Anything we see from him this season I consider a bonus. Puli is absolutely notorious for pickling up niggling injuries all the time but he is used To it and recovers form quickly. I don’t expect Transform the team when he is back but he is probably our best winger and albeit our slump started when he was fit still he offers something no one else in the team does which is pace+directness+goal drive. We have been completely unable to play out counters effectively And break up buses and without him

Credit where it’s due. Good performance. In no way I would have expected him to be this mature. I have not changed my overall opinion and still have some reservations but he will come in handy with all those injuries. One big reason for all the Gilmour love however is that bar Kovacic we have been deprived of this player type for long. His performance yesterday was what you would expect from a veteran but not from a worldclass one so mind the Hypetrain for now

yup. i think playing out from the back is overrated anyway. JT and Carvalho also never played it out from the back and they were hardly bad on the ball. The risk/chance relation is just so much better with humping it upfield.

I think not playing out from the back has helped us massively today. Kepa has humped it upfield every fucking time and Giroud has been able to nail down 30% or so of the long balls. Vs players not named van dijk it will probably be closer to 50%. no need to risk it with unskilled passers like our cbs when you have a tower up front.

you are right. the commentator said is wrongly i think. So worst possible time to catch an injury to our most important midfielder. Lets hope Billy Gilmour can step it up. he is most similar to Kovacic in terms of movement, albeit not really as good on the bal but I like his positioning today I have to admit.

Kovacic is a warrior he aint no pretending. At least he is banned the next 3 games anyway so he has some time to recover. Still an absolute bummer to lose our currently most vital player to another fukcing injury.
