What we have now is what we've got until Jan anyway... It's a strange one I really wanted to see Mikel move on and maybe keep Ramires as an impact sub - with the hope some of the long fabled youth might be given a run... My only concern is that come Xmas - if we're not doing what we expected on the pitch it could cause some overpriced panic buying - which would really piss me off as we have had this window to potentially sort out 'dead wood' What's the old army saying? Fail to Plan, plan to fail? Or was it the seven p's? Prior Planning & Preparation Prevent Piss Poor Performance Oh well - should be an exciting season and if UTD sign Pedro - they're almost back to square 1 with a completely new team. It will take then some time to gel. City look like getting KdB - but not sure how useful he will be for them... Liverpool could again be a surprise package - but I hope not Our only problem as I can see it - is creativity, we need a backup for Eden - not something we currently have

Congratulations - well deserved

I didn't watch the game as had a mare of a day with my Dad being rushed into hospital - found out about the result last night I'm not pleased we lost - but maybe in the grand scheme of things it will force Mourinho to re-evaluate some of his decisions, which can only be a good thing. After reading all of the preceding posts - you'd have thought we just got demoted to the Ryman league (if it even exists still) My only hope is that this isn't some kind of 'power struggle' - we have been unusually shite in the Transfer Market - and I hope Mou isn't deliberately selecting MIKEL and Ramires to prove a point Anyway - hopefully we will either sign the midfielder everybody thinks we need or give RLC a chance - he cannot be any worse than Mikel or Ramires... On to the next game

Sad news dude! Hope the personal stuff gets resolved very quickly and you can find some time to get back on here

I think we are going to be without Costa for most of the season - he needs his hamstring sorting or its career over... I'm fully expecting him to be unavailable until December. It makes no sense in not sorting the problem - the longer you leave an injury the harder it gets to correct - too much scar tissue forms and complicates everything Get the lad sorted once and for all.

My thoughts exactly and I raised the Zouma thing a couple of weeks back and was shot down a bit That's obviously why we are interested in Stones The midfield part is baffling - I thought it was certainty that Mikel was off...
-
Indeed - and as he only went there for the money (and vodka) he isn't going to be cheap! It's a gamble and he probably lost it by demanding too much money!

That made me LOL

Jesus - how is it that all of a sudden: Net Transfer Spend = Success It absolutely fucking DOES NOT City and PSG have spent sooo much in the past 5 years - probably £200million a season just on transfers - are they any nearer winning the CL? No! They're still shocking - same with PSG. Stop believing the bollox that Transfer Spend = Success Transfer Spend buys you players and there's a 50/50 chance they will perform for you - it's an awful gamble. Having a settled, well drilled team and improving the squad season on season is a much more sensible way of doing things - tears how UTD built an Era. Having a larger stadium also helps financially and allows the exponential growth of the club.

Yeah amazing - go read the early posts after he had a good game in pre-season a few years back - the new Messi I think on this forum players are either amazing or shit - lol - there's no in-between. I have faith in this guy - I hope he will achieve a lot here and if Mou can see it - then I'm hopeful.

Wow some crazy overreaction on here If we had been a bit sharper in the first half we could have gone in with a 3 to 4 goal lead. 1st half was pretty decent football IMHO The second half predictably had changes and then the rhythm of the team died and the opposition rode their luck well. I care more about the first 45 minutes - it was a decent performance by some of the 'fringe' players and has given me plenty of optimism for the forthcoming games. No need to slate players and every keeper has a debut like that in them - better it happens now - than at a crucial point in the season ahead We all know the team responds better to defeat than victory - so a nice wake up call ahead of PSG. But don't fool yourselves - the season will only begin when the EPL starts - I'm not sure we'll bother too much for the Charity Shield either.

Will record it on Chelsea TV then watch it at about 12speed until we are attacking and then slow it down to normal speed
-
Maybe Stones coming will allow Zouma to play more regularly in the Makele role? Jose played him a few times last season in that role and he did well
-
Corrected - he should only ever be referred to as Brenda the Spender from now on
-
Dude it's not FM or FIFA ultimate You can't just chuck all those players together and expect instant results - it takes time - 'chemistry' is the term on FIFA right ;) Good team - will never happen!!!!
-
Should have added a good ole cup of English Tea in the middle of those pics - then it would have made sense to me

I think every club has ruined players - however the Mark Hughes and early Mancini era - they signed about 10 players a season on huge wages and no prospect of the players ever getting a game. It was a calculated strategy I guess, sort the wheat from the chaff and aim to disrupt and weaken the lesser teams in the PL. No club is perfect - but for Delph, captain of Villa to move to City without IMHO a nailed down starting place is pretty crazy. That said City do have problems in that area and he could get a game next to Birthday Boy.

Signing of the summer if we pull it off This lad will be immense
-
Another Lescot, and what was that midfielder from Everton who looked promising that joined as a young lad to City - Rodwell? His career has died on its arse...
-
And as @stroey says this would be a sad day indeed! @didierforever is a good poster - sure we don't always agree on everything - but he's never been 'childish or abusive' with me and I certainly haven't seen it before. Hope this goes away quickly without any bans or warnings...

Actuall he most resembles BEAKER from the muppets

I have been thinking about this thread quite a bit. I get the need for 'marquee' signings - but just wanted to share my opinion on what a 'marquee' signing is. Essentially - it's a promising young talent, given a chance to succeed that suddenly finds themselves worth plenty of millions. And everybody wants a piece of them (Bale is a great example). Now we have in our U21 squad some of the hottest prospects around. I see absolutely no reason why RLC couldn't have a stellar season and be the next Pogba, why Traore couldn't have a banging season and be the next Griezman etc. I'm not sure how well I'm making this point - but if our youngsters where in another team getting regular playing time - we would probably be demanding we sign them for £30 million plus... So I look at it as - we have 2-3 U21's with a genuine chance of playing time - that's almost equivalent to splashing out £90 million... Apart from cover for Matic - I'm not sure who else I would sign today that we desperately need?
-
Lmao - seriously? So because we have balanced the books we should go out and splash the cash?So let's look at the 2 biggest spenders nearly every season: - Real Madrid - Man City This tactic is really working out well for them right! They're dominating their domestic leagues and snapping up EUROPEAN Silverware... Oh wait... Jose and the board know where we need to strengthen and will attempt to redress that. We also have a very well stocked team of U21's that are looking to break through - so there's a definite need to integrate a couple of those players - saving us plenty of money...
-
Good luck to him at Shitty Definitely not one for us

Probably his one and only accurate tweet of his life...
