Mata in Michael Cox's European Team of the Season... http://www.zonalmarking.net/2013/06/12/european-team-of-the-season-201213/

No. I think you are overrating him too much and I don't think we need him, even if he was available. But anyway, lets just agree to disagree...
-
Long time ago or not, the point is he hasn't fulfilled his potential. It's unfair comparing to Ronaldo yes but again, he hasn't exactly turned into a player that most would have expected him. On his day, he is better than the average winger but that day is far and few between. It's consistency to consistently deliver at the highest level that makes a player good or great and Nani is neither of those. Has the talents but is an average player. And no. It's not Nani doesn't fit into Fergie's system but for the reasons mentioned. He's inconsistent, blows hot and cold and hardly ever delivers what is expected of him.
-
Yes, I know. It was hilarious. But still, the goal originated from Luiz's mistake in the first place.
-
Not denying Isco has got talent and ability but best not to rave so much about his performances in the European U21 Championships. He, after all, has got way more experience than majority out there having played so many games at the top level with Malaga in La Liga and the Champions League.
-
@CHOULO19, Nani is not only inconsistent offensively but inconsistent overall as a player. You will see him perform OK for 2-3 games and then see him go completely missing for the next few games. He touted to be the next world class player, the next Cristiano Ronaldo (similar ilk) and all that but up till now, he hasn't really fulfilled his potential including maximised his talent to stand out from the rest. Even when he's not injured, he's always been in and out of Fergie's squad previously and that itself should already tell its own story about him as a player. Moreover, the fact that United are even thinking of selling Nani should already give you a few hinters on what they think about him. If he's good like you're trying to make him out to be, they would be adamant in keeping him but yet, we keep on hearing these rumours about him being sold and other clubs interested in him. Nani may be one of the traditional wingers left but I wouldn't want another inconsistent and average player in the squad when we've already got a few. And those posts have been moved to here...

Now you're talking... Decent players there you mentioned but not sure how many of them are better than Schurrle especially when you don't really know how much they would cost. And Nani? Really?! NANI?!!
-
They could do with lending those players to Tahiti. Even the playing field a little bit.
-
Being silly I guess but am somewhat nervous waiting for the fixtures to be released. Curious to see who we face. Just hoping it's not some big team, at least not away from home.
-
Funny. Those players you mentioned, we either have bought them or sold them. Get where you're coming but your inability to name a player that is similar to Schurrle right now and cost half of the price we bought him makes your point rather invalid here. You have the point but no name to back it up. We already had that discussion. Won't go into that again...

Spain's bench tonight vs Uruguay: Reina, Valdes, Albiol, Azpilicueta, Monreal, Martínez, Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Navas, Villa, Torres. That bench is just ridiculous!
-
And you also can't forget that our last 2 managers mainly prefers 4-2-3-1 anyway. All fell into place perfectly.
-
Who could we get that is similar to Schurrle for half the price? I agree with the spending 60m on one player part. Don't mind Cavani here but the price is just ridiculous. That's one sticking point but another one is we don't really have other quality options available out there that will suit us. I desperately want to see us buy Lewandowski (for only 30m Euros FFS!) but he seems certain to join Bayern and there's hardly anyone else. (don't come saying Ba-Torres-Lukaku as STs is enough please!) That is unless we get desperate and go for Rooney, Gomez....
-
Guess if we want to spend big, now it's the time to do it when the FFP has not necessarily kicked in to full effect yet. We have already got a young and talented squad that will develop and drive the club forward to more success in many years ahead. Unless we have 1-2 players leaving then, then we don't really have to spend big in any way then. It's just that at this moment, we still need some quality reinforcements, which invariably will cost a bit. Also, it does look like we are in better place than the Manchester clubs and others in the league in terms of having young talented players that will become better and dominate the league in the future. Both look like they will have to continue buying players while we don't.
-
Hence why Gourlay has been busy getting us partnering with other business companies AND having more (draining) pre and post season friendlies!
-
Funny to see so many want Marin out and don't want to give him a chance but then want Kakuta to be given that privelege when their situation is almost identical at the club.
-
Can't help but to think that many have been spoilt watching too much of Mata, Hazard etc. Only 2-3 seasons ago, we were desperately craving for such quality players and now when we got a few of them, people have been dismissive and selective with those players.
-
Ha! Yet more stereotypical views on Luiz.
-
Madness! Naismith's goal for Everton in the last PL game last season?
-
That may be true or may be not. Football agents these days are manipulative and will do whatever it's needed to get what they want, even if they make their client look bad. Would take it with a pinch of salt and don't forget that agents get paid as well. He could already know that he will be paid a lot if he gets Lewandowski to Bayern.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jun/16/psg-tottenham-hotspur-andre-villas-boas AVB getting linked with PSG. Has been going on a bit for the past few days.
-
That was quick of the media to already target Cole... Already want to blow this out of proportion.
-
We should also then praise Benayoun for giving the No.10 shirt to Mata as he wanted it.
-
Not that I wanna doubt what Mourinho said but it's easy for him now to say that the job here has been the only one he wanted in England after all that has happened.
