Altough Adidas did a great Job on the Home Kits (the last not so good looking was 09/10) and on most of our Away and 3rd kitsin the last few years,I have to say that I sometimes miss the good ,,old'' times when Adidas used to produce simple but gorgeous kits.Like in the 06/07 season,when we had 3 amazing shirts.I don't think this years 3rd is ugly,but not that good either.

I think the problem of recent years doesn´t only lies in the defence.The midfield of the top 6 Club from the 2000´s until 2011 there were only the best midfield players at the likes of Chelsea (Lamps in his prime,Ballack,Maka,Essien..),United (Scholes,Hargreaves..),Arsenal (Fabregas,Viera,Pires..)or even Liverpool (Gerrard in his prime,Alonso..).4-3-3 was often the formation,in which the teams excelled at this time with three class midfielders,who gave the teams stability and goals (LAMPARD!!).But then the teams changed their concentration from the center of the field to the wings and hired as many good wingers as they could and ignored their stability in midfield.So got results in top-games like 8-2 or 6-0 or 4-0 a possibility and you can count atleast 5 such games in a single PL season,which was unthinkable in 2007 for example.

He still has something to offer despite his age.Yes the last kick of the ball for Didier sounds romantic,but he is a legend anyway,so if he signs a 1-year contract and scores say 5 goals in 15 apps no one can complain.

For this little money we get one of the best Left-backs in world football,which is a bargain. Couldn't have asked more from the board.We finally,after so many years,erased our weaknesses in signing a top striker,top midfielder and a top fullback.

The chip from this difficult angle against Barcelona will always standout for me,because it was one of my first memories as a Chelsea Fan.I will never forget that genius goal.

Barbara, Costa's technique isn't as bad as you make it out to be.With his great physical attributes he is also able to combine his ball skills with his strength,in many of his goals he shook off the defender before he shot. And consider we have many player in our squad who are good on the ball like Hazard,Oscar,Willian,Fabregas or even Matic who also has decent technique.Costa also fits very good in Mourinho's counter-attacking system.

Costa is a way better finisher than Benzema.Costa is better in terms of heading and handling the pressure (remember the build up to the penalty at the Bridge)aswell,Benzema more often than not goes missing in big games.He also scored 15-20 goals in the last season,playing the second fiddle to Falcao,which negates your last sentence.

He was really inconsistent in most of his RM spell aswell.
