Liverpool’s choke job last night has given us a lifeline that was totally unexpected. More or less turns this into a UCL Final level pressure match for us. Legitimately a win or our PL season is over game. Both Villa and United will be completely beyond catching if they win tonight. Liverpool are as inconsistent as we are but at least they have easier fixtures than us.
Let’s see what these players are made of when we desperately need a win. All 3 points for us could cause another monster late season collapse for Villa.

This is going to work out as well as it could in the circumstances. Moises will miss the next two games but be fully rested for the vitaly important Atalanta match. He then serves the final game of his suspension against Cardiff. A fixture there is a good chance he would have been rested for in any case.

Credit to Maresca for the changes but we had no business being so dire against this Forest side in the first half. I am not convinced we have turned a corner until we start to control games with regularity

Agree but on the other hand Cole should have passed to the other wide open KDH when he had his shot blocked on the counter instead. Even though it did not matter the chance wasting today was again frustrating. Can’t have this in the final 

Maresca's "smart thinking" against Flamengo helped us massively and allowed us to build up some real momentum. We can actually dream of making more history after a topsy turvy season.  

good performance overall. Game management and overall tactical and positional play improved throughout the tournament. Ppl may not like Enzoball, it is really not always pretty but you can’t deny the guy has a plan.
 
can’t see us beating real or psg save a miracle but we have played a great tournament overall, earned a ton of cash and hopefully gained a lot of following and fame in the US
