How are United making all these transfers and contemplating more, without one sale yet. Wasn't United making staff redundant because their financial situation was supposed to be so bleak...

Yep, agreed but he won't go Saudi. He is already a multi-millionaire who in his last few years, would want to prove himself after a dismal season. He has been on at least £300k p/w or the last 5 years, so money won't be a factor to make him go Saudi. Also has a young family and I don't imagine his partner wanting to go Saudi to live. He defo will wait for a move to a London team such as Fulham or West Ham and if not feasible other teams outside London, then his last option would be Europe.

If you think it is a waste of money due to who we already have, that is fair but to call him bang average is just stupid. Him and KDH is completely different. Guehi is an established England international and recent FA Cup winner and is courted by the biggest teams. KDH with all respect was never going to be a regular starter here. Guehi is a very good defender.
-
I wouldn't take Guehi right now, only because I don't think the money is worth it, but calling him bang average is just ridiculous. He is a very good CB. No doubts about it. There is a reason that he is being courted by CL clubs and the current PL champions.

I am surprised they haven't gone or him. Would not be surprised to see them try and Grealish now...

Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli both wanted him but he wants to stay in the PL. Villa too. I think people have judged him as if he is the finished article. He scored 6 goals and 7 goals in the league past 2 seasons. Not great, but in a awful team set up, it is decent, considering how bad United have been. Had a brilliant performance at the Bridge couple seasons ago in that dramatic game. But. yeah only 21. I like that he doesn't hide and always willing to try and beat his man and have a go. He needs to work on this, but I think he may surprise people in a few years.

I would get it if we was not in for Simons but I don't get going for both. It seems overkill and players will not be happy. Palmer will start majority of games at no.10, you would imagine. Sometimes he will be out on the wide right, but then the AM role, Enzo often plays there and Estevao can play there too. Also, I get Estevao is young, but we all have seen he has the talent, so where does he fit in. I was not expecting Gittens to start, but we now have him, Neto and Simons and Garnacho if they join who both can play there. Seems too much players. If Simons comes, I think that LW spot becomes his when Palmer is in the no.10 role so then we have how many players waiting to come of bench? This season it is good to have a big squad, but we don't want a scenario where players get unhappy quick time and rotating all the time is not good for cohesion. Let's see.
-
Simons has creativity and also can score goals. Last season he got 10 goals and 7 assists in 25 league appearances, whilst in 23/24 he got 8 goals and 11 assists in 32 league appearances. So that shows he has a eye or goal and can create too. Also his shooting from long range is very good. Palmer can do it here and there but Simons is the only one really, if he was to join who can hit rockets.

I think I would prefer he joins a good Championship team, such as Ipswich. Sunderland will be most likely around the relegation zone and won't create much chances and he may struggle to make a real impact there. I remember when Abraham went on loan to Swansea who were in the prem and he started fairly well, then after struggled to make an impact and was frozen out. Following season, he joined Villa on loan who were in the Championship and helped fire them to promotion. Scored 26 goals in 40 games when I check which was a phenomenal record Following season, he was our no.1 striker. I felt the Swansea loan was good but a wake up call. Guiu at the same age has not had no way near the same experience Abraham did and that is why I think it is important we make him develop without throwing him into the PL and he struggles. I also would say that Abraham was ahead of development than Guiu is at the same age and had more first team competitive football. I would prefer he goes to a premiership chasing team such as Leicester, Ipswich or Coventry where Lamps is and then take it from there.

I just see a bunch of slide tackles 😄. If I am bring honest, I was hoping to see more evidence of his ability on the ball. This vid showed mainly slide tackles and last ditch challenges, which looked a bit risky.

