  1. Not disputing that but was looking from the perspective of City only, not delving into who they got the points from.
  2. Like actually rest or rotate players a little bit more, like against Sporting Lisbon or even Derby in the League Cup.
  3. Considering Willian is more of a first choice than Schurrle, then it's only normal the former gets more scrutiny.
  4. 1 vs us. 2 vs Leicester. 2 vs Sunderland. 5.
  5. Using 16-17 players is fine and understandable, provided the manager trusts them and manage them well. But the issue right now is that Mouringo isn't doing that with us. He's only like using 12-13 players while almost ignoring the rest.
  6. I don't want to sound like I'm running a campaign against Willian but when he's not being his usual tireless working self in games, like against Spurs, then he's almost like a Torres in the starting XI.
  7. Only player to come out with any credit against Spurs. Can only applaud him for his effort having played all 4 games during this festive period.
  8. It's incredible how Mourinho can turn a blind eye on certain players and yet be so critical of others. I have no issue with his pragmatism whatsoever but at times, he can be too pragmatic for his own good, allowing it to cloud his judgment.
  9. Won't be surprised if Mourinho plays the strongest team, especially coming on the back of a bad defeat and we have a week off after this game.
  10. If Mourinho really meant that, then he needs to have a word with himself. His management of the squad in the last 1-2 months has been questionable to say the least.
  11. Honestly, every time Lampard scores for City, it's like a stab to the heart. Three of his five league goals for them this season have got them 5 extra points, FIVE!
  12. Seems like we are finally paying the price for the lack of rotation in the last 1-2 months, especially in matches that we could rest players (e.g. the Sporting Lisbon match). People may point out the fact that the likes of Schurrle, Salah, Mikel, Luis etc have not been convincing when given the chance to play, which is true but as lionsden pointed out in the previous page, one cannot expect them to just be on form after one game like turning on/off the tap water. The players need consistent run of games or at least play matches that are close to one another, not one here and another one 5-6 games later or even just the last 10 minutes. You can't expect players to build up their rhythm, confidence and form by doing that. Mourinho should perhaps trust some of these squad players more and manage them better.
  13. My god. We sure picked a bloody brilliant way to start 2015, didn't we? Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with this. It was an utterly shambolic display. Only Hazard turned up. The rest went AWOL and the defence and midfield were completely non-existent. To lose a game is one thing, but to concede five is almost unforgivable! Some of the players out there looked jaded and didn't even bother putting in the usual challenges, tackles etc. Paying the price for the lack of rotation in the last 1-2 months, especially in matches when we could do that.

  16. The game against City at the Bridge next month should be fun then...
  17. Not sure about this potential transfer, assuming the rumours are true. Bony's goalscoring record is impressive but he can be a little bit too static inside the penalty box and his overall play is erratic and inconsistent.
  18. 1. Masterclass performance against City in the league back in February 2. Chelsea 6-0 Arsenal 3. The second leg against PSG 4. Beating Liverpool twice at Anfield, including costing them the league title (and of course Gerrard's slip) 5. Torres (finally!) gone from the club
  19. Just be thankful that we don't have to worry about him coming back anymore.
  20. You can make excuses (I mean in a good way) for the two games in Manchester and the one at Liverpool but not sure about the others. Not saying we should be scoring plenty of goals to build up our goal difference but if we don't start getting more clinical in front of goal, then we are always living on a knife edge and giving opposition a chance of getting something against us, especially when we can't even keep clean sheet on the road. Case in point being the game at Newcastle or even Southampton. Not to mention, the more we drop silly points away from home, the more pressure there will be on us to win the home games, because let's face it, we aren't going to win all 19 matches at the Bridge. That is true but like I said to Barbara above, if we don't start taking our chances in front of goal, then we are always going to give opposition a chance of taking something against us. The game at Newcastle is an example - we didn't score from the many opportunities we had in the first half and then got sucker punched, twice, in the second.
  21. Scored 9 goals in our first 2 league away games this season; Netted only 10 in following 8. No back-to-back away wins since August. This is somewhat worrying.
