Poined it out before but Tomori is a real talent. A real dark horse who is not mentioned much. What a save that was from the keeper from that Palmer shot btw.
-
You probably said that about Alii too. Difference was Tottenham took a chance and now we will say he is good enough. I pointed out before but Alli was not even an U21 international regular last season which says everything. If Alli was here you would be saying the same. I agree too but it is difficult for them to get a chance because we will continue to buy and the managers are under pressure to deliver trophies.
-
Well that is not quite true is it. The likes of Alli have the attitude and is playing because he is at a team who gives young ones chances. The likes of Baker and Musonda have the right attitude but it is just ten times more difficult to play here. I don't think Dembele realistically thinks he can break his way in the team for a long while because of what history shows. He knwos what he is getting himself in for. Traore will likely be ahead of him and he will have a long way to prove himself. What we can offer more than other teams is better wages and imo if he chooses us over a lot ofther teams, it is purely down to money.
-
Yes, but you go to a club with the realistic hope that you will get into the team. We don't exactly have a good track record of doing that. But like you said, maybe he is fine with being paid nice wages and going out on loan and hoping one day he will force his way into the team.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10248263/chelsea-interested-in-signing-fulham-striker-moussa-dembele If we do pursue this, it shows what is wrong with our club's philosophy. Yes, I know he is out of contract and has potential but so do Traore, Solanke and Abraham. What message does it send out to them if we are going after the likes of Dembele. Yes, Falcao and probably, Remy and Pato are not going to be here next season but the new manager will be going after experience anyway. It is not like Dembele will be 2nd or probably even 3rd striker because Conte will want experienced back up strikers. I have watched Dembele and he is very good prospect but if he comes here, on his behalf the only way it makes sense for him is that it will mean he and his family will be financially secure. Footballing wise it really does not make sense because he will not play here. Then for us we already have Abraham and Solanke who have serious potential. Reality is if he comes he comes here he will play pre-season and stay for a bit before going out on loan then it is the same vicous cycle. We don't have anything to lose going after him but some of the academy youngsters too.

So many mixed opinions on him. I thought he was very good yesterday. Had a couple moments of lapses in concentration but can you imagine if the rest of our team mates could raise their game. You would see a better player. Iwobi for instance who has burst on to the scene at Arsenal has been helped that whenever he is good the rest of the team he is playing with is also playing good which makes him stand out more. At times yesterday, he looked like the only one trying to make something happen. I definitely would say he is one who is exempt from blame yesterday. Just hope he goes from strength to strength next season. Too much talent, which should not be wasted.
-
Even when he had a bad off game, idiots were looking to play him down and use that as evidence to say it was right selling him Yeah, again Mourinho, thank you very much If there is one manager who should be given the title of head coach it is Mourinho. Look how he fucked us over here.

