They are both average players indeed, but there were exceptions when players made big step forward by taking chance and commiting themselves. Batshuayi in past seasons here knew he will never play ahead of Costa or Morata regardless of work he puts. Now with ban looming, he has genuine chance to work realy hard from day one and play like its for his life every game next season and rip the rewards. He definately has decent quality but he never put enough determination IMO. Abraham isnt as talented as Batshuayi IMO, but has age on his side. Its realy realy small chance though.

As for being better as a unit after Eden leaves; how can you be sure? To do that, you need others to step up. Poo lost Coutinho and his departure unleashed full potential of Mane, Firmino and Salah. First time he mentioned Eden. When he had first interview, he talked about players he looks forward to play with and he didnt mention Eden at all. Probably the club told him not to bother with mentioning Eden because he wont be here next season.

He has been in english football for 15 years. He is very educated and smart person. Most importantly, he is (ex) football professional who spent majority of his career at Chelsea. He wont be here just to do business part and receive paycheck, but to make us competitve again. Sure he is no Kenyon with big contacts and experiences, but he is Chelsea blue and I'd prefer him over profit oriented business type Marina any day. Id say the more persons like Terry, Lamps, Cech, Ballack, Didi,...return to the club, the better. They will bring back the character to the club. Maybe once in the future, we will need a street wise, clever, experienced DoF, but right now our priority should be to make our board more sensible, which Cech is more than capable of doing. Whoever would buy Ndombele and Aouar would make deal of the century. Both are young, great together, massive potential and proven on top level (CL). I have too much sentiment for RLC and Kante to approve such deal, but if I look just from football perspective and just evaluate who would make us a world beater, both should be sold to give space for Aouar and Ndombele. Those two can make absolute world class midfield in few years. They do this kind of stuff every game
