tbf of the goals conceded only one was from open play which was indeed a cascading of errors. We defended corners poorly. Also our attacking set pieces were absolute rubbish. We kept giving away the ball easily under their relentless pressing, just too many errors. But they were a much fitter, sharper team. Their 23 shots were inflated because they literally shot from any distance into the stands. They never outplayed us and our tackling was quite ok. Yes there are worryign signs but we should not fail to see the promise in this performance. WE dismantled an average European side quite easily with our best 3 players missing. Whenever we managed to play out from the back or launched those deadly diagonals we looked deadly. There was such beautiful, elegant directness about our play I have not seen for a long long time. There will be painful moths ahead but if we get through them I think we are gonna see spectacular football next year.

It helps getting your confidence up. Like DCosta when he was ripping teams apart in pre season and then started the season with 9 goals in 7 games or so.

Usain bolt has a worse acceleration than many footballers. In fact it was meausred often how Bellerin, Walcott, boli traore etc etc all take less time for the first 40min Plus I don't buy Tammy is only 1,90 he looks so super tall. Maybe it's because he is skinny but he looks at least my height

Only abraham has been a completely non-entity in this game. Shame but he is just a but slow in acceleration which is no wonder given his forever legs

Amazing pass as well. But when you have a player with that absurd pace you can always hit a diagonal and hope for the best. I didn't know Pulisic was such a composed finisher. I also like how he is basically jogging and those RB dudes were sprinting their lungs out still not catching him

Just great. Why did we give him so mich wages in the first place? He would have joined for half of that as well I am sure. Lets hope we can make some use of him. He actually was a pretty good player at Leicester. Lost his mojo completely here tho. But we are so loaded with more talented mids, i honestly hope he never steps on the pitch for us again. Maybe he can be a sub in the development squad...

I really thought the era of mega swap deals was over but I guess it makes sense. Great deal for Rom, if he gets fit again he will tear that league up. Dybala i am not sure he is cut out for the PL. But a sublime Talent. Lets hope Martial, Rashford, Dybala will be stamping on each others feet.

OUr defence indeed looks worrying but our 2 best defenders in the middle, Kante and Rüdiger are yet to return.Also we did never play the same defensive line we are gonna use next season or stuck to one so I think there will be an automatic improvement. ON the bright side, our players look like they are having fun, we are scoring goals, creating chances. Our midfield is full of running, working hard and scoring goals. Mount and Barkley are a joy to watch right now. I also like how even BAts and Tammy are working hard. We are obviously lacking quality and IMO we are outsiders for the top 4 with Utd and Arsenal further strengthening but if we continue to play without fear but much enthusiasm i am fine. The real challenges are yet to come but if the atmosphere in the squad stay good and all our exciting prospects get as many chances as the preseason suggests we will have a fun season albeit maybe not a super successful one.

He is like a young Boateng, conoensating his lack of anticipation with pace and physicality. Those players tend to age badly. But i am happy that he has recovered fully fron that horrible knee injury in 2016. He still has a bit of time to develop his game reading abilities. Maybe one more seaspn with Christensen and Luiz will help that.

I have to agree with the critics here. 60m+ for a 27 y.o. by the time he joins us is too much esp for an attacking player who has never scored more than 10goals a season.

Lucas hernandez is only 1,81 or 82 as well and slim build. Bayern paid 70m for him to be their main cb, replacing 1,92 German giants Hummels and Boateng. The big strong CB is a thing of the past. It doesnt hurt when you are both but the emphasis is now on skills, agility, passing, playmaket quality, spacial awareness etc. Also battering ram strikers like Lukaku are coming out of fashion, no wonder no one but Inter wants him. So why have huge cbs. Football is highly cyclical so uäit could quickly change. People are getting taller but the height of footy pros esp for the striker and cb department has stagnated declined with addituonal mobility and technical requirements. Ethan is hardly small and will easily get 6ft+ in his early 20ies so inwouldnt worry about that if he bulks up functionally

We can not register players not even loanees i think If Kurt wants to leave we should let him for the right price. We have more than enough cover for the position even in the absence of Rüdiger. Api can play there, Alonso too.

I'd rather not have him playing vs us. He usually comes back in good shape from pre-season and hits the ground running before slumping in winter.

Even though I am not sure we can keep it because Barca have another game? Anyway, its probably like the Emirates cup for which they changed the rules till Arsenal won it^^
