Well with Mourinho almost but confirmed his coming I was thinking about a player he might bring from Madrid. I know people have said, Varane, Modric and all this. But I think those targets are unrealistic. Madrid is not going to be stupid enough to sell Varane, a young prodigy that has so much potential. And with a posible hiring of Carlo, well Modric is also of the picture as Don Carlo is a big fan of Modric. Thus the only player of quality that I could see Madrid let go is this guy, Coentrao. A lot of Real Madrid fans tell me that he wants to go, and for the right price Chelsea should buy him. His big potential was not fulfill at Madrid, but he still has time in his side to make things work. So as a realistic target, I see this happening more then any other Real Madrid player.

Now that it's about official, I hope that he put to put a stop to all those stupid rumors that he want David Luiz out. I want to hear something similar to like what he said about Drogba. Everyone wants Drogba but they can't have him!
-
Oscar does good at his team and at the club. I still find it mind boggling that some members think KDB is better then Oscar.....
-
Against usa he has been non existent.
-
Any improvement to this season will be good enough for me. Come March and we are fighting for a top 4 it won't look good on the manager.
-
And this is where Mourinho mind has to come to work. What will he do with this great talent? He should probably know how good he is, and weather if he is ready to take over Cech any time soon.
-
After we sold him and now want him back? Are we now like Barcelona paying expensive fees for players we let go? Don't see this happening, he can stay over there in Benfica.
-
I like those last lines. He still has the hunger to succeed, which is good for us. As the last thing we wanted was a shadow of his former self.
-
Yeah well you might have a point there with Pellegrini personality. But I think it's more like a carlo personality that is very diplomatic. And with a team full of ego's that is not that bad. Carlos did good at Chelsea, Milan and psg. Would not be surprised if he does good at madrid either. So that same personality I see it in pellegrini. A nice guy where players would not mind paying for instead of the ass hole personality that was mancini. And i have to say, you are the one person I know of that said that mancini is a good coach.....
-
He certainly didn't manage at Madrid? Well so did Mourinho, so what's your point there? And as far as city doing nothing, I thought I cover that didn't I? That with mancini at the helm every one expected them to under perform. So no point in bringing that up again.
-
Ermmm wrong, the collapse was all due to mancini sorry ass. His horrible man management skills send city into a chaos. I think everyone knew that with mancini at the helm they will under perform. And not to mention as you said they have a better squad and with a better manager they should be a real force. All the while we still got people like Mikel and torres in our team... No one will challenge if come the new season players like that are still around.
-
Pellegrini had done good in Spain. People are not respecting him enough and that's wrong. He did bad in Madrid, but so did Mourinho. Then pellegrini bounce back with Malaga. That's all that a good manager can do after a bad spell, bounce back. Like we are hoping Mourinho will do on his return.
-
This city does not have enough spirit and desire? The same city we could not beat for shit this season? And too soon to come to conclusion against moyes. Wait at least half a season.
-
Looking forward to this. But did people notice how much he aged in madrid? When he first got there till when he left, it looks like he aged 10 years!
-
Anyways, since it seems like you know a lot about La liga cared to share a bit info on Pellegrini here? http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/16176-man-city-next-season/page-2 Since this is Mourinho thread, please discuss in that other thread. Would not mind reading your opinion on their new manager and what are your expectation for him with that squad. Thank you and have a good night.
-
Yes he did bad at Madrid, you made your point and I agreed with it. Time to move on. He now will have his second chance at redemption. If he does bad here too he will be sack, simple as that. Nothing to toss and turn over. So let's just end this and let the people rejoice at the second coming of Mourinho.
-
Well then, I hope you are right. 3 to 4 years of managers stability will be good for starters In that time I hope Mourinho can get the best out of the current crop as you put it. We now have more talented young players then before. And I hope he will continue the progressive vision the club has, to be a more attack minded team.

