Sounds reasonable. Silva scored 28 league goals in Bundesliga just like Werner the season before... but Silva needed fewer chances. If we can get him for 35m it would not be the worst deal in world. I have concerns over him bc he appears to be one of these sensitive guys like Werner, torres, morata who need to feel at home apprecaited first yada yada to score. On top of that Bundesliga has become a very striker friendly league like Eredivisie with many teams defending high, leaving spaces behind and a shortage of defensively strong DMs leaving the defence exposed in most games In other news an interesting striker prospect i have been watching, Patson Daka is almost surely going to Liverpool.Only RB Leipzig can still snacht him maybe. Under 30m as well.

Traore is basically Willian on a very resolute steroids regimen but with worse shooting. Flashy but totally ineffective. But his power and pace gives him an aura that immediately makes defenders panic. It is a super long shot but if TT can teach him the basics of football he could be a decent RWB backup. I don't think it is worth the hassle tho.

While Sarri is by no means a bad coach he is one of the least inspiring ones we had in the last 20 years. Would not lose any sleep over him at any PL rival and least of all Arsenal. Their mercenary squad with terrible mentality would simply combust under his rigid style.

Ofc Lampard deserves credit. For getting su top4. For getting us 1st spot in the CL group and also for making RJ, Mount the palyers they are and helping to assemble a squad that won the CL. Just as Lampard deserves critique not derision for his tactical inaptitude, he deserves credit for his achievements that helped us along the way to CL glory. A good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad act the good. Each should have its own reward. Are you really this stupid? AVB did not get us into top 4 the season before. So part of that credit goes to Carlo for getting us into top 4 the season before and part goes to AVB for getting us through the group stages ofc, albeit to a lesser extent bc he also botched that first leg at Napoli.

He definitely was a contributor. Esp the goal vs Atletico was a turning point for me in that tie. it does not look like now but the first tie "away" vs Atletico was on a knife's edge. Atleti's counter attacks were dangerous enough to unnerve a team that was at that point not too self-confident. Our hardest challenge in the competition until the final. Giroud's goal was an absolute shocker to Atletico, definitely not in their plan and effectively decided the tie cos it allowed us to dictate the terms of the second leg.

I would not mind that deal at all. But only if it does not take cash away from our more urgent issues like striker, midfielder, cb and possibly back up goalie (prolly not too costly). I would also sell Ziyech even at a loss if it facilitates the Sancho move. But i really do not believe any of this will happen sadly
-
Greenwood is effectively a right winger. He already has decent output I don’t see why he can’t step up and reach the same level as Sancho
-
Truth is we do not need Sancho, neither do Utd. He improves both teams but not to an extent that is worth shedding 90m out IMO. There are bigger holes to fill than signing even moe wingers.

It was the next day. I was so hungover the next day, you could have easily taken a 10 seconds snippet where I did not look joyful. Obviously means nothing .

You did not criticize his faults you mocked him for being jealous and embarrassed. He has congratulated every member of the team and Tuchel privately. He has not done so publicly bc of ppl like you I could imagine. Or maybe he does not want Tuchel fans who pretend to be Chelsea fans stain this moment for true Chelsea fans by making it about his shortcomings. Tuchel is so good as a coach he does not need others to make his predecessor look bad for himself to shine. So just cut it. Lampard has played his part in leading us to CL and through the group stages so this is not the time to mock him. The club surely won’t. I bet he will even be offered another CL medal.

I strongly doubt that the stadium plans will be resumed. In the end it is just a marginal source of income but would take an investment multiple times the clubs revenue. Match day revenue is not scalable, tv money is so I rather have the club invest more in its brand than in old world assets
-
So you create an account here and use your 3rd post to needlessly take a dig at one of the club’s greatest legends. In the same post you admit that you have relied on the resources of the very insightful German media to form an opinion on a coach that you had 1,5 years to see with your own eyes. Interesting choice. Let me tell you we had a member on here before who also used to pitch Tuchel vs Lampard in every of one his posts. It did not end well for that member.

