???? Good to see you back on form
-
Weird can't delete a previous quote that crashed I think we might have 'all' been a little guilty of over estimating our younger players, easy to do when the seniors were performing so badly we definitely need some 'starters' in midfield and defence, but will probably sign another winger ??? also there is no compensation package for Conte, which means more money can be allocated to xfers, as opposed to buying out his Southampton contract. I'm not sure on Conte - we're getting an ego maniac and I doubt it will end well, Koeman would have been a nice continuation to the way Guus conducts himself, Conte is like 100 times crazier than Mancini and only slightly less deranged than Paolo DiCanio ???

The takeaway for me is that: Pundits always talk shite

Good point, but it's like magnets - Jose's personality was pushing things away, Guus is overly positive (like seriously, the dude must much MDMA all day), and his personality clicked better with the players. The problem with Jose is the perception of Jose a miserable, bitter, twisted ego maniac. That's how I see him, I don't doubt he is a decent man and I know and have seen he is a great manager, but his pettiness (rightly or wrongly) caused a negative vibe. Guus is and will be the perfect tonic, don't get me wrong if we were losing every week and he was still being 'optimistic' I know that would also piss me off i will always be of the belief that had Mou stayed, we wouldn't be in the position we are now, watching and finally enjoying some matches this season, for whatever reason the magic of MOURINHO - upped and disappeared like a fart in the wind
-
I kinda disagree - Guus has been here before and achieved similar things, the fact he's doing it again adds strength to my statement i don't think Brendan Rodgers would have been a good appointment. I see Guus a lot like RdM - very calm, nice, respected - but with a strong will to win, the AVB and Mourinho situations are comparable, both lost the dressing room and both left under a cloud. We couldn't defend under either manager - I hope Guus brings us at least one trophy this season. the real test though will be the new appointment - I'm dreading that...
-
Lmao it's nice to only have these kind of complaints after our earlier season form its no biggy IMHO - Guus has proven he will give players a chance when ready

I wholeheartedly agree on media training. I also agree with what you have written, the only 'but' I have is that of 'actual intelligence' - now this might make me sound a bit of a dick, but with very few exceptions, the average footballer is not known for their cognitive prowess or varied vocabulary - they usually repeat the same 5 or 6 words over and over again in an interview and use phrases out of context - the manager has installed confidence, no dickhead, it's 'instilled' confidence ?? im just not sure how bright Eden is and whether his general laissez faire (sp?) attitude sometimes creeps in when it shouldn't whatever the situation a 'smart' man would come out and clarify the situation, reassure the fans and give 100% on the pitch. Lets hope he picks up the mantle in the next few games, that could see us progress in the cup and the CL.

Here's my problem - big transfer fee == good player the Leicester team has some great players and they were purchased for less than Pappy. It's about building a good scouting network and identifying prospects and playing them once purchased, whereas we just loan them out, the loan system is so heavily flawed I can't be bothered to go into that now papy is doing a decent job in the Bundesliga and from the glimpses I have seen of him, he's comparable right now to Gary and Iva...

Maybe it's me ? i just think it's too easy to fall into the trap of believing media stories. It's all about context - and any quote taken out of context can look bad! We as a forum are always super harsh on players. Yes, he's not had the best of seasons, but nobody, except Willian has. He's also picked up some nibbling injuries and does look devoid of confidence. Maybe we should show these media outlets the credence they deserve - ignore them and let them wither and die. that said I did expect more from Eden last night, please let him find some form in the next 3 weeks, I want to see him running at defenders with pace again and trying to score
-
Show me a forum and I will post it ???
-
I'm gonna put money on him scoring tomorrow. Hes due a Worldie performance for us, I'm thinking we'll smack them bitches up 3-0 and a nice 2-1 at home, then PSG can fuck off where they need to be, in the losers pile. C'mon Eden time to shine !!!

