  1. Some of you lads are overreacting and have been spoilt by Costa's early season form. It's only natural that it drops after some months into the campaign.
  2. Picked up his 5th yellow card today. Will be out against Hull next Saturday. Doubt he'll play any of the next 3 games. So, we are likely to see him back against Stoke in two weeks time.
  3. Apart from his physical prowess, I really don't see why Azpi can't do what Ivanovic does offensively and defensively. Ivanovic is only in the team because of his strength and Mourinho likes to have 3 big centre-backs in the back 4. He's not going to be dropped unless he's suspended or suffers an injury.
  4. Think Styles hit the nail on the head about Cahill. When Cahill is good, he's (just) good. When he's bad, he's really really bad. He's all great when it comes to putting in last minute blocks and challenges to deny goalscoring opportunities but otherwise, he's just average. His positioning is average (just like against the Newcastle second goal today) and don't even get me started on his tendency to back off runners. Feel like I always gonna get heart-attack whenever he's one-on-one with a player. In fact, out of our back 4, the only player I'm confident in those situations is Azpi. Otherwise, it's just painful whenever I see a player run at our defence and the other 3 just back off without putting in any challenge or pressure on the ball (just like the first Newcastle goal today).
  5. How on earth this thread is still so quiet after Ivanovic's atrocious performance against Newcastle is beyond me. I'm sorry but I can't even begin to describe my disgust at his tendency to allow crosses to come in from his side so easily without any pressure. SIX of the 13 goals we conceded in the league this season have come from his side.

  11. Blyth Spartans have knocked Hartlepool United out of the FA Cup! Incredible!!
  12. The club should just email the media outlets our team news rather than holding press conferences if journalists are going to keep on asking the same old boring questions every single week!
  13. That may have affected them against Man City but on the other hand, if you watch the game, you'll see how ridiculous stand-offish they were on Wednesday. Gave City all the time and space to pick a pass, turn and run towards goal and there were hardly any challenges especially for the goals. They have actually, at least in the last few derbies anyway. They have beaten Newcastle in their last 3 league games, a huge improvement compared to the solitary win in 16 matches before that.

  15. Even though Lloris should have done better, glad that Hazard went with power for his goal on Wednesday. Need to continue doing that.

  18. Thibaut Courtois is equally worthy of Manuel Neuer's Ballon d'Or honour
  19. Anyone saw Mourinho's celebration after Remy's goal last night? Was he mocking the Spurs fans? He turned towards the direction where they were and punched the air in delight.
  20. Since you brought in the numbers, Oscar have 4 goals this season, which may be little to you, but if you look a little bit deeper, you'll notice that 3 league goals have all been the opening goal in matches (Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and QPR) and the other one - in the Capital One Cup - was the winner against Bolton. As for Willian, not to belittle his record, two of his goals are somewhat redundant especially the one against Villa - he netted the third to round off the win. Compare the importance of the strikes, you can perhaps understand why Oscar has been getting a tad more praise than Willian. Obviously Oscar can still improve offensively but his goals aside, think he has been doing better than Willian in the final third, such as with the final passes and even shots. Not taking anything for granted just because we have strikers and some other players banging in the goals. Schurrle or Willian, it doesn't matter. Both can still improve and the quicker they do that, the better it will be for us on the right side, either by scoring goals or providing better final passes for others to convert.
  21. Hazard, Costa, Fabregas, Drogba, Remy, Oscar etc that are contributing to our attacks.
  22. He's been spending too much time with Hazard...
