Chelsea's 87th minute corner is now a challenge in Fifa 12. You've got score a goal to tie and then go on to win the game (although it doesn't care if you win in 90, extra time, pens). I'd hate to be a Bayern fan right now. "Sucks that we lost the final but at least I can relax with a game of fifa, maybe do a chall--SUNNOVA!" I can't imagine a single Bayern fan completing that challenge, lol.

I just watched extended highlights again. I have no frickin' idea how I got through the actual game without knowing the outcome. Chelsea were so close to defeat so many times. Their mental toughness cannot be commended enough.

I agree. Torres is finally getting his nose for goal back, and to be honest, looked more dangerous in his 37 minutes of game time than Gomez did in his entire 120'.

well, bayern did manage to pull out a come from behind win in their friendly against holland today. gomez with the winning goal (a tap in, lol). I was wondering how many bayern fans were like, "jesus, why couldn't u have done that a couple days ago?!?!"

Can't be said enough...going the right way 6 out of 6 times is insane. Cech is a freakin' legend. I think that might even one up his save in the FA Cup.

Cahil is a total bawse. He came in to this Chelsea side and fit like a glove. He blocked so many shot I can't even count, throwing his body on the line at every opportunity. And to see him continue playing at a high level in the final even after obviously re-aggravating his hamstring injury is how heroes are born.

World Cup 2006 sure doesn't feel like 6 years ago.

Hoping Torres can have a great year next season. He's been my favorite player overall since 2008 and I want to see him succeed (although it's hard to say that anybody but Drogba was my favorite player this season).

Luiz had a great game I thought defensively. He was a brick wall. His passing could've been better (nobody's perfect). Gave away possession more than a few times. His penalty was amazing. I too feared he would ramos it....but nope, it was the best pen I've seen taken probably ever. Can't wait to see how he does next season.

Good on Drogs. Hope he comes to the MLS and not China so I can see him play in person one day.

It's really sad to see Drogba go (and he's welcome here at the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS anytime, we've still got a designated player spot open ), but it shows me that Chelsea FC is going to do this rebuild the right way. They're not going to hang on to past glory at the expense of the future. Drogba, what a legend. Somebody commission that statue already. Really hoping I can make the trip to Seattle when Chelsea comes here July 18th. All in all, what a weekend.

Really hope Lukaku gets a shot playing somewhere. Last season was such a wasted year of development at a critical age.

The funniest part is how Bayern called it their trophy before they'd even won it. Such a sense of entitlement. I knew at the end of the day it would bite them in the butt. Our Blues had no illusion that they had to work damn hard for that trophy. I said it before the game and I'm so happy to be able to say it again: Will beats skill when skill doesn't have enough will.

After Bayern's first three pens (all goals), I decided a new strategy was needed. I decided to turn my back and not watch. Lo and behold, Cech stopped Olic! So when Schweinsteiger stepped up to take his pen, I knew what had to be done and looked away again. Boom. Schweinsteiger posts it. To all Chelsea fans around the world....you're welcome.

So it turns out starting Bertrand was one of the keys that won us the game. If Torres wasn't brought on late which allowed him to still be fresh, he may not have had the pace to win us that corner. I should say Torres played great today. He did well to get fouled in the box on a pen that wasn't called (which was more of a pen, imo, than the one against Drogba that was called), and on his first touch of the ball he had that great run, was fouled (no call), didn't give up with 2 defenders on him, and managed to get the ball to Lampard (who should've done better on his attempt after all of Torres' effort but it was well blocked).