Indeed - it's not just the unbeaten run, the players look happy, motivated and are working their socks off, playing with desire and giving it a go. I see people being critical thst we have drawn games and played Matic/Mikel. I'm surprised tbh - Mikel has been outstanding - I have slated him in the past, but fair play to him, he stepped up when we needed him. This Newcastle team was so poor, they are almost as bad as Villa. People complaining about WBA draw and Everton need to understand that they are not easy games, Pulis is a great manager and has his teams well organised and drilled. Martinez is a decent manager and his teams are always tricky. Look at what Raneiri is achieving with a team of arguably 'nobody's' total squad cost of £22million! As for the UTD game - DeGea had a worldie against us, it's that simple, we done enough to win that game. As usual against Sunderland DeGea was shit. I just don't get the critiscism of Guus - he's steadied the ship, got the players motivated again, put us on a run of unbeaten games that nobody else in the league is matching, and has us looking like a good bet as a Cup Team. Obviously we need an overhaul in the summer, but right now we are seeing close to the best this squad can achieve IMHO. Let us not also forget that RLC and Traore are gettin minutes, which was also demanded and has been delivered. KTBFFH

Spot on and especially this season where any team seems like it can beat another team - maddest season ever at the moment
-
I would support Pizy in that role - always level headed and has been around for some years on the TC roller coaster
-
Yeah that well known media commentator Roman, has suddenly turned into Harry Redknap the second coming and discussing the summer this is is all bollox IMHO
-
Really? You haven't seen 'any' improvement under Guus? Strange reaction IMHO - Guus is doing a decent job with what he has, yes we would always want more, but at least the team is playing with a bit of pride now...
-
Exactly - look at RANIERI nobody would have predicted that
-
This is exactly the reason why we are known as a 'Classless Club' Look at how United managed the end of Neville, Scholes and Gigg's careers - that's EXACTLY how you do it! But yet again, we shoot ourselves in the foot like a bunch of fucking amateurs! what message does this send to people at the club? Yeah dedicate your whole playing career to us and we will fuck you out of the door whenever is convenient. After the Lampard fiasco - I thought we might perhaps have learned something - but oh no, typical fucking Chelsea - we learnt nothing and then made an even bigger balls up of the situation. So fucking what if Terry is past it - he can sit on the bench and hang around for when he is needed - just having him in the dressing room is enough and a few swashbuckling performances a season will keep everyone happy. Who was that Everton defender who played into his 40's? I'm not saying JT should or could - but he should stay in the family - give him time off to get his coaching badges etc - and then when he retires officially, whack him into a coaching role. We just have no fucking idea how to treat people with respect. JT, Lamps and Didier should all be at the club in a coaching role - those 3 formed the backbone of our team - letting them fuck off anywhere then panicking and calling them back makes us look fucking ridiculous. Instead of the players contracts not being renewed - the Senior Management Team needs a big fucking shake up - that's where I would not be renewing any contracts. We have no direction, no ideology as a club, the last few windows have been pantomime performances - get them out and rebuild from the Top down. Hanging our most consistent player out to dry is just a new low, I never thought this club would stoop to! Sad, very sad...
-
Mr Miyagi is not the answer Daniel son. We need more than wax on / wax off...
-
Is he related to Marko Marin ?????
-
Yup cheaper than Fraud-co worth a gamble - be nice if one paid off eventually
-
Wow - sounds like a great debut. I bet bet if we loaned them Baba as well - he would get into the team of the week. So sad we don't give players a chance here
-
He's as good as gone then - buy back clause is sensible! Good luck to the lad - I'd choose Norwich out of those 3 although Boro should get promoted this season, could be a good move, celebrate winning something and then into the PL
-
Lol - I must say I think our Board have made some gaffs, but I would take tgem over Woodward ANY day
-
I know in there past I have been critical of Mikel, especially when watching him play for his country, he seemed so dynamic then and so utterly ridiculous for us, but since Guus has arrived - just WOW at his transformation! Im now sitting here feeling so sorry for the lad, having this type of performance in his locker all along and never being allowed to use it. I honestly think he's a contender for Player of the season right now. I know, that's a massive turnaround - but he has been simply amazing, like a new signing. Yes, occasionally he still lets people ghost past him - but that's just how he is. So can't beat him up too much on that - when he offers so much more in midfield. Guus has resurrected his career from nowhere
