  1. Actually, QPR have the smallest pitch in the Premier League, not West Ham. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2812271/Mauricio-Pochettino-blames-Tottenham-s-small-pitch-s-poor-form.html
  2. When the journalists asked Mourinho about his record of promoting players from the academy (can't remember the exact question but it was something along those lines), he defended himself by mentioning Carlos Alberto at Porto, Santon at Inter Milan and Varane at Real Madrid, the three players he brought in from the academy. The funny thing about that was, only Santon was from the youth system while Carlos Alberto and Varane were bought from Fluminese and Lens respectively. Buying young players and integrating them into the first team can't exactly be considered as 'promoting from the youth academy', can it? Out of the many young players from the academy he gave debut to, Santon was probably only one of the very few who continued to be in the first team after his first senior game. The rest, arguably, were pushed aside and never to be seen much again. If only the journalists had been braver and followed up on that Mourinho response by asking something like this "but those are only three notable players you promoted from the youth academy, what about the rest?".
  3. Jose Mourinho believes Diego Costa is unfairly being booked because referees have a 'certain image' of Chelsea striker Hard to disagree..
  4. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists 'No regrets letting Frank Lampard go - we did it for the future of the club'
  5. He has deleted that tweet and corrected himself.
  6. FML! Spurs have had some of the jammiest luck in the away games this season - battered at West Ham but won there. Didn't even do anything at Villa and Hull but won because the opposition went down to 10 men. Now, hammered at Swansea but still won. Utter joke! United and Spurs have really been getting away with murders this season.
  7. But I heard different things.
  8. How can you be sure? Were you at the stadium??
  9. In no certain order: 1. The passing and finish for the Schurrle goal against Burnley. 2. The rollercoaster of emotion suffered in that crazy 6-3 win at Everton. 3. Fabregas' goal at Crystal Palace. Again, utterly brilliant passing and movement. 4. Coming from behind to beat those Scousers at Anfield.
  10. Indeed. It does feel kinda cringey whenever Cahill says he has improved since joining the club in those one-on-one interviews. Never mind being given the run arounds by Premier League players, at times, he has even struggled to deal with 5th/6th tier players when playing for England against the likes of San Marino, Estonia etc.
  11. Since United kicked off at Southampton, they have had 6 shots and 4 of them have been converted into goals. Either clinical or just lucky.
  12. There were, along with moans and groans, when we kept passing backwards or players misplacing passes.
  13. Good to see Costa finally score again yesterday as it will serve as a confidence boost for him. On another note, he came back from suspension last weekend and he's picked up two bookings in two games. Get 3 more yellow cards and he'll have to sit out for two matches.
  14. They have. 2002/03 Champions League (quarter finals): 1st leg - Juventus 1-1 Barcelona 2nd leg - Barcelona 1-2 Juventus 1990/91 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (semi finals): 1st leg - Barcelona 3-1 Juventus 2nd leg - Juventus 1-0 Barcelona 1985/86 European Champions Clubs' Cup (quarter finals): 1st leg - Barcelona 1-0 Juventus 2nd leg - Juventus 1-1 Barcelona
  15. I wonder what the Hull fans made of Steve Bruce chatting with Mourinho half of the time during the game yesterday. Same thing happened last season and not to mention, Bruce seemingly has a very defeatist mindset when it comes to matches like that.
  16. Can't believe Hazard actually scored with his head! Almost as funny as when Mikel finds the back of the net.
  17. And Gary Taphouse. Those 3 are the best for me.
  18. Honestly, the only thing worse than watching the team perform poorly is to hear Tony Gale talking trash in the commentary. Wouldn't be crazy to say he takes delight and joy whenever we play badly against opposition. Atrocious commentator!
  19. I'm all for players working hard, tracking back, putting challenges in etc but when they don't produce the end product going forward, especially when they are attacking players, it is really infuriating! The number of times Willian lost the ball against Hull (and they were simple passes!) was pathetic and his moves in the final third are predictable - get the ball, stand over it and then suddenly try to beat them with a short burst of pace, which three-quarter of the time, it never works!
  20. Glad to see us beat Hull and get back to winning ways but to say that was a 'sleepy' performance would be an understatement. On the other hand, what on earth were Willian, Cahill and Costa thinking with those dives? Utterly embarrassing! To have Ivanovic diving occasionally is bad enough and now those three are doing it. WTF?!
