  1. Yeah, right-backs are still very much comparable to their left side counterparts in terms of pricing so it's better to include them as well. If we take lads like Dani Alves and Fabio Coentrao, we see players who were already world class and very much in their prime at the time of the transfer and then we have Luke Shaw, a kid who only has the potential to be world class one day but there's absolutely no guarantees he will come good. World's gone mad when a club pays nearly a world record amount for an 18-year-old child.
  2. Sure but @zolayes asked who's the most expensive left-back, Alves is a RB.
  3. Real Madrid only paid 5 mil for Carlos back in 97. At the time it was probably a lot of money but these days it's nothing. Think Coentrao might be the most expensive at €30m.
  4. It was a good season in FPL even though in the last few gameweeks I managed to do a Gerrard by letting myself slip into sixth place. Scored 81 points today, more than anyone else in the league, and would have gotten enough to make top3 if I had just dared make Kompany my captain instead of Suarez like I initially planned. Thanks everyone for making it an interesting season. Next year will be my year, we go again.
  5. All three at the same time. Bunch of bottlers the lot, looks like none of the teams in the title race want to win it this year.
  6. Torres' non-celebration on scoring the winner tells us all we need to know, his head is not in it anymore. Would be better for everyone involved if he fucked off.
  7. Happy for the lads, I'm sure they will both be great additions to the moderating team.
  8. http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?matchid=257292∂=sports Says there will be 19 streams available. All bad quality flash streams no doubt, but it's still better than nothing.
  9. Hope City concede early and we see the scousers get all hopeful again, only for City to score the equalizing goal in the dying minutes of the second half.
  10. They're not CL stars. Each of Bayern's stars represent five league titles (24 total so next year they'll add fifth) and Milan have one for their ten titles (18 overall).
  11. It was used in the post-season friendlies against Manchester City.
  12. It's not fair to keep the information only to yourself if you mention it here, the people are demanding answers!
  13. I'd not hesitate to take the Paulinho who plays for Brazil if the top targets aren't available but the fraud who I've seen at Spurs can go fuck himself. Being a failure at Spurs this season might not have been his own fault because he's had to play under two clueless managers who had no idea how to utilize him, not to mention him still adapting to the English game, but there are some major question marks over him so the price would have to be very tempting for us to go after him. Spurs paid £17m for him last summer so something like £10-15m would represent good value IMO. No chance of Levy selling him to us for such a price...
  14. Yeah, can't see a place for him as an attacking midfielder either unless we were to drop one of our current bunch and that would make no sense even if we considered Lavezzi to be better because clearly there are more important areas to improve before splashing another +20m on an attacking midfielder. But if Jose sees him as a striker and would play him as one, there would most certainly be a place for him in the team. The fact he would also be able to play as an AM would only be a bonus then.
  15. Anywhere in the front line. He's played up front, left wing, right wing and behind another striker so he's quite versatile. This guy is class. Not quite convinced if he'd be able to do the job as a lone striker where we'd most likely want him to play but if Mourinho thinks so, I would not question him. If Lukaku goes, Lavezzi wouldn't be the worst choice to get as the 2nd choice striker after someone like Costa.
  16. "A more strictly enforced work permit system that would prevent Premier League sides from having more than two non-EU players." Are they fucking serious? Just need to have a look at the current best players in the league and we see the likes of Suarez, Aguero, Yaya Toure etc. and then we have a good portion of the Brazilian national team. Without players like these the league would be nothing so we might as well say goodbye to the best European players like Hazard and Van Persie as well. I would understand the reasoning if they applied that to lower levels like League One where it would be beneficial for English football that most of the players are, in fact, English but when you want to be the best league in Europe you can't disregard world class players just because of their nationality.
  17. He really seems like a nice person so I can see why some people like him. Still, because of his performances in a Chelsea shirt and the fact him being here is really hurting the club's finances we've passed the point of no-return a couple of years ago already and personally I can't stand the sight of the fucker anymore. Anyway, enough of Torres here. New kit looks nice, although it still won't beat 12/13 for me.
  18. Footballers take pay cuts all the time for the good of their career, it's not the same as me or you being asked to give up half of our wages but still we often see normal people who give up lucrative jobs and just do what makes them happy even if it means earning less money. Even at 80k a week Torres would still make more money in a year than 99,9999% of people earn in a lifetime and he's already filthy rich so if he cares about his own general happiness and that of his family's he should take the financial hit. I think he and his family would be much better off back in Spain, with for example Atletico, but the financial reality in that country is that a club like Atletico simply can't afford to pay him what he currently earns. Look at Kaká, he was on something like €10m a year at Real Madrid but he gave up 60% of that to go back to Milan, the club he loves, and he's clearly doing much better there both on and off the pitch. Sure, Torres could try and extort the club to give him a significant portion of his current wages to accept a move elsewhere but there's always the risk of him pissing off the wrong people and ending up like Malouda.
  19. Considering RvP went for £24m with a year left on his deal at Arsenal I would say Dzeko would cost £20m at most, probably even less. All depends on how much competition there would be for his signature but I think it's pretty clear he won't be renewing and will leave this summer when City can still get at least something for him. He's definitely good enough, showed that at Wolfsburg before signing for City. It's just that at City there has always been way too many forwards (Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli earlier and Aguero, Negredo, Jovetic now) competing for his place so he's rarely got a good run in the team and the minute he performs badly he gets dropped. 25 goals in all competitions this season, pretty impressing considering he's never been first choice for them.
  20. Yep, been saying for a couple of years now he'd be great for us. Only has a year left on his contract so if we wanted him, I'm pretty sure we'd get City to sell him even to a rival and the price shouldn't be too bad either. For some bizarre reason been trying to get rid of him a long time now.
