  1. Wow, look at how many words he bolds in his new blog! Clearly attention seeking http://blogs.grada360.com/juanmata/en/2013/04/29/los-anos-pasan-volando/
  2. I know it's unlikely, but if Newcastle really trip up now and Aston Villa overtake them, thus sending Newcastle into relegation, they have a plethora of players we could really use and probably get on the cheap. Cabaye as our new playmaker (Which'd make me cream myself), Sissoko/Tiote to be a back-up option for defensive midfield, Santon (can play left and right side of defence; good squad player and also had success under Mourinho who may be coming back), Ben Arfa (could be handy for the right side; a more flair-version of Moses who can also play behind the striker), even Coloccini or Mbiwa
  3. Is he even a playmaker? From what I see, although he's a good passer, he's much more like a robust, slower, more decisive Ramires. He's constantly running backwards and forward in pretty much a straight line, winning the ball and also playing neat passes; but I've never seen him as a player who dictates play.
  4. Xabi Alonso + Varane. X. Alonso is picked simply because he's the best playmaker I've ever seen. He may not have the best passing in history, but the fact that he can pass at such a high level and tackle & intercept so well is a mouth-watering prospect. Varane is picked to eventually replace Terry and partner Luiz. I see him as one of the best in the world one day.
  5. I got choked up seeing him today. I'm sad that I'm too young to have seen him play live, but highlights and clips (the very few ones that I can find ) make me feel that had I seen more of him, he'd always pop up rather quickly in my head when asked - "Who are your favourite footballers of all time?". I always feel odd (again, sad for some reason) when I watch interviews etc. from him nowadays, maybe because in the back of my mind I feel he doesn't have much time left, but he's a player who has and always will define Chelsea. Here are some pictures of him from the Swansea City game, both during half-time and after the final whistle:
  6. Luiz has been better than Ferdinand IMO, as have Kompany (just), Nastasic and a scattering of defenders from 'smaller' teams.
  7. Just go all out vs. Tottenham and try win. Then do anything for the wins vs. Villa & Everton, even if it means diving for a penalty or whatever. Do that and we shall be safe.
  8. Does Van Persie suddenly have grey hair?
  9. Luiz has complete the most tackles on the pitch and the 2nd most complete dribbles behind Hazard. That's impressive
  10. I'd bring on Marin for someone now. No idea who. Just feel like we need more pace since Swansea are starting to look tired. Should exploit that.
  11. WE SHOULD SIGN JULIO CESAR AS BACK UP. Or Chris Samba. Or Diakiti. Or Taarabt (think about it... against the small teams he'd be a good back up option. Unless of course his ego poisoned the club.) Or Remy (!!!!!). Surely they'll all be leaving now.
  12. Really hope we kill this off. It'd almost be heartbreaking to drop points at this stage.
  13. Gonna masturbate over that penalty during HT.
  14. Mata always reminds me how idiotic pundits are when they claim Silva is the best attacking-midfielder in the league. Can't believe people still echo that opinion.
  15. WE WANT ANOTHER. WE WANT ANOTHER. WE WANT ANOTHER.
  16. DO THIS SHIT. DO IT. SCORE.
  17. That is what we need more of. If Oscar is more central, like he was for the goal, he's probably our 2nd-biggest goal threat. Shift Mata to the right and play in Oscar more and he *should* score again. Good goal.
  18. That's kinda why I want us to consider him. It would mean there's more chance of Lukaku getting his shot while we also have a top striker for a year or 2 as opposed to Lew/Falcao/Cavani who'd have many, many years ahead of them, likely preventing Lukaku from breaking through.
  19. Then why shouldn't he be subbed off? He's losing possession too much in attacking positions which is leading to Swansea City counter-attacks. Benayoun would retain possession better while Marin would likely offer a more direct threat than he is. We can't keep him on giving him the benefit of the doubt just because he's young and 'adjusting'. We have to do what's best for the team. Another option would be to simply switch around the "3" so he plays central with either Hazard or Mata on the right. Point is - This is a must win game. Regardless who it is, if they're not playing well, being subbed has to be considered.
  20. I'd put Benayoun on for Oscar in the second half unless he picks things up. He's very good with through-balls from a wide position Benayoun. Not worth his wage but he's underrated around here I feel. Would work well with Ba.
