  1. My unpopular opinion is that many 'fans' on these forums are needlessly whiny and acting like spoilt brats - just because we're not spending 200 million plus on players... That was never going to be the case! Those same people also bang on about us not playing youth! Go figure!?!? If we don't have a perfect start to the season it will be unbearable with comments like: - should have signed Pogba - should have signed Grieznman - should have signed .... <insert over priced player>... Sigh...
  2. Good! If your opposition likes you - it's because you're shit. I want them to hate us more than anything. Jealousy is a strong emotion and I bet every Arsenal fan would love to have our success of the past decade, but they cannot admit that, so they resort to cheap, well worn jibes. The new stadium will also give us a rock to sit on Seems this guy is not only bitter, but quite probably thick as shit too
  3. Exactly - as Jose said - it's a summer of evolution, not revolution... We have to be careful with expectations. I don't doubt we have a list of targets that we have been working on for months, with alternatives if the principal deal falls through. Just I don't see Pogba or other players coming - that's not evolution, that's revolution. The hypocrisy is also crazy - Jose must play more youth in one breath, we haven't signed any £50million + players in the next. Jose knows his squad and the club has a plan - just sit back and enjoy it.
  4. Is this thread still going? Lol - he's not coming here - close the thread - all you're doing is setting yourself up for disappointment
  5. Why would you sign an anti-compete? You just wouldn't. It would also be pretty shaky legally...
  6. I think Matic is 1 in a million - lol. The other 999,999 times it's a massive mistake
  7. I said I wanted him at the start of the season and if we get him for £5million that's an amazing piece of business. The guy is a warrior and pretty much dragged West Ham near the top of the table - then he went for the AFCON and picked up a knock IIRC and then struggled to get the heap of shit around him to perform. West Ham are fucked - relegation candidates IMHO now that Allardyce has gone - so many fans slate the bloke and yet he delivers premiership football consistently for the smaller clubs.
  8. Hmm Dembele is a decent player - I think it's hard to shine in the Spuds team He's a Mou kinda player - big, strong, easily holds the ball - him and Matic would definitely be a decent pairing - leaving Cesc, Oscar and maybe Wllian to battle out the no.10 role. He can also shoot from outside the box - something we have been lacking I kinda like our approach of maybe signing a few cheap players, dusting then down and bringing them back to form. Yes we have lots of cash at the moment - but if the proposed stadium development goes ahead - our capacity will be massively reduced, making it harder to balance the books... Maybe this is our Arsenal era - except we will still win trophies
  9. We've already been there and done that
  10. No problem - 39 this year Haha - oh well another thing to look forward too Maybe that's big Pete's problem - he can't tell the difference between blue and red
  11. Absolutely agree with everything and said something similar a few pages back. I hate sounding patronising - but I think responsibility is one of the last things life teaches you and I think some posters on here just haven't 'lived long enough' to learn this - but it will come... For me - up to around 25, it was always black/white, now it's just varying degrees of grey
  12. Lol Woy is more Fulham and he cocked up going to Pool I don't mind Woy - he is a bit like Mou - he sets his teams up not to be beaten first and he likes a settled team. He also relies on the brilliance of individuals to get results. But yeah - the older I get the more 'meh' I am about England - hardly watch the games anymore - too many let downs I think in the past
  13. Me too him and Eidur had a great partnership I also loved Vialli he was awesome, shame he came at the end of his career. That just makes me realise how far we have come - we could always attract players in the twilight of their career, but now we're getting young ambitious players - great turnaround in 15 odd years
  14. I'm glad JT has retired - benefits us massively and the bellends at the FA know they fucked up!
  15. Hmm is the latter realistic? Woy has a settled squad now?
  16. Lol - how is that even a battle? Choice = 2 relegation contenders OR an EPL Champion
  17. You cannot be mad at a genuine person like Cech wanting to put his family first. It takes a big man to stand up and do what's right for his children and family. He knows some fans will slaughter him, but he's prepared to take that on the chin. If anything - this makes me like the guy even more. He's not a mercenary - he's a genuinely decent bloke - look on YouTube, he made a video of him drumming at a fans request lol - who else would bother to go to those lengths? The players always speak very highly of him too. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely gutted on a 'fan' level - but - I can see his predicament - he has to do what's best for his children and family.
  18. Looks good on paper probably great in FIFA and FM too But sadly I just don't see it happening
  19. I'm sure I created a thread about this guy ages ago - definitely worth taking. Massively underrated at Arsenal and assisted RvP many many times before they both left. Huge upgrade on Mikel - can be a little reckless at times and is a Red Card potential player - but definitely good enough for a couple of seasons
  20. Yup has at least 6-7 more decent seasons easily... It's such a shame that we have this problem But, I guess we have to stick with the younger guy and build for the future. Cech will be a massive loss in the dressing room.
  21. Augero is injury prone IMHO - but when he's on the pitch he's lethal and worth the risk If City ever got some decent clinical second/third strikers - they would be a real threat...
  22. I like Cabeye - but he's simply not good enough for us - there's a reason he sat on the bench for most of the year
  23. If he leaves - that will be a very poor bit of business IMHO The £8 million we paid for him is peanuts in comparison to his goals per game Unless Charlie Austin and Falcao are coming in this is bollox If West Spam want a striker - take Bamford on loan!
