I think injured player cant help you much. So far, Thiago was injured alot and I wouldnt consider having such player no matter what talent he has.

The point is that you dont need goals or assists to be the best in world. Top scorer yes, but goals arent all. Take a look at CR. All those goals and he only got one la liga title with real madrid. And CL that he played absolute crap in final. I for one dont realy give shit about how many goals certain player scores. I value team work and team contribution over individual stats. Here, Hazard is excelling and that gives him big chance to be best in world once. But people value goals over that and thats whats bothering me. All I will say is that he is far from what you expect from a key playmaker. He isnt mobile, he isnt quick, he isnt agressive, he doesnt hold and shield the ball well, he doesnt chase opponents, he missplaces passes, he cant set tempo under pressure - all that goes for big games. And please stop with injured excuse. Yes he is top player in general, did as much as eden or Costa in road to title, but still, in big games he is one huge shadow of what he can be on best day. He faded bit in second half, but honestly most of the team did. He might have moment or two in big game, but in other 88min he is anonymus. What you expect from someone like Cesc who at 27 years age should be on top of career and with all that experience, he should be consistent, leader, and one to take responsibility in big games and push team forward. But he is far from such player, thats also reason why I hope he wont be captain in future. Long story short, he lacks balls to replace Terry as captain or leader of this team.

You just cant control midfield if your key player is so shit with possesion under pressure. Cesc wa abysmal apart from that involvement for goal.

If you carefuly watch Real Madrid you can see what Isco offers to them. He is extremely skillful player who often tries a trick too much. IMO he when he is on ball, he can do nice stuff with it, but he isnt the one to win matches. Think Cesc here. Both have talent, Isco much more skillful, but not as creative (yet at least). But neither can actualy make difference in bigger games when players need to step up. To backup the statement, thats why Madrid won and played much more balanced with Modric and James. Koke on other hand is typical Mourinho midfielder. Works ass off and does whatever the game requires. If he needs to play 90min as DM, he will do it. But he has fair share of ability to control the tempo (much better than Isco actualy), kinda reminds me of Modric, but obviously not there yet. He is oftenly invisible man, but also one who does enormous work for the team on both ends. I had opinion on Cesc before we signed him that he isnt big game player and it turned kinda right. Take my opinion on Isco and Koke whatever way you like. Thing is that Mou wont let both Hazard and Isco to have free role to express themselves in best way in attack. Koke doesnt suffer if he is given defensive role, while Isco will, despite his workrate. He is first and foremost maestro, while Koke has developed into allround midfielder capable of dirty work. Not to mention Isco in PL, I have my questions while Koke would succeed no doubt. Atletico is already a carbon copy of what a prototypical english side would be. Physical side with long balls, long balls and more long balls. And when Mourinho closes down in big game, what do you want; a dribbler who will try to dribble on his own or set piece specialist like Koke who will feed attackers, make counter attack work etc? Finaly if you think we will buy Isco and suddenly play amazing offensive football, you are dead wrong. This is Mourinho's team and we can see how we play in 2015. Safe as possible as we can. Last year, we had much less creative team, but more efficient, combatative and passionate one. And we came further in CL. Its all about that. Cesc, Isco, Silva and similar players will do fuck all in such competitions. Koke on other hand is not your typical spanish midfielder. He is what Mourinho would call a perfect midfielder for him. People should stop hoping that we buy attractive players and play attractive football because under Mou it will hardly happen. And even if it does, it wont happen in big games. That means complete change of strategy for such games and you will not win CL in 100 years if you will play attacking players to play attractive football for whole season and then suddenly instruct them to play defensive for crucial games of season. It happend this season and we got spanked by psg and put absolutely zero effort. When things go right for us, everyone is doing fine. But when things get bad, most of our team hides. I am pretty sure Isco would dissapear ala Cesc in big games if we decided to park bus which we will do EVERYTIME unless we were chasing the result. When I said Cesc will flop in big games and will hide in key part of season, everyone opposed me. We see now how he played... So why dont we actualy bring a midfielder who is capable of doing both?
