  1. Don't think I've ever seen Leif being so 'anti' towards a player. Suspect there's more going on...
  2. No buy back clause? LOL Won't be surprised if we bid 60m in 3 years' time.
  3. It's not about paranoia or how many trophies has the player led the other club to. The bigger point here is I've never been a fan of selling a player to a direct rival, however useful or useless the player is. Take Matic's case as an example. I mean sure, he's an average player and should never be a first choice starter for us. But he's a decent squad player to have and he can come in to a decent job if needed. Now, we're gonna lose that bit of squad depth and strengthen our rivals' squad depth. The 40m bid for someone like Matic is certainly hard to turn down and if we reinvest that to get someone better, then fine. But then again, this is Chelsea we're talking about here. In any case, that part of "helping" out a rival just doesn't sit well with me.
  4. Chelsea FC - strengthening title rivals - directly or indirectly - since 2011.
  5. I would say yes. Going into the new season with Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek and whoever else from the academy feels risky. It seems Conte trusts Chalobah to do a job but the same can't be said about Loftus-Cheek, who barely got into the matchday squad towards the end of last season and even when he was used, he was playing upfront than in midfield. And we don't know how the others will fare if thrown straight into first team action. We're just 1-2 injuries away to being down with bare bones in midfield. We need a new CM and arguably, we need another creative CM. Surely we can't go with just only 1 in the team again?
  6. Can you be sure though? Even you said "probably". This is Chelsea FC (aka Hollywood FC) we're talking about here. It wouldn't be a shock if the board thinks a midfield of Kante, Fabregas, Bakayoko and Chalobah is enough for next season, just like they thought buying the likes of Baba Rahman, Falcao, Djilobodji would be enough to defend our title.
  7. Where exactly? Tabloids saying the same thing means nothing if they are just quoting one another. There are still talks of Arsenal trying to sort out his contract situation.
  8. Said it before and will say it again - selling to a main rival is just utterly stupid.
  9. There won't be much movement with Sanchez still playing in the Confederations Cup.
  10. As much as those signings strengthen our squad and I don't want to sound greedy here but we really still need to add a right wing back, creative midfielder and another attacking player upfront. Plus, is the strike duo of Lukaku and Batshuayi really enough to challenge on 4 fronts?
  11. Nah. It's Maria. But when it goes wrong, it's Emenalo's fault.
  12. Nike will be happy with the product placement.
  13. And people thought Costa was bad...
  14. Not saying Chalobah is a bad player but Wilkins is making himself look like a fool again with his constant favoritism of English players. His comparison between Lindelof and Keane the other day was embarrassing!
  15. Things will never happen when journalists start putting timeline into their rumours/stories...
  16. Maybe there was nothing wrong in the first place and the media was just making things up.
  17. I wish I know the intricacies...Sky may have people keeping tabs on the transfers. Never said that definitively, did I? But if we are, apart from the 3 aforementioned players, then we are sure doing very well in keeping things quiet very well.
