So we're either getting a huge Bayern - Dortmund rivalry in the final (less likely) which will be fueled even more by the Gotze transfer, or Bayern - Madrid, clearly the 2 best clubs in world football at the moment (in my opinion, anyway). I'm happy with that! Incredible how many finals and semi-finals Bayern make these days.

I just ate some Basel with my dinner, and my prediction is that our players will eat these Basel players in a very similar manor.

I have to say, Feruz doesn't excite me as much as he initially did. He's become really wasteful, and opportunities to score look like they're becoming hard to come by, which is more down to the wingers. To get the most out of him and to get him firing again, I'd try lining up the attack like this next season: Feruz; Cuevas*, Boga, Quintero* That will give him proper wingers to work with on their good feet, with Boga doing the business through the centre and not being wasted out left like has been happening recently. *This is assuming they get slotted into the same squad. This would also be good for Musonda (the good one ) as he'll have top players around him. He can rotate with Boga. I think, on paper, that would be the strongest attack in the country, with these young players even better than some 21 year olds at 'youth' level! The players I've mentioned there also prefer to play crosses along the ground which is better for Feruz considering he's 5'4". Kiwomya is always floating in crosses far too high, as does Boga when out wide.

FINALLY some action!

Just watched all his goals from 2010 up until now. One thing which is evident is that he often tries to do too much, kinda like Torres. Too many swerves, touches, turns etc. He seems to be at his best when, like Torres, he breaks the offside trap and just has the 'keeper to deal with. I think he'd be an upgrade over Torres though. He seems mentally strong, even if he has choked a few times. (No that's not a joke about him being gay(?)). His link-up play is better than Torres, his finishing is probably equal, but his positioning and awareness is leaps and bounds better than anyone we have at the club. Gomez/Torres/Ba/Lukaku (maybe) does look tasty even if history suggests he'll 'flop'.

I think Gomez uses more hair gel than Ronaldo.

I'm against the move since better players are available for the same money, but at the same time, I should probably retract my last post regarding him/Shev/Torres being a trio of flops since as long as he scores against the little teams to get us the 3 points (which we've been failing at this season) he won't really be a failure hopefully.

How were the tactics completely wrong if we controlled much of the first half, were comfortable enough for the second, and the only reason we didn't get the full 3 points was because the ref decided to let the game go on past full time which is when they scored using a player who should have been red carded earlier?

Our owner is the Roman Abramovich. Do you really think he'll allow the likes of Mata and Hazard or whoever break their contracts and leave? He doesn't need money from the sales and would likely put some Russian Mafia hit-men on them if they handed in transfer requests. We're not positive whether it's Roman himself or the board who choose some of our crazy transfers, but regardless who it is, they'll likely spend more money (or at least sign more players for less money) if we fail to get CL football next season than if we do finish in the top 4. They'd want to get us back into the Champions League right away so would waste no time and would buy the finest players available as opposed to being content at getting in the Top 4 again and just adding 1 or 2 nice additions thinking we'll be safe the following season.