3 Ligas in 10 years, while Mourinho won 1 league in 3 years...... So if you have 3 managers that where giving 3 years just like Mourinho, they would have each won one league in each of their 3 years tenure. Nothing great for these managers, and nothing great for Mourinho either. And I agree with your last view, if you have a good squad and a good manager you can do good. Barcelona with Pep, Bayern with Jupp, Juventus with Contes. But Pep came out of nowhere. Contes came out of nowhere. Klopp came out of nowhere. So that view, that if Mourinho gets sack cause he does bad and we can't get a good manager is false. There will always be a manager out there that can bring out of the best of a good squad. But for that, we need the board to invest wisely like we have been doing as of late.
-
Well first I totally agree with your first line. 3 to 4 years is a lot in today's modern world. Why? Because of the money that is managed. It's much easier to build a squad in such a short time, then it took before. So most top managers get only that, 3 to 4 years and you will get measured based on that. Second, the players "dream" has nothing to do with history!!!!! Look at Liverpool, much more history then us, and you don't hear that now. Why? Because a player wants to get pay good and challenge to trophies. If Madrid did not had the money or payed good, nobody on earth will dream of playing there. Third, for 10 years achieve nothing? So your telling me that Barcelona won the league for 10 years straight in a row??? Cause the only thing of importance that Mourinho won was a league. So are you saying that past managers never won that? And last good players come whey they are paid good and see that the club is spending on top players. Torres left Liverpool, because Liverpool was not spending big on top players. And because of that he came to Chelsea. Not better, ok. But with RDM we where already going down hill. Humiliated in the super cup, beaten by City...albeit beaten the whole season. Out of the CL group stage, which was pathetic! And leaking goals like nothing, because our team was badly shaped. The trend was down, and Roman did the logical to turn the ship. In the end it work. Was not the best season, but an ok season. And about "the fans who put their hard-earned money into the Chelsea kitty and they deserve to be treated with respect"...well I feel your pain however, there is that big however, the fans are not bold enough to stand to the one guy that makes decision. Roman! Why? Because Roman is the man, and what he says it's what goes. I don't see millions and millions of supporter boycotting, or protesting outside the grounds against Roman. If they don't do that then their voice means nothing, and thus the treated with respect will never happen.

I like some of your comments. But sometimes it does feels like you are trolling. I don't mind people bringing different ideas, even if it's ideas that are against the popular just as long as you have a good argument to back with it. But when you start going all psycho with posting pictures, and insulting people because they don't agree with you it gets weird. Like I said, I don't mind people bringing opinion that are against the popular. Is good food for thought but not the insulting.
-
Like we did recently? Do you mean sacking RDM and hiring Benitez? Was not that bad if you ask me. We finish third place, with the squad improving. We defend better now then when Beniteze got here. So all good me thinks. No good players? Excuse me, but I think you are a bit exaggerating there. The highest turn over of managers comes from Madrid. Yet players "dream" to play there. Managers like to take that challenge because it has a good squad and good pay. Similar to Chelsea, great squad and good pay. All thanks to Roman my man. So yes if team like Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern continue to win trophies despite changing manager and not holding to that ridicules notion of "manager stability" for the sake of it then we will also continue to do that. I will highlight that in these type of environment is where the board must be good, because the board will outlive the manager. And for me the board has been doing great. Emanolo and company can continue being at the club for a lot longer if they continue to make buys like Mata, Courtois, Lukaku, KDB and much more.
-
Celebrate the many trophies Chelsea won over the years with different managers? If so then there is the truth. That managers are dispensable! As long as we got a good squad which our board help us build we will win with a decent manager.
-
It is a horrible time. 3 years with all that money and that's all he could win? And don't come with record breaking league cause a horrible Barcelona just did that this season....
-
Bayern treble. Mourinho time at Madrid compared to jupp at Bayern is horrible. And this come with Bayern changing manager like Chelsea and Madrid does. Stability? Nonsense! Is all about the board building a great team so the manager can manage them and get the best like jupp did. Now time to move on and give chance to another manager. This is the philosophy I see Chelsea following with roman, emanolo and company. Managers are dispensable.

Well there is something else to consider, not every manager can be top for quite a while. Two great example are Wenger and Benitez. Wenger did amazing when he got to Arsenal but as the year went by well you know the story. He over stayed because of sentimental value, like the fan love him, stability and all that nonsense. All that emotions can blind you from the truth, that your manager ain't good no more. And because there is so much emotional connection there is greater support to hold onto a losing cause. Benitez was amazing at valencia and did amazing at the first couple of years at Liverpool. But same like Wenger he went downhill. When people talk about stability they think about saf, and for me that's a misconception. I think saf case was once in a lifetime. We might never see something like that ever again because the sport has changed. So much money involved in the game that I think 3 to 5 years for a manager in a team is a long time. That being said, with Mourinho horrible time at Madrid he needs to hit the ground running on his comeback.
