  1. LEAGUE CUP WINNERS! :blue scalf: It wasn't a brilliant performance but efficient and effective enought to win the game. Plus with City having lost to Liverpool, it has been a good weekend. Must make sure we don't blow things off on Wednesday.
  2. Pellegrini going all 4-4-2 again.....
  3. Imagine if Cahill starts today and scores the winner...
  4. Done. Your login name remains the same.

  6. Big BIG day ahead. We're practically involved in two matches today and for this one, desperately want us to win the League Cup again. It's been too long! Hopefully, the nerves will hold up for the entire game.

  9. He seems to spend more time talking off the pitch than actually 'talking' on it...
  10. Misleading and doesn't really tell the whole story.
  11. Since Reus signed that new contract, he has scored 5 in 5 and Dortmund have won 4 straight league games...
  12. Can't remember. How long do you want your new name to be?
  13. Southampton's bubble finally bursting? 1 win in their last 5 league games and just the 1 goal scored in that run. On the other hand...
  14. It's doable and I don't think they really need to win like 10 of their 11 remaining games to finish in the top 4. Of all the teams above them right now, only Bremen are in good form. The rest are inconsistent. Speaking of Schalke, they really are a RDM side now. Getting more defensive these days and hardly create anything going forward. They were totally hammered by Dortmund in the derby earlier. That 3-0 loss could have been like 10-0. Dortmund had around 30 shots to Schalke's 3.
  15. So? It's still a defensive position and regardless of whether it's at CB or DM, Cahill is still a reactive player and when you've been playing in such manner for years, you're not going to able to turn into the opposite kind of player overnight. Easy to say Cahill needs to do this, he can do that but does he even have the know-how to do a decent job in DM in a big game when he hasn't even always been reliable in his natural position at CB? DYC above certainly pointed out the issues well of playing him in DM.
  16. Easy to say he needs to be aggressive when his natural game is to be reactive. It's almost impossible to change that, especially in such short space of time, when he has been playing that way for 5-10 years. Cahill consistent in blocking shots? Yeah...he only does that when the opposition is just few yards away from the goalkeeper and the target. Otherwise, he's almost useless in that aspect anywhere else.
  17. The only problem is Cahill isn't an aggressive player and one who backs off when a player is running at him. It's been his style for ages. He isn't going to turn into Matic of sorts and start becoming proactive all of a sudden. Not to mention, he's only good at blocking shots when the opposition is like 6 yards from the goal. Otherwise, any player can block shots from distance.

  19. It's time for him to break the duck in cup competitions.
  20. Not so sure about that. We don't really want to see our defensive midfielder back off and off till the point of inviting the opposition to have a free shot at goal now, do we? Cahill is not only a reactive player but also one who isn't necessarily great at reading the game and intercepting the ball.
  21. People want Luis to start (and Azpi move to RB) because Ivanovic is failing to do his primary task as a defender well. It's not that people don't appreciate him, it's just he's made so many basic defensive errors that it's almost justified to drop him. He might have scored some important goals for us this season, I don't deny that, but that doesn't mean he should be getting away scot-free from his mistakes. Nothing wrong with fans wanting him to (at least) buck up defensively.
  22. Waiting for Wenger to comment on this deal in regards to the FFP...
  23. Funny thing is most of Ivanovic's mistakes happen when he's in the position to defend as opposed to being caught out of position by the opposition.