Barca bought Joan Garcia from Espanyol, who is highly rated. He will be their no.1 this season.
-
He earns near the amount already, so definitely will be wanting more than that. He is a key player but replaceable, but he defo will be wanting to be amongst the top earners for them, if he isn't already. We won't offer more than what PSG are currently offering. I am sure.
-
I think it is clear that his wages are sky high, otherwise a new deal would have been agreed.
-
If you exclude penalties, they have scored the same amount of goals last season.
-
I like KDH, but for his own sake he needs to leave. He just simply will not play with the new additions. So he should be pushing for move himself.f Even if he says he wants to fight for his place, realistically his chances will still be minor. And we are in all the serious competitions this season. No more UECL.
-
Never heard of him. Surprised that at 18 he had not made a professional appearance for Palace, if he is considered such a talent. Time will tell.
-
Defo. From open play, they scored the same amount of goals. Brentford should not be bullied into selling him. He is underrated and underappreciated. Wissa is pushing for a move as well and using the 'last chance to play in UCL' narrative, however Brentford should not budge. They have already lost their manager and replaced him with a rookie. Lost their captain to Arsenal. Lost their best player to United. They need to be very careful now. They are very good at selling players and replacing, but losin two key attackers in this window will be a huge loss.

Club World Cup Final 2025 - Chelsea 3-0 PSG
Stats replied to ZAPHOD2319's topic in Chelsea Match Chat
Incorrect. Nice beat PSG on PSG's own turf before Strasbourg beat them. -
I know we have played better opposition but Tosin and Chalobah have been immense at the back. Won everything and complimented each other well. Both athletic, fast and strong. I like it. Gusto was much assured this evening also. Caicedo does what Caicedo does and what a way for Pedro to announce himself. In the final we go!
-
Bring Jackson on for JP now. Wrap Pedro up in cotton wool after that challenge.
-
I think he will be a monster there. They have too much creativity for him not score. Odegaard, Eze and Saka have too much ability to create loads of chances. He will score for fun I reckon.
-
Looks ominous indeed. I would not be surprised to see them get Rodrygo too. Especially if Martinelli leaves.

He plays predominantly on the RW, but can play the AM role too. But because of his good dribbling and crossing , Arteta likes him on the right. Long term wise, if he stays, you would imagine he will take the AM role as Saka's spot is not being shifted. I am not sure what position Nwaneri prefers though and this may be a big part of his decision to sign a contract or not. Similarly to Lewis-Skelly, I can't help but think Nwaneri's agent is trying to muster the best possible deal by dragging other clubs into it, to get a better deal, even though I think it is more likely that Nwaneri would consider leaving than MLS. However, Nwaneri swapping Arsenal to Chelsea would make no sense. He has been part of Arsenal's squad when he was 17 and started a number of games when Saka was out and was very impressive. Since Saka returned his minutes has been reduced, which has annoyed Arsenal fans, but again he was just 17 at the time, so Arteta probably was biding his time with him. Either way, if Nwaneri joins us, he will not be joining to be loaned out. If he moves from Arsenal, he will be moving to play, not be loaned out. If he wanted the best opportunity, he is best of moving abroad. But I think he will stay once he is given assurances. Hutchinson was not part of Arsenal's first team squad. Nwaneri was and has played several times for them this season. Reminds me of Foden, when he was coming up at City and was slightly older than Nwaneri is now and people were bemused that Pep never gave him chances, then when David Silva left, he got his chance and he kicked on. But he had to wait patiently for his chance. I would take him here of course because I think Nwaneri is a top talent, but being honest, him moving here would make no sense to me and I don't buy it at all.

Arsenal's end I get it. They want more wingers. Sterling was a failed loan and is back at us. Trossard's future is uncertain and is in his 30s. Madueke is young and suits the direct wingers, Arteta likes to have. So they need back ups. Saka was out for a while last season and while they have Nwaneri, he also has not signed new contract yet and Arteta may see him as a no.10. But for Madueke's sense, does not make much sense as he is going to one club being a rotational player to another one where he is rotational/back-up.

That is 2 of our brighter prospects who have had to retire due to injuries. Him and Izzy Brown who were both part of that youth team who said records. So sad. He had so much bad luck with injuries at us and even even after he left. Was always going to be difficult for him. Must be a huge mental challenge for him to kick on, especially when he loves football and I remember his celebration when he scored his first ever goal for us, how much that meant to him. Not surprised by his decision though. He was super talented and you wonder where he would be if not for his injuries.
