Not all players go to these big clubs. Salah chose Pool when he could go to better club. He is now CL and PL winner. Why? Because they had amazing project with him as key player. We have good project too now and Havertz can either choose to be one of many stars in top team (that will surely decline at one point because no one can be the best consistently) or he can be the main star of very exciting project.

German league has some of the worst defending in top leagues. There is so much space its just funny. Sounds to me whoever wrote this is big fan of Buli and made this quite subjective. There is never ever a player gonna get this much space in England, Spain or Italy as they get in Buli.

Mate we are in transition for the past 10 years. We could rebuild but this board was unfit to do that. Those 100m could do alot or we might buy lot of shite and never win CL. The nature of football is that you develop, reach peak and then those players get older, but they stay and because of that titles are hard to get (look at Barca). You dont win trophies and then go on to sell Pique, Iniesta, xyz to rebuild and win it all again. Its natural and great that key players often stay in the club. It sucks if all are the same age because they stagnate at same time (which in large part happend with our old guard) but if they hit peak at different time, you can comfortably slowly replace them when they retire or move on. But you dont just use them as objects and throw them out when they might start declining. Also Pool could easily replace Henderson, because he was nothing special, yet he has that spirit, leadership and loyalty which pushes team forward in hard moments. Pure quality is not everything in many cases.

Point is we could just keep Matic. It would be the same despite people said it was smart move. If we sell kante because its time to cash in or because he is old? What are we a bank or we want to win trophies? He is useful player, one of the best in the world. The club should invest the money better not sell Kante to cover up for the past fuckups.

We might aswell sell Drogba after his ilness but we didnt and he went on couple great seasons. Bayern could sell Robben but they didnt and he was great for them. We sold Matic for example, but can you realy tell the difference if he stayed? We went on buying Bakayoko, then Jorginho and we still dont have a proper DM. Might as well kept Matic then instead of problems we have now selling Baka and Jorgi. The only time someone good should be sold is if they dont want to be here. Saying oh he will be shite next year, injuries, age etc might fire back. Take a look at Madrid and Makelele.

Unless we actualy bring world class DM and CB, it would be completely idiotic to sell our best defensive player. Yes he is getting on that 30s side, but you usualy dont sell players just because they are getting to that age. Also he had few injuries because he was rushed back too soon IMO. But the fact that we have shite defence has little to do with him. Jorginho and our CBs are often non existing. Alonso is making hotdogs while returing in defence. Wingers dont track back enough. Mount, Kova and Azpi are only ones doing the work. If you place a proper balanced side with good CBs and DM (which is standard if we want to win silverware) Kante will be the key part in the midfield. If we dont bring CB and DM, then we wont be competing for titles, hence its better to at least keep Kante or our defense will be beyond bad. We conceded 20!!! more goals than Pool, City or United this season. I mean people want Kante to be creative and to be DM yada yada. He is best b2b defensive midfielder in the world. Thats his job. Not assisting or scoring, not holding the backline but running around and stop opponents from organising attack. But its hard if you are one man with teammates who cant defend against 10 opponents. Have you been watching how horrendus Rudiger, Zouma, Kepa, Alonso, Jorgi are in defensive actions? David Luiz bad. Its just that they are all so bad it has become a standard and they dont stand out that much anymore when making mistake after mistake.

Isnt Gosens more of a wingback though? Im not too sure about Gaya. In that case we might consider Grimaldo or Theo too. Bottom line is our fullbacks suck for years now. Azpi is good defender and makes some sweet crosses but its clear he is not technical fb with good offensive qualities. Its final time to upgrade that area. There are so many options and if we put all our eggs in attack, I reckon it will be a frustrating season. We might have many high scoring games, but also plenty goals received. And there are teams that will shut us down thanks to the shit defence we have. That said LB wont fix defensive issues, A good GK and CB will.

Tagliafico or Telles are both very affordable and better than Chilwell.

What I love about Chelsea is we give proper love to all our players. There is no bad feelings when they depart. Thats the reason most players who had part here are forever blue even if they joined us in the autmn of their careers or went on to play for bigger clubs in their prime.

Well yes, I meant defence as a whole. Rather see us spend on reliable GK like Kepa rather than Havertz for example. It might not be as exciting signing, but way more important. Then there is also Koulibaly who might be on the move etc. Given Werner, Ziyech, Pulisic, Mount, RLC, Havertz are all versatile and can play on wings, CHO will have limited minutes. Unless he realy performs great in given time, I dont think all of them will get enough of playtime. Sure he will get lets say cup games and odd PL game here and there, but that cant be compared to be in the first 11. If we want him to be one of the best, he has to play as firsz choice which he clearly wont with all these new players around. Look at Sancho and wonders of playing week in week out. Also for a solid team, you need a standard 11 with some quality subs. Thats why Liverpool has CL and City doesnt. Because Pep rotates his entire front line and you cant expect consistency and extra motivation from there, knowing he will bench you the next game.

He will be in rotation maybe but it will be hard for him to be starter. IMO Ziyech and Kai will be prefered on wings in some games even if they are not naturaly a wingers. That leaves CHO getting some playtime but not enough. For him to improve, he needs to play regular footie. As for the age thing, now is the time to play plenty. It makes zero sense to say well in 3 years Ziyech will be 30 and CHO will have his chances. By the age 22, he might just not be that promising if he doesnt play regular football at top level. Just look at Musonda. And in bottom line, it just makes no sense to bring another attacker where we are stacked, while having absolute dogshite defence.

Our backline is crap, but he is our best defender since the break.

If we get Kai, thats a bye bye for CHO. He is never getting any regular playtime if there will be Kai, Ziyech, Werner and Pulisic in the squad. Shame because he could be a super player like CHO. Kai is great talent, but we have so many options, why dont we fix the defence first? LB, CB, GK and even DM are more important than another AM.

Be it here or at City, whoever would have him as holding CM, like the last man infront of their defense will get obliterated by opponents. Unless you are Barca or Pep, it makes no sense to play with someone like that at DM spot. It will be great in couple games, but then it just breaks down. And you cant have unreliable player ir system there. Also because of such unstable system we are ruining players like Kante. He has a very specific role but if you play with the likes of Alonso, Azpi, Jorginho, he is suddenly expected to be creative and stuff. If we had creative fullbacks and proper DM combined with our offensive players, Kante would thrive in such system and so would the team because it would have balance.

Pretty much everyone should take that time to chill off, relax and stop for a while to get some energy. Sure travel wasnt possible, but you could still train, run, bike etc..or do whatever you personaly like under slightly different conditions. And now when corona is over you continue to work, not take another break. Sure everyone for themselves, but I had enough time off during quarantine and will be working this summer too instead of chilling under some coconut palma. Im just saying if you are paid 200k a week you better be in fucking shape when the season starts and be in connection with new teammates on the pitch. But players are spoiled these days. Its funny to me how they needed a water break all the time haha.

These footballers are such pussies these days. Most had 3 months off and now they go on another vacation. Some refused to train etc. Mofos are paid 200k per week for a reason, entertain us.

To me spending 70m which is club record and world record for GK doesnt say it was a panic/quick buy but rather a strong belief he is the one and will develop well. But yes as much this board did some good deals, buying Drinkwater for 40m or Kepa for 70m was a big idiotism. I was surprised we paid that much for him, but his performances were good in the first season and it seemed good purchase. However for that price there is no excuse and he has to deliver. He didnt do that in second season, hence it was a big mistake to buy him.
