Hmm it was £25million + £5million add-ons - which is not the same as £30 million If you were selling something and wanted £50, somebody offering £35 might just convince you, but £25 and another £5 at some point in the future, no way are you selling. A straight £35million will see him leave is my expectation - maybe it will be £35million and a few more in add-ons, but I guess after spanking the budget last season, they need quite a bit of capital up-front... City have to sell in order to buy (not financially, but again because of FFP) - so you can see why they are starting low - despite the bollox from their 'senior' management...

Wow it just shows how much TORRES has damaged our perception of strikers He's worth the gamble IMHO

No more parking the bus then

To be fair to Barclays - you have to separate the 'divisions' - high street banking is ok Bob Diamond was the biggest problem and he's gone now All Banks were complicit in the financial meltdown and it started in the US with sub-prime mortgages being bundled with other mortgages and sold as investment opportunities. The whole system is integrated so everybody from Andora to Zimbabwe were involved. Then came the rate fixing 'Libor' again all banks have been found guilty. The whole problem with banking is the obsene amount of bonuses - this leads people to do silly things... But the Premier League sounds fine to me.

Ok good point the trains are pretty awesome - if you can book in advance a bit cheaper as well - from Paris to Salzburg if was like £60 with a sleeper car from Paris to Munich It now costs me £100 to get from Peterborough to London - UK is such a rip off

He should stay - it takes at least a season to adapt to the PL and find some chemistry with team mates. Yes, Azpi and Iva are ahead of him in Jose's mind - but injury or suspension means we need a solid performer to cover. We all know Mourinho reverted to a siege mentality and decided on a core of players to play consistently in his style. I think we have all said that Mou needed that trophy - now we should expect some advancement in the new season and players like this will hopefully get more chances.

When I lived in Austria we had to drive 1000+ miles to come home (as had the dog) but it was great doing different routes and finding new places Camping is indeed cost effective

Just do a road trip - few cars from France to Croatia - amazing

Ok Debit Card = the money is taken from your account (debited) - no interest Credit Card = the money is paid by the credit card company and then they invoice you to pay them with interest if the balance is not paid in full. Now - the best bit about Credit Cards is that if you are clever you can get 28 days free credit - before interest is charged. Interest on a Credit Card is APR based - so if it had an APR of 12% that's 12% / 12 months = 1% charged on your balance each month Credit Card is safest when buying online - sofa, tv, holiday etc - as if something goes wrong, the credit card company are in the firing line. If you pay with debit card, it's your problem to fix. With liquidators etc debit card is treated the same as cash, e.g gone, whereas credit card you are absolved and are covered Obviously there are edge cases to the above and all providers are different but hope that explains it

Ok - seems like a lot of people are getting confused with the Falcao deal. Essentially this is like HP (Hire Purchase) - it's the same as buying a car You can walk into a showroom and stick a few grand down (our €5 million) and drive away in a brand new car (Falcao joining us) - you are then committed to monthly payments (wages we pay him) at the end of the term (season for us), you have the option to buy the car outright at the agreed value, referred to as a 'balloon payment' (the €30 million Monaco are quoting) - or, you simply hand back the keys and walk out (you could also use any difference in the balance against a new car - that doesn't work here ) So it's a pretty normal 'deal' structure I doubt very much that we are willing to pay that balloon payment so I expect a one season wonder. which is fine as other players should be breaking through from the Acadamy, or other targets will be more viable.

Platini is angling for FIFA That's bad news

If you were the best - you'd definitely pick someone less good to come in and manage after you It further reinforces and solidifies your status as legend However - even SAF probably didn't expect UTD to be so shit under Moyes lol

The first season back from injury is always tough It takes time to get over it and adjust, and as some rightly point out 'TORRES' never did. Owen to some degree did and maybe Falcao might. Costa could always get a Red, Remy is injury prone - so having a 3rd established player is a risk, but he can't be any slower than Drogba lol Loan is the best move. After all our failed messiahs - it would be simply amazing if he came here and rediscovered his form It's a 50/50 gamble - so I'm happy to take a positive stance (glass half full) and say Jose will mend him

Scoring against us really pissed me off - I was on my honeymoon on a Safari in Africa - when he scored I was so angry!!! Oh well people make bad decisions - he made his bed I'm sure over time I will forgive him, as he did so much for the club
-
It's all relative - £100k a week is massive £5.2 million a year! If that's not enough to live on with a luxury lifestyle then what the fuck is?

Whenever I think of this dude - I always sing (in my head the monorail Simpsons song) - but swap monorail for mono-brow

It was a game played in high humidity and nothing really to achieve. The youngsters did well - I enjoyed the first half much better than the second. Some genuine talent (but still very raw) - Jose as usual is right - there's not many of these lads that can start for us currently. The gap between Youth and Prem is ridiculous and the loan system is clearly not a reliable way to bridge that gap. I feel more than ever we need a B team system. Colkett looked great - just hope he continues at this pace, Solanke has an eye for goal and needs a good loan. I though RLC did well - I don't get the criticism. All in all, the future is bright, the future is blue

Good point! Whenever I think of 'The Emirates Trophy' - I always associate that with a 4th place finish
-
Give it time they've had managerial stability for years and the same playing style - it takes time and they still bottle it. Jose has achieved so much in 2 seasons - if we gave him 10 more seasons - imagine what he could do.
-
I'm liking Colkett - hope he progresses - great passing range
-
Loving this game - some great talent for the future here

What a finish
