AVB should not be sacked for Mourinho to return. His failings is good enough of an excuse to be sacked. On Mourinho, I would definitely take him in a heartbeat IF the opportunity comes around.

That. I know people are entitled to their opinions but I find suggestions of playing Luiz in a more advanced position or even playing Torres as a winger rather ridiculous. The reason why Luiz is having so much joy going forward is because he comes forward from the back and feels unpredictable for teams to deal with him. When a team setup against us, their players are usually tasked to mark our front three, midfielders and the full backs as well while leaving our CBs free. IF he was to play in midfield or even upfront, I doubt he will have the impact he's having on the team right now as he will be marked and not given the space. Furthermore, I don't think he has the guile, vision and speed of thought to be playing further forward. In short, don't change something unncessarily if ain't broke. I mean, just look at what Harry is tinkering with Tottenham's approach play at the moment by playing Bale in the hole while benching Lennon when their main strength is the pace and width in wide areas. Instead, Tottenham have played narrow in recent games and have struggled even against Stevenage!
-
He certainly did better than you think. He broke up Bolton's attacks, got forward most of the time and played lots of forward passes, quickly. IF we had made better use of his passes in the final third, you might have noticed his contribution even more. Not the greatest of performance from Lampard but still one of the better ones from him in recent times.

The referee had apparently given the signal to Messi. Referee favoring Barcelona.

OUT 1. Bosingwa 2. Malouda 3. Kalou 4. Drogba 5. Torres 6. Mikel IN 1. Eden Hazard 2. Christian Eriksen 3. Joao Moutinho/Miralem Pjanic 4. Cesar Azpilicueta 5. Giuseppe Rossi 6. Edinson Cavani/Falcao

Wouldn't bet against it.
-
Spurs basically committed suicide like we did by defending high up the pitch, thus leaving a huge amount of space behind the defence and making Walcott look like Messi!
-
I see lots of man love for Luiz in that poll.
-
Spurs will always be Spurs. Forever bottling it when the pressure is on them.
-
Oh dear. Not this again.

Next weekend: Liverpool vs Arsenal West Brom vs Chelsea Newcastle vs Sunderland Tottenham vs Man United Crucial week ahead. Don't quite care how we play, just beat West Brom!
-
Have been pleased with his performances so far. Hope he can only get better for us. And at least he's on the winning side today in a Chelsea vs Bolton fixture considering the latter's history against us.
-
Apparently, he had a hamstring problem and just recovered a couple of days ago(just found out after I posted the question the other day). Hopefully, we get to see him back soon.
-
Thank goodness his 16th consecutive start in all competitions streak was over today! Long it may continue!
-
I know it's only against Bolton(no offence) but great win and great performance. Best game to watch since that Valencia match. Hope we can continue it against West Brom who looked to have picked up their form lately. But for now, I'm just gonna enjoy it and being able to watch the other upcoming matches in peace till next week at least.

I'm gonna puke if Kalou gets a new contract! He has served his time well here but I'm sorry, he needs to go!

Great tactical analysis of the match against Napoli
Jase replied to manco's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Main problem for me is AVB did not play a proper DM in front of the back 4. Both Meireles and Ramires got forward on several occasions and when our attacks break down, Napoli have clear run through the middle on our exposed and backtracking defence. -
Out of those 4, I'll take either Cavani or Falcao. However, being biased here, I would like to see us getting Giuseppe Rossi.
-
Anyone knows what has happened to Romeu? He's not even been in the matchday squad in recent games now!
-
Thought he played very well last night for Marseille against Inter. Offer some attacking threats forward and has a decent shot in him as well. Unleashed two good half volleys and more importantly, he was very solid defensively. For the quoted 12m price in the January transfer window, we should definitely go get him! One of the better RBs around and it's look worthy for the price mentioned! Will certainly suit AVB's style of play better than Ivanovic and Bosingwa.
-
Walcott swap for Sturridge?! Good lord! Are we that desperate?! We need a much more intelligent and all around wide player than the one trick pacey pony in Walcott.
-
Arsenal face Tottenham while Liverpool are in Carling Cup action this weekend. Gotta take advantage of this! Not sure if this match is one for the faint hearted. In the last 3 seasons, we have won this fixture by 1 goal margin and all of them have been nervy wins even we are in a better form heading into those games. With our current form, well, lets just say I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst!
-
I can probably understand if he wants to leave us in the current circumstances where we just don't seem to be heading anywhere at the moment but think I'll literally crack if he really leaves!
-
Luiz was just well... being Luiz the other night. No doubt he has improved in recent games but there's just this thing in him where sometimes, he likes overcomplicate things defensively and ended up leaving the team expose.
