  1. We'll do it. I think. I hope. Maybe. If we're lucky. Fuck. Scared. Help.
  2. Really thought Moses would start. If Oscar is starting out left though......................
  3. From what I've read he's more like Isla than Valencia; not bursting pace but can easily play anywhere pretty much on the right side. When he plays as a winger he apparently hugs the touchline and gets the cross in instead of cutting inside. I'll welcome him though if he's talented regardless how he plays. Love our academy.
  4. What's the minute silence for this time? It feels like 'Pool have a minute silence before every other game at the moment.
  5. Turtles are the coolest (well-known) animals alive. I mean c'mon, THEY ARE BASICALLY SEA DINOSAURS WITH SHELLS!
  6. Head says Liverpool win (sorry) but logic makes me think it'll be a draw. I never see us winning at Anfield and I hate it. Probably the only team in the league aside from Man City where I'm surprised if we get points away from home. Need to change that.
  7. Balotelli, Santon, Mikel, Sinclair, Woods, Varane, Morata, Hutchinson (well, he tried to anyway but the injury stopped that), Nacho.... Someone like Wenger can try bringing through 20 players - but only 3 or so will end up playing at a top club. Mourinho however selects which players can play for top clubs, and brings them through. Much more efficient.
  8. No, Casemiro was brought in on loan for Real Madrid's B team to provide midfield depth. However, Mourinho has just given this young Brazilian midfielder a start (and his debut) for one of the greatest clubs in the world's senior team. Yes, amazing opportunity. Morata who he's bleeding in is also on the bench.
  9. Mourinho is letting Casemiro and Nacho both start vs. Betis. But no, he doesn't let a club's young talent or homegrown players get a shot does he...
  10. WHAT DO PEOPLE SEE IN THAT AWAY KIT!? IT LOOKS LIKE A PENSIONER'S GOLFING TOP
  11. Chalobah losing the ball too much. Watford not playing too well. Kane however is one of the best players on the pitch.
  12. Chalobah & Kane both playing vs. eachother. Being broadcasted on TV, so streams will be available for it. 10 mins in. 0-0.
  13. So. Cardiff City - Promoted. If Watford don't do the business tomorrow, Hull City - Promoted. I'm starting to feel like Watford are losing it and won't be in the PL next season which'd be a shame. If Watford don't come up I hope Brighton do for a few reasons. 1: I love Gus. 2: They play bloody sexy football! Kinda like a less talented Swansea with less possession and more 'hurry up and score' about them.
  14. Can Marin play in this competition? I'd play him in the final personally.
  15. So.. am I the only one thinking that Davey is actually the brightest prospect in our youth ranks yet to play a senior game? He's a very no-nonsense defender. Reminds me of Shawcross before he became a maniac.
  16. I like Swift. Good passer. Reminds me of, err, Josh of a few seasons ago if i'm honest. Just with more pace and probably lesser vision.
  17. That's bad defending from Liverpool that is. Very bad.
  18. I really want to go to Amsterdam and get high with Jose. I get the feeling he'd be the most relaxing person to be around.
  19. Mourinho tried bringing Sinclair through, played Mikel despite him being young and quite a lot of people thinking he'd actually be slotted into the youth team and not the senior team and so-on. At Inter he started Santon and Balotelli's careers. Both are now regulars for their teams in top leagues. In Madrid he's doing the same for Varane and now even Morata. We have an amazing academy collectively, but that doesn't mean every single player is good enough for us. If they are good enough, I'm sure he'll get them into the team.
  20. How is Welbeck in there? As a striker, he's supposed to score, yet he hasn't scored in over 1,000 minutes. He has the worst goal-to-minute ratio in the Premier League currently.
  21. Is it time for Terry to pass the armband over to Luiz? Terry isn't going to be starting every game anymore. He just isn't. His legs can't do it even if his huge heart wants him to. He'll probably play much more than he has this season should Mourinho return during the Summer and likely partner Luiz, though, which is good for everyone, since with or without an armband, he'll remain a leader. What we need now though is a consistent leader. Not just consistent in form (which Luiz has improved on) but consistent in communicating with his players on the pitch, showing his passion each and every game (which Terry does) but most importantly, consistently starting games. This is important as it makes the captain a staple authority amongst the other players. If you have a captain in and out of the team constantly you're less likely to hold him in such a high regard. I hate goalkeepers being captains at clubs which rules out Cech for me. I just feel like a captain should be one who leads by example on a pitch, and being stuck to your spot like a tree for the majority of the game as a top 'keeper in a top team doesn't exactly beam confidence and 'swagger' to other players. Lampard is leaving (we think), and while he's been very important to our spine over the years, as Peace posted not too long ago, he's demonstrated in various games this season and last that he's not exactly a leader on the pitch - just a highly respected player. So even if he does stay, I wouldn't want him being captain. Again, he wouldn't be starting consistently either. So, my reasons for Luiz being named captain for next season are the following: He plays consistently. His form is finally consistent. It looks like he'll be getting the armband at some point, so we may as well get it on him as soon as possible so he can build his leadership & communicating skills to an even higher level. He's loved by fans. He's a good role model both on and off the pitch. He's passionate. He seems like the loyal type. You never see him not trying his best. His emotional connection to the club is already evident as shown by plenty tears of both joy and sadness in his time here already. He's an important member of his National Team and is quickly becoming, if not already one of, our very finest players. And you know what else? It looks like he's about to enter his prime. It could be argued, and probably will be, that Mata, Cole and even Mikel should be considered - but with Cole looking likely to leave after next season I don't see that working; Mata seems more the deputy type & Mikel splits opinion too much. I guess it's not even up for that much debate whether Luiz should or shouldn't be our next captain - I think it's pretty obvious he should be as he's the only proper candidate after Cech. (Cech's positives are he seems like a role model and speaks many languages almost perfectly.) But for the reasons I mentioned, does anyone else feel he should become our captain next season, even with Terry still here? Of course many on here love Terry, myself included, and the majority probably want him to remain captain as long as he's at our club, but sometimes you just have to take sentiment and tradition out of the equation and do what's better for the long-term. I'd propose something like - Luiz ©, Terry (vc), Cech (vc2), Mata (vc3). for next season.