It is about time to show players the hard way when they are consistently below-par every game. Only now action is being taken...
-
In youth level, yes in some aspects. He is great when he is on the ball and seeing the bigger picture. He will have a long, long, long way to come to the level of KDB though.
-
So we will play PSG. They deserved it over the 90 mins. They have a very powerful team and probably more powerful than our team. I think the fact they were developed more than Real Madrid physically wise influenced things today. They impressed me though. Couple players for them have started for PSG's first team and featured quite a bit over the season for the first team. Jean Kevin-Agustin and Christopher Nkunu. You can see why as well. Both were very impressive. Nkunu for me was the best player on the pitch. Should be a very tight game on Monday. Looking forward to it.
-
He plays as a number 10. Can equally play out wide as well. I would say he is very similar to KDB tbh. Both have very good technique, both are no.10 who can also play out wide and both in rare cases can also do a job in the centre of midfield. Be very interesting to see his next step next season. Hopefully he can get a good loan move somewhere. Wonder if it will be in the Championship or Vitesse.
-
He has been fantastic this season. He admitted himself that he was disappointed with how he performed last season as a whole. He has been a completely different story this season. Fantastic virtually every game for U19/U21. 15 goals for a player who is not a striker and does not take penalties says it all. Been fantastic. Will not be surprised to see him make his first team debut by some point come end of the season.
-
When you consider who we had in our success last season. Brown, Christensen, Musonda, Boga, Solanke, RLC and all of them are unavailable due to loans and being over aged etc, it is amazing to see that the next crop have slotted in so well. Just shows how fanatstic the youth set up is and how talented the youngsters are. Clarke-Salter is a rock and deservedly got his first team debut against Villa. Another one who goes under the radar but is a huge talent is Tomori. Very fast, strong, good in the air, can play full back and CB very well. He most notably broke Diego Costa's nose in that training accident Bring on PSG or Real!
-
Honestly. It is annoying. You got the likes of Quintero, Feruz and some other irrelevant youngsters there. Yet, Palmer who is one of our best academy talents has not got a thread. People might want to discuss in his thread but when they look into the player's section and see it is not there, people will not bother because here you expect to find match articles. Not player's threads. Our best academy talents should have there own threads. They all do apart from Palmer and it is not in here
-
@Special Juan @Jason can you move this to the player thread now. There is a player's thread which he should be in. Not here. Thanks. Hopefully that does the trick.
-
I needed to get the MODS attention. Soz In all seriousness, can we move this now please?
-
Another fantastic goal. Started by him, finished by him. The game is live on BT Sport now. Semi finals of Uefa Youth League. 1-0 up. 15th goal of the season. Hello mods. Player thread please

I can't beleive I had to constantly engage in debates about who is better between the two. Coutinho is miles better than Oscar. Coutinho has actually started to show signs of consistent performances recently. He is actually into double figures for the season and is starting to look like the quality player I knew he was. Even Brazil have dropped him from their starting 11 now. That is how bad he has regressed. Coutinho would improve our team miles if we had him. I don't think Oscar is better than Coutinho at one thing because even his pressing seems non-existent now. He gets bullied off the ball way too easily and has only had 3 really good games for us this season. Swansea, Palace and MK Dons. That is it.
-
All I can say to that is Oscar might be younger and not fully developed but he has got more than enough chances here. The players that you see people moaning about are justified by 1 because we know they did not get enough chances or 2, they are better than the ones we kept here (Mata and KDB are better than Oscar).
-
So what is your explanation for the lack of dicussion in Kalou's thread? He is one who we sold who has gone on to score goals for fun. The truth is KDB is a world class player and many of us at the time were annoyed he was not given enough chances. He was so young at the time too. If Oscar leaves and does wonders at his new club that is good for him however I would not say we made the wrong decision because his time here has been full of inconsistent performances. Players like Lukaku and KDB were let go too early without being given the minutes to prove themselves hence the reactions. Players like Kalou and co were sold and got fair share of minutes and were inconsistent but ultimately do I think the move was best for us and player? Yes.
-
Well Kalou is doing tremendously well at Hertha Berlin and did so at Lille. Look at his thread. And he was better fo us than Oscar was for us, so I disagree with that.
-
No. Because KDB was not given much of an opportunity here. Oscar has played loads of games for us and been consistently average so major difference.
-
Well his stats over seasons show that he seems to manage a goal or an assist at least every other game. But you are right, there are people who have knee-jerk reactions to when a player is off form. Costa, Fabregas etc. Not aimed at you Tomo, but he finally silenced people who said he is not a big game player.
-
Not sure. I only thought it was out of Liverpool and Spurs. Alli would never have joined under Mourinho anyway. If he did, he would be out on loan or in the U21. Mourinho leaving might actually give us hope of keeping hold on to Musonda.
-
I tell you what I remember. KDB impressing in pre-season and then bossed our first game of the season against Hull at a young age. He obivously had 1 bad game after and one gaainst Swindon about couple weeks later but it was clear he had talent from the go. But Mourinho being the person he is and not giving a fuck about the future, made a mistake and it has shot us in the foot. I never wanted him gone because I knew he was going to be a quality player. No other manager would have got rid of him and Lukaku the way Mourinho did. You have to give them game time to prove themselves. Can you imagine what Mourinho would do if he had the likes of Kane and Alli at his disposal.
