  1. Congrats to the members that have won those awards above. And I would also like to thank those that nominated and voted for me in 2 of the voting categories. Appreciate it very much. Also @CHOULO19 only won the 'Best Staff Member' award because of his 'services'. Bloody award fixing scandal!
  2. I would rather complete the job ourselves and not rely on others to screw up OR do the job for us. Getting 1 point might do it but looks unlikely. 3. Chelsea - 72 points (GD +35) 4. Arsenal - 70 points (GD +34) Arsenal could easily beat Newcastle by 2 goals given that they have been in poor form and us drawing Everton then would see us dropping down to 4th and facing an unwanted CL play-off next season. OR worse, we could end up having to face Arsenal in a play-off to decide who finish 3rd if both of us finish with the same points, goal difference and goals scored. Best to just play the strongest team possible, win the game and don't have to worry about others. After all, it's our last home game of the season. Better to end of a high as well after the recent good run of results. And oh, I doubt that team you suggested there would even be able to take a point from this.
  3. By the way, this game is played on the 19th May. One year after winning the Champions League! :cfc:
  4. Erm, that team isn't going to beat Everton and get the 3 points we need to secure 3rd!
  5. Not only that, people are also paranoid that we will go back to play the supposed dull and boring football under Mourinho. He's intelligent and adaptable enough to recognize the kind of players that we have and the playing style that suits us with those players.
  6. Gotta love how most people are already assuming we will face Bayern in the Super Cup. Granted they are the big favorites for the Champions League and look a strong outfit but as I pointed out previously, there is a possibility they might not be as great as now when we play them (if Bayern win the CL) especially when they are still likely to be adjusting towards Guardiola's new approach in the early parts of the next season. And not to mention, Bayern will face a different Chelsea this time.
  7. After we threw away 7 opportunities to win trophies this season, winning this Europa League is absolutely massive. Not just because it's winning a trophy but it will also likely help to banish any doubts and (continue to) breeds in the winning mentality for the players especially those that just joined last summer.
  8. Fair play to Torres last night. Was poor in the first half, just like the rest of the team, but came to life in the second half and was shocked to see he actually got the better of Luisao and Garay, especially for his goal which was very well done, considering how meekly he always looked against similar physical and strong defenders in the Premier League.
  9. Scapegoat? No. The criticisms Cahill got recently has nothing to do whatsoever with his injury or him returning from injury. It has always been a problem of Cahill that he constantly backs off the opposition (there is no need to at times) and only tackle in our own penalty box. That approach has cost us 2 goals in the last 2 games before the EL final last night.
  10. Need to win this game to secure 3rd place and automatic qualification into the Champions League group stage next season. Otherwise, we would finish 4th, which is not wanted, or find ourselves having to face Arsenal in a play-off for 3rd place as stated here, which again is not wanted. Let's win here and end the season on a high. :cfc:
  11. Nice touch from his previous club Marseille.

  16. Jorge Jesus on his pathetic rant again. Bitter bastard! On the brighter side of things...
  17. Can't believe I forgot to mention this but perhaps it was written in the stars for him to score the winner after missing Munich last season.
  18. Err, he did. See the winner's medal on the No.13 fella... Anyway, Mata now has 3 assists in 2 European finals with us!
  19. What a header of a goal! Drogba himself would be proud of that!! And guess he has redeemed himself after that League Cup mistakes...
  20. Fair play to Cahill tonight. Was very worried about him starting tonight after costing us 2 goals in last 2 games but he was solid tonight. Benfica didn't expose his flaws but he did everything well what was asked of him tonight. And my word, that last minute tackle! A match winning challenge!
  21. Did say it doesn't go in line with the club's policy right now. We are currently on a buying young talented players spree and purchasing De Rossi, who is 30 years old, wouldn't make sense if that is anything to go by.
  22. Right...because purchasing a 30 year old goes in line with the club's policy right now. Looks like a BS story.
