ten yards on or offside. This is because 1) refs are shit and unable to interpet the offside rule "when in doubt for the attacker" and 2) because it is at old trafford and bc it is Utd, no referee would ever give a close call agains utd this late in the game.
-
obviously no offside perfectly legit goal by Morata. Ref at it again
-
This team just lacks cleverness. Completely lost the plot here
-
We cant defend and we cant attack so many passengers
