Meh. All Everton, West Brom and Tottenham won in the end. Well, at least we did our job and got the 3 points. We sit in 3rd with 35 points. Tottenham, Everton and West Brom all have 33 points and sit in 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.

Our game in hand is against Southampton at the Bridge. Not sure about both Manchester clubs dropping points against West Brom and Norwich. United play West Brom at OT and can see them doing enough to win that game, as always. Norwich v City is the tricky one though.

Not sure about catching up to United just yet but the 3 points gained was vital in staying in the Top 3/4 especially after Everton and West Brom won as well and the fact that we're facing Everton next at Goodison this Sunday. Feel it's more important focusing on consolidating our place in the Top 3 first by getting the 3 points and pulling away from the chasing pack. If we can catch up to United, then great. If not, no matter. A Top 2 or 3 finish this season with the young squad that we have and closing the gap difference between us and the top last season would be a good achievement.

Wasn't pretty or spectacular but an arguably solid win over a Norwich side who have only lost once at home in the league this season. Happily take the 1-0 win home and run.

Of course if they are gonna to stay, then Cole and Lampard have to take a wage cut but how serious is the club in offering them a contract extension? It's like they don't really bother that much.

Tottenham have announced that they extended Brad Friedel's, a 41 year old, contract till 2014 while our club here wants to dump Cole(32 y/o) and Lampard(34 y/o) when they still have some good use out of the club.

Just because some players are not wanted by their club, it doesn't mean they're all thrash automatically. Some are still quality and probably just need to go to a club that fits them both on and off the pitch.

Other clubs' garbage? Think that is a harsh, especially in this case.

Personally, I would prefer us getting him on loan especially the possibility of paying high wages if we were to buy him. Short term wise, he can be a solution till next summer at the very least. Long term wise though, it could be an issue. No doubt he's still a quality player but I'm just not 100% certain if he's still as quality as before though he might be better and more consistent than Torres at the moment. Arguably, would prefer to us getting a younger ST who is approaching their peak to replace Torres especially that he isn't getting any younger either. Already 28 and wouldn't want to have 2 over 30s strikers with no resale value. Get that younger ST and have Lukaku with possibly another ST would be ideal for the future. True but Benitez might be using his Spanish connections to try and get him.
