I was not having a go at him bro. I am just stating that his love for the club and his belief that he still can carry on for Chelsea which majority of us believe he can do too has probably caused him to say the truth now to get the fans to back the campaign to give him a contract. Because I would not be surprised after all if he is offered one if he keeps up with his solid form tillt he end of the season.

Terry has played this quite smart tbh. He knows by leaking the news out to the media and public that he has not been offered a new contract, that it will cause huge uproar. If he left it till the end of the season, less time to sort out but now our club is going to be hounded by the media and fans alike and maybe that will work to his advantage. Not criticizing him but just feel it was not 100% necessary to confirm that. I mean look at City. Pellegrini probably knows he is leaving at the end of the season and I would not be surprised if he knew right from the beginning of the season however he has adhered with the club to keep that completely internal because if it does get leaked out, it could have an adverse affect and create more headlines but while it is kept underlipped, the team are joint 2nd in the league and are aguably a lot of people's favourites to regain the title and also in the running for the quadruple. Now, any time we keep a clean sheet, the media are going to jump on the bandwagon straight away and be like "Chelsea are ludicrous to not be offering JT a contract", "this performance proves he is worthy of another year" and "what are the club thinking" etc. I just don't know if it was totally right to do that because now all of a sudden if he is offered a contract all of a sudden, you will get many headlines about Roman falling under fan pressure and it was reluctant decision. Similar to the Di Matteo appointment after winning the UCL. It does not change the fact that I think the club will be mad not to offer him a contract but just feel this will create unneccessary headlines. Hopefully it does not affect the team's performance though.

Azpi has done well in his offensive displays under Hiddink but there are games where I would like to see Baba given extended run in the team. He may not be the best defender but for games we are looking to win, I always feel it is a vital addition to have two natural attacking full backs or at least one. For instance against United, I would have Azpi and Baba as fullbacks. Whoever United put on the right wing will have so much difficulties tracking Baba's runs and his link ups with Hazard and we should look to exploit it rather than have Azpi and Brana. Mata is not good at tracking back. Lingard is decent, nothing more and he too will not be able to handle Baba's attacking runs and I also think Babab can handle him defensively. Martial is going to cause any of our fullbacks problem, regardless who is at RB, but he went past Ivanovic way too many times at OT and would like to see Azpi and Baba. Baba can only improve his defensive displays with more game time. That is more hope though because I have no doubt Azpi and Ivanovic will be fullbacks against Watford and United and prob every other PL game. Bellerin for instance was an awful defender when he first got his run in with Arsenal at RB but as he has been trusted to play more you can see how much his defensive displays has improved even though it is not top notch. I believe the same can happen with Baba. After all he made the most successful tackles IIRC in the Bundesliga last season and he is only 21. I hope whoever the new manager is realises his potential and uses it. Today looked like a kid who was eager to prove himself and accomplished his mission.

City need some defenders. Watch them do a Lampard, nick Terry from us and him scored a header next season against us. I called it. Can you imagine. Not a ludicrous thought considering Terry's amazing goal record for a defender.
-
Baffled. I mean he started the season off quite bad like the rest of the team but since Hiddink has come in he has been much more solid. WTF is going on. He is worthy of a 1 year deal. Does not make sense at all.

Just great football and we kept our momentum from the first to last minute. Oscar, Hazard, Fabregas, RLC were all fantastic. Nice to see Traore come on and get a goal too. People talk about Bamford but I honestly think Traore is a better talent. I know the Eredivisie is not on the PL level but he got 17 goals last season at the age of 19 which is fantastic. Happy for him. But another one I am proud for is Baba. Was fantastic all afternoon. Won nearly every single tussle and timed every single attacking run to perfection. Really looked like Ashley Cole in his prime today. Now time to look forward to the 5th round draw

Takes a lot of confidence to be on such a barren goal spell then have the confidence to be firm and state you want to take the penalty. Because if he misses all of a sudden, he will take more battering from the media and fans but he took the penalty in his usual cool style and converted cooly. So glad for him. Goal and assist for him. Hopefully onwards and upwards from this

Such a shame Hazard has not scored. Has been brilliant to watch. Baba has been excellent too as has Fabregas. But Oscar..... wehre did that come from

http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/01/hiddink--beautiful-times-can-come.html 'He had an injury and then another in the Palace game and it creates an unstable situation,' explained the Dutchman. 'Hopefully he is coming back to the way he was before and then we can enjoy him. That's why he needs training and also game fitness, which you only get by playing games. 'I have huge hope that he will get back to his best. He is young, for him and the club beautiful times can come. When Hazard gets his rhythm back in the coming weeks, he will be of big value for Chelsea. He is a very important player, a very good player, it's nice to see his way of training.'

Hazard is definitely starting this. You only have to look at Hiddink's words on Hazard before the game to know.