When Bayern won the pretend CL last year they demanded Lew to win the balon so often and loudly that in the end fifa were so unnerved they actually gave him world footballer. maybe it will work again

Not sure any of those would work as 1 on 1 Jorginho replacements due to different playing style but i would take Locatelli (been a big advocate of him for months and i think one of the first who brought this name up here, really happy most who checked him out since joined me), Neves and maybe Guimaraes. I think Brozovic is too old and I don't rate Kalvin Phillips, Bennacer or Douglas Luiz. All three are guilty of letting the game pass them by too often. Weigl would probably the closest to a 1 for 1 Jorginho replacement but I actually don't want a 1 for 1 replacement. What Jorginho does is simply not enough. The ideal player to take his place would be someone who has the same composure, passing and tempo control ability and tactical discipline but is less error prone, physically stronger, better tackler, can play line breaking balls from deep and also can roam from box to box if necessary to support the attack. That player probably does not exist but I think Locatelli and Rice come closest. I have not seen enough of Tchouameni but whilst some liken him to Bakayoko some say he is exactly what we need.

Champions League Final 2021 - Man City 0-1 Chelsea
Magic Lamps replied to Jase's topic in Champions Archive
We never went out to a swiss team lol at least not in the 17 years I follow this club^^ We also never went out to Juve during this time in a k.o. game. We won vs them in 2009 (1-0 and 2-2) under Guus. We lost to them when they were trained by Conte in 2012/2013 Group stage which contributed to our relegation to EL where we played FC Basel in the semifinal but won 2-1 and 3-1. We lost to Basel in 2013/14 CL Group stage but still progressed. CL final in Moscow was 2008, so 2010 not exactly fresh after that. 2009 was the Övröbö scandal vs Barcelona maybe you meant that. -
I wonder what happened to TT's lucky shoes. After reading the confirmation of the backstory, I now get why they were so central to our celebrations. I really hope they were recovered lol. Did anyone spot the model anyway?
-
I like that solution but unfortunately we both know this is not gonna happen. The club is so prudently managed that we are unlikely to dish 30m out on a player who has just had 1 season in a first tier league. I personally think on this one it would be well worth the gamble. Lacroix tactical awareness, pace, height and stamina are characteristics that will help him make an impression anywhere. Moreover we are in a perfect position to make a gamble on a young defender like the uncapped Frenchman (read: he would have the summer to work with TT) or Botman. We have a settled core of CBs, so no risk signing an extraone, two of which are ageing so a genuine perspective to integrate a new prospect. We obviously woudl get him. Wolfsburg to RBL is literally almost the smallest step up you can make 4th to 2nd. They obviously can offer him being first XI but working with TT, Silva, Azpi should trump that everyday. Blooding in a new young cb next season is the perfect time with all those legendary defenders in our squad right now about to play a mammoth 60 games season.
-
They are both not exactly rapid are they? Currently I think pace is more important for CBs atm (esp in our playing style ) than a few cms more height. If i have to choose between a 1,90 defender with lightning pace and 1,95 one with decent pace, i woud always go for the former.
-
Speaking about pace, Lacroix is the fastest centre back in Bundesliga and ran the fastest 4th top speed last season with 35.8kmh. Imagine him and Rüdiger in our defence we probably could push the defensive 20 m into the opposition's half and still not get catch a counter attack lol
-
Neuhaus is easy, just noy and then house For Lacroix, think La and then think Croix like the Croa in Croat but obviously without the t. Classic french pronounciation like the croi in Croissant. Definitely not la croy
-
lol. Tomlinson is the one who is ugly enough to believably impersonate Vardy^^
-
Neuhaus signed for Bayern in 2022, jfyi Lacroix is 90% gone too RB Leipzig for 30m. Watch him double his price there within 2 years. We should try to swoop in here IMO. Lacroix is my favourite of our CB transfer targets atm.
-
Did he play well? I don't really remember any meaningful contribution by him defensively nor offensively but i am a bit biased against him (still want him gone) so I will rewatch the match in the next few days and report... Edit: I rewatched the game and still think he was poor. Did not make terrible mistakes like in the games before but telegraphed a clearance and a pass in the last 15mins. was mostly non-existent. worst Chels player on the pitch for me. Tbf he was absolutely knackered 20mins before the the final whistle already but it is simply his lack of athleticism. we don't need a player like him.
-
A warrior and a leader - exactly what we needed. That block tackle on Foden was immense. I also got some huge Ramos vs Salah 2019 vibes from his block on KDB but it obviously was unintentional. You need some real bad luck to break you eye socket on a someone's shoulder. Probably needs a bony one like Toni's lol. Never would have imagined when i saw that clumsy lanky kid first play for Stuttgart concede a penalty and get red carded in one of his first games that he once would be a champions league winner. Incredible.
-
His is one of the most touching stories here. 6 years ago he was living off jobless' allowance and now he is a Champions League winner. No wonder he was so moved. I was too. When he laid down on the ground covering his eyes. And how gracefully he first touched that trophy. Absolute chills.
