I really thought the era of mega swap deals was over but I guess it makes sense. Great deal for Rom, if he gets fit again he will tear that league up. Dybala i am not sure he is cut out for the PL. But a sublime Talent. Lets hope Martial, Rashford, Dybala will be stamping on each others feet.

OUr defence indeed looks worrying but our 2 best defenders in the middle, Kante and Rüdiger are yet to return.Also we did never play the same defensive line we are gonna use next season or stuck to one so I think there will be an automatic improvement. ON the bright side, our players look like they are having fun, we are scoring goals, creating chances. Our midfield is full of running, working hard and scoring goals. Mount and Barkley are a joy to watch right now. I also like how even BAts and Tammy are working hard. We are obviously lacking quality and IMO we are outsiders for the top 4 with Utd and Arsenal further strengthening but if we continue to play without fear but much enthusiasm i am fine. The real challenges are yet to come but if the atmosphere in the squad stay good and all our exciting prospects get as many chances as the preseason suggests we will have a fun season albeit maybe not a super successful one.

He is like a young Boateng, conoensating his lack of anticipation with pace and physicality. Those players tend to age badly. But i am happy that he has recovered fully fron that horrible knee injury in 2016. He still has a bit of time to develop his game reading abilities. Maybe one more seaspn with Christensen and Luiz will help that.

I have to agree with the critics here. 60m+ for a 27 y.o. by the time he joins us is too much esp for an attacking player who has never scored more than 10goals a season.

Lucas hernandez is only 1,81 or 82 as well and slim build. Bayern paid 70m for him to be their main cb, replacing 1,92 German giants Hummels and Boateng. The big strong CB is a thing of the past. It doesnt hurt when you are both but the emphasis is now on skills, agility, passing, playmaket quality, spacial awareness etc. Also battering ram strikers like Lukaku are coming out of fashion, no wonder no one but Inter wants him. So why have huge cbs. Football is highly cyclical so uäit could quickly change. People are getting taller but the height of footy pros esp for the striker and cb department has stagnated declined with addituonal mobility and technical requirements. Ethan is hardly small and will easily get 6ft+ in his early 20ies so inwouldnt worry about that if he bulks up functionally

We can not register players not even loanees i think If Kurt wants to leave we should let him for the right price. We have more than enough cover for the position even in the absence of Rüdiger. Api can play there, Alonso too.

I'd rather not have him playing vs us. He usually comes back in good shape from pre-season and hits the ground running before slumping in winter.

They are very different players tho. Mount is someone who roams in midfield and develops his attacking actions from late runs in the centre. Alli is more of a classic attacking midfielder who operates in the channels and makes early runs for crosses and diagonals to provide an aerial threat.

Drogba and Lampard were injured fpr most of the season and when they came back they made up 13points gap on Utd. It was a very unlucky season. He has never in his life played a 60 games season, hardly played in 2018, had a winter break. Had weeks off before the gold cup. He will be rested and fresh AF and he should be match fit already thanks to the gold cup.

Guys like Ngolo are the ones who always work hard, perform well but often get exploited in an office job as they are too shy and modest to take credit for their work. I am happy for him that he has a stage to shine for everyone to see and appreciate so every bully has to respect him for who he is. No one deserves it more

Its 50:50. Spurs have such a bad record of integrating big money signings in their team he could be a massive flop. Despite all of their almost successes, they still have this small club mentality which might play a part in making promising players regress after signing for them. Look at Lamela, Soldado, Janssen, Sissoko etc. They all could be described as technically proficient, promising, but still never really arrived. Spurs like to sign flavor of the month cos they can not afford or attract top quality. I don't know if this guy here is the real deal chances are spurs will ruin him anyway. Maybe it's just me but I will never fear Spurs, even if they sign Mbappe

It is a double edged sword. Players might not develop as good out on loan as at the club or might never want to come back. Dortmund also play for the German championship with green youngsters. Sure it is the league but would we be so much worse off having played CHO for Willian and Mount for Kovacic/Barkley last season . I doubt it Still it is striking that almost all world class clubs I know have a better record of flooding in youth from their academy than us. It is not even that I believe our youngsters deserve so much more rather that we prefer to spend on average players to make up squad numbers than give them to you haters. Some will not be satisfied with that but some will. Signing and playing the bakayokos, drinkwater, Williams, alonsos of this world over youth players that really identify with the club is the problem imo