Come on pal. What is the irony? 4 games without scoring? Or is it something else. Fair enough. I always praised Lukaku but I never slated Costa off. I come in here and give him compliments when he performs well but I also do the same with Costa. But as you said it was mainly DF who always use to slate Costa. I have always been a big fan of Costa. One thing I did mention in here though when Costa was not really performing is that I think Lukaku has improved his overall game and he now his an all round striker. Good thing is Costa is showing a lot of these traits again now. Looks beastly.
-
What do you want/expect people to say though? He has had a mini drought. Big deal. People should start suddenly start coming into the thread and talking about that? The thing is he is still only 22, has 19 goals already for the season, 15 of those in the league. At this rate he should easily get past 20 league goals which is a fantastic achievement.
-
Well I don't think he is world class but I am actually a big fan of his although I do reckon he has the odd error prone in him, I never get the panic feeling when he is in our team. I hope and assume we get a CB in the summer but I hope Cahill is here because I feel he is a useful player for the squad. I think a lot of big teams would take him, albeit a squad player role but I still think he has a lot of qualities. Well that is where I differ. Because I think he reads the game quite well and for a CB he is not very slow, not very fast. He is in between. Yeah, you are right about Zouma. He probably is better with Terry in the team and that is because Terry is a better leader and organiser. However Zouma and Cahill did well against Arsenal tbh. And FWIW I am quite positive that Cahill will be here for the next few years.
-
I hope so. The worry is his contract runs out this summer so hopefully he signs that contract first. Very exciting player and is very good at RB and CB. Must be one of the fastest defenders around as well which is always a plus.
-
Well you have another thing coming if you think Terry will not get worse with age and can carry playing every game next season because he can't. This season he had made a lot more mistakes albeit he has been more solid in recent games. Also Cahill is English as well so vital we keep him and still good to have as a squad player.
-
What a bloody goal he scored this evening for our U21 against Tottenham from the half way line
-
Yes, Benzema was definitely offside. No two-ways about it. The week before they did very well to go to Villareal and get a draw there. Played very well too.
-
He would not have come to us anyway. He always said he wanted to stay in Italy and Juventus would of bought him regardless.
-
I rate Lewa but he would get a lot more criticism if he was playing over here imo. I think he is a world class striker but I don't think if he was here, all of a sudden he would be on 20 goals this season. He is in a team where he is getting regular chances to score while Costa has not had the same type of service. I mean last season to put in perspective, Costa got 20 goals in 24 starts in a much tougher league while Lewa only got 17 from 28 starts in the Bundesliga. Costa deserves a lot more credit tbh. I would not say Lewa is miles ahead of him at all. This season he has been on another level but you put Costa in that Bayern team, I doubt you would see anyone talking about his flaws.
-
Even Aguero, the best striker in the league which most people agree with has his droughts where he sometimes goes 5-6 games without scoring. Costa is no different. But when they are on form, they really are on form.
-
What an impact. Comes on and gets a goal and assist within the space of 10 minutes. Only posted this because I fear he has got a bad injury and think it is one that could keep him out for months. Will be a real shame.
-
Yes, but John Terry is 35 and next season should not be starting regularly. Cahill might have lost his place but it is vital we keep him on board.

I hope we don't see a repeat of the Scunthorpe game where we literally play our strongrest team. Just not necessary with a PL game 3 days after. When we played our best team against Scunthorpe we had a PL game against WBA 3 days after as well and ended up drawing that game. I want a good team but no harm in starting the likes of Kenedy, RLC and hopefully even Baba. Many people are excluding Pedro from their line ups. He should defo be a starter. He only had a stomach bug on the weekend and he needs some confidence. If Pato gets his move sorted by Thursday, I wonder if he will be involved or possibly even start because I think with the recent niggles Costa has been getting it is ideal that he is not starting this match, especially with Watford 3 days after. I would have Remy as a bang on starter if his future was not up in the air even though he looked completely off the boil against Arsenal. However if Hiddink plans on keeping him around, may be a good idea to start him. I expect/hope to see Bego, Cahill, Baba, Zouma, RLC, Hazard, Pedro and Kenedy all in the starting 11. Hopefully Remy too because if no one is going to sign him permanently we should not be loaning him and we should be giving him game time in that case.

Mikel is a decent long passer. His long range passing is impressive. I remember stating it here before but he provided a fantastic assist for Drogba when we battered Portsmouth a few seasons ago. Also I remember when we beat Cardiff in the FA Cup a few seasons ago, he did something very similar for Drogba. He has a knack for trying that sort of pass. I think he done the same last season for one of our strikers who was not able to put the ball in the back of the net. Cannot remember specifically who though. I know you aren't a big fn and regularly criticize him but he is no way the bad player you make him to be. You mentioned the thing about Alexis but you did not mention that apart from that he was solid and usually is under Hiddink. He is very composed on the ball as well which I like about him. Let's enjoy that ankle breaker he performed on Ramsey And to try to compare Mikel and Flamini is ridiculous. Flamini is awful and no way near the same league as Mikel. While Coquelin has been injured, Arsenal would have taken Mikel in a heartbeat.
