  1. wba are short of defensive options as well... good deal for him if he gets premiership experience there
  2. PFA Player's Player of the Year (worst name ever) - Gareth Bale FWA Footballer of the Year (the popularity contest) - Gareth Bale Premier League Player of the Season (actually seemingly goes to the most important and standout player of the year) - Luis Suarez PFA Young Player of the Year (Young overrated and British award) - Steven Caulker
  3. Play Organised Paintball
  4. Cause for Optimism - Almost inadvertently, we end the season very strong 2007 - FA Cup/CL Semi shootout loss 2008 - Carling Cup Final/CL Final 2009 - CL semi/FA Cup 2010 - League/Cup double 2011 - Stormed back into title race but fell short 2012 - Historic 2013 - ?
  5. you came back at the right time probably. that game in the weekend saw Chelsea fight like they haven't done in a long time. hopeful now
  6. credit to Ramires for his performance at OT but yeah. i agree. i wouldn't have him as a definite starter in the pivot. more of a backup option to change the game perhaps with more running from midfield. his goals invariably come from counters - vs Villa, vs Wigan, vs ManU...
  7. In the game against Real, Aspas looked good tbh. Great hold-up play and he's got a brilliant first-touch which is quite handy in a striker. took a touch and hit a spinning finish (which admittedly deflected off Pepe) for the equaliser, but nonetheless, he ran the channels well and linked the Celta attack inspite of being outnumbered he's got a mean left-foot. can shoot from distance and showed that he can bend crosses in as well i don't see him becoming a beast in the Premier League but could be a handy bench option
  8. props to the great away support.. even when 2-0 down, all i could hear was Chelsea fans singing (itv feed)
  9. what would you suggest? go with Lukaku Ba and possibly another backup option?
  10. i think relying on Lukaku for next season is a risky ploy. his first touch isn't great and parts of his game aren't fully developed. he is willing and powerful but going into the season with Ba and Lukaku leaves us short of optionswould love to have atleast 1 more senior striker. Ba, Lukaku, Newsigning and a converted winger as 4th choice if needed. 3 senior strikers are necessary. look at the team this season. tired as hell playing 2 games a week all this depends on the manager ultimately but a proven striker would go a long way into hiding the core problems
  11. a backup goalkeeper is needed if Courtois goes on loan again. wouldn't mind someone like Sorensen or better. maybe a Szczesny like signing from Polish/Belgian/Scandinavian league will do. its sad how the rest of the league has quality backup and we have hilario and trollbullas for the midfield, i think with Lamps leaving, they will strengthen the pivot. just hope its not a Fellaini. Benat and Moutinho are the best options. both have current contracts which expire in 1-2 years and we can force the clubs to cash in Lewandowski and Dzeko - Don't think they'll come here. city won't sell their topscorer to a direct rival and we have competition for Lewa
  12. schurrle part edited. brain-freeze there. i typed in "out and out winger" but couldn't think of a viable player. then settled for Schurrle to add depth and variation to our AM's. about the strikers .even if we play one striker, 4 strikers are probably necessary. city and united have stock options up front this season while we have zip with Torres. ofcourse lukaku or Ba will be like chicharito, not playing frequently but the consequences of not having options up front is greater. Also it gives us further options of a 4-4-2 while throwing the kitchen sink. As much as Lukaku has been a beast this season, i think he still has rough edges in his game. a proven striker makes a big difference as he can win games for the club even if the midfield and backline is utter wank(United this season)
  13. yeah..he was pure gold against City wasn't he?but i agree. he was on the wing then and he is just useless on the wing. kept running into City players all game pivot suits him better
  14. about Benat, his contract runs out in 2014 And i think Betis maybe looking to sell him for less. maybe 10-12 mil.. we should take a look at players whose contract runs out in 2014 or 2015. Benat Lewandowski Moutinho Capoue Gundogan...lot of quality options to pursue
  15. loading talkchelsea on mobile leads to Google playstore. what is tapatalk?
  16. A Regista , Attacking mid, a striker Ins :-Benat (£12m) Schurrle (20m) Cavani (£30m) Total:- £62m Loan Returns - Courtois, de Bruyne, chalobah, lukaku, Outs:- Lampard free, Malouda free, Torres £10m Benayoun £4 Essien £5m Total Recovered :- 20m wouldn't be a bad summer would it? we'd have 4 strikers in the squad - Cavani Ba Lukaku Schurrle
  17. whatever nutterhead decided to go into the season with only 1 (Torres) as our senior striker, probably cost us a title challenge.if city/united play poorly, Aguero/Dzeko/RVP would bail them out. when we play poorly, we drop points. now with Ba we are slightly better but then again, playing twice a week since January is not helping. the squad is simply tired
  18. fellaini had a stinker. don't think we'll sign him after this
  19. one stark difference i think between the two teams - United attackers Rooney, Welbeck, Valencia etc. all track back willingly. our boys Hazard Mata don't. atleast not often. leaves us exposed
  20. edit: i believe in this team though. most of the players had barely any Premier League experience. in 2-3 years, we will improve.
  21. optimistic from my side. i don't want to see us park the bus with Ramires and Bertrand on the wing
