It really wasn't that difficult to see for me. We've been screaming for a player like Cesc in the pivot for years. -

I am not going to bury my head in the ground like an ostrich. We have a lot of bureaucratic problems in Egypt and obsolete laws. But things are changing and he will be fine. He is a role model for A LOT of people, especially youngsters in Egypt. He will be fine.

Tim Sherwood seems like such a pub guy, how did he turn into a football manager? Poor guy probably just wants a pint of Fosters on the touchline..

It will probably be Eden Hazard who will win Chelsea Player Of The Year this season, but I think that a huge mentioning has to go out to this guy - Cesar!
In all honesty, he has been our most consistent player this whole season. He just doesn't do anything wrong. I am amazed by him every game, a bloody trooper. Him and the defense should get an extra award, just to make sure.

Amazing performance by David Luiz 4!
Him and Matic are just incredibly strong and dynamic in midfield. Awesome to see how much more versatile we are now with Matic in the side. Ramires and David Luiz, Frank Lampard and Mikel...that should give is the strength required in the DM area for next years Champions League.

I am devastated. I can't believe it. Rationally, it all makes sense, but then again it makes no fucking sense. Him and David Luiz are the players I got detached to the most over these last years, and now one of my favorite players ever is leaving for the club I hate most. It makes no sense. I actually feel "heartbroken" over this.

I would be devastated if he would leave, but more so if he would join Manchester United, the club I have love to hate. It is a real real shame. I understand that José hates "strong" players in the sense that they think their place is for granted. Given all the problems we have had with player power over the last decade I can also see that he wants to prevent this early on, but I just can't quite believe that he is willing to do this.
And if it is actually Juan that is pushing forward the deal, well, it's football fans heartbreak syndrome on my side. I just love to watch him play. Ever since he joined us, it was like a breath of fresh air and a genuinely positive character after all the Maloudas and Anelkas we have had. I understand that he wants to play more regualerly as it is a WC year...but fuck it. Seeing him blogging about Manchester soon and how he thanks us for our support is actually unbearable.

All senimants aside Mata is too good to be a benchwarmer. We have to show Mata the respect he deserves and if Mourinho is indeed planning to displace him for the long term, some sense emanates in selling. Nonetheless, nobody can convice me that selling Mata to Man United in January is good for the club, even at "37 million pounds".
Mata may not bring United a title, but like Chelsea two years ago, he has everything to reinvigorate and strenghten their team enormousley. Selling in January aswell, when we need strength to compete with City is also questionable for a club that are quitely challenging for the title, despite rebuffs from Mourinho to the contrary. An injury/suspension to any of our three currently preffered players can also be instantly mitigated with Mata providing equal qualities (and maybe more as a number 10 offensivley than the three currently).
That said it's world cup year and I feel for Mata deeply. Mourinho is the main man and it is he who ultimatley makes the decisions. I honestly do think that our wingers tracking back, Matic and Ramires in midfield and our defensive partnership combine to make a potent enough defensive unit for Mata to be given some freedom to attack with a reduced burden on him defensivley. IMO that is a viable option for a lot of games, although Mata can easily demand a greater role in most other clubs, I do still feel Mourinho will give Mata chances in the second half of the season in steaking a claim for his spot. Moreover, the handful of games Mata's had to prove himself on the pitch IMHO doesn't suffice adequate scrutiny in determining categorically that we can let our best player for the last two seasons, the top assist maker in the EPL last year and quite simply a worldclass player like Mata to leave our club.
Maybe it is sentimant speaking now but as much sense as some some arguments make it just doesn't feel right to let the humble and classy 25 year old Mata leave with his peak approaching (especially to United) and undoutebly provide a club with the world class qualities he's cultivated over the years at Chelsea.

i don't quite get that point with the spanish national team. the players starting in midfield for spain is pretty much the monolith of the barca-midfield. i am not surprised that mata can't get in that squad just yet. that, however, doesn't reflect at all about his form for us and in the premier league in which he, apart from Van Persie, has been probably the best player last season. the spain-argument, i think, is coming from the "jose is always right" brigade who just looking for any old argument. (not saying you are one of them, meetdoscar )

it would break my heart if Mata leaves under these circumstances. he is such an elegant and subtile player. maybe Mou wants to flex his muscles and make a stance who is boss or whatever, but i don`t know how you can say that he has been below par when he only played that little. hopefully he gets his chance and can play in the middle with oscar just as Jose said in the sky interview today.
Oscar is strong and ahead if Mata, true. But why is Jose taking this weird road again after the Joe Cole Scenario. I don`t understand why he isn´t dealing with this quietly behind the scenes.

It is laughable to see how people are turning against José all of a sudden. What do you guys expect ? Him coming in, waving his hands and all of a sudden we sweep away all the teams in front of us ? No, José knows this is again a difficult season for him and for the team because we still need to find our feed and so does he.
It is football, thankfully it is unpredictable. Of course it feels shit losing two games in a row in a disappointing fashion but people aiming at Mourinho...
