  1. Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Christensen, Cole; Mikel, Loftus-Cheek; Azpilicueta, Mata, Benayoun; Ba Benayoun Thumbs up for Christensen and Loftus-Cheek though. Azpilicueta at RW, what?
  2. If that's true, I have lost all respect I previously had for Porto. Absolutely disgusting business to rip off Sporting for the +/- 10m they rightfully deserve. Hope Sporting sue those cunts and get what's theirs and more. Hope it's not true though, don't need any more bad publicity for the sport after all the match fixing scandals and everythings.
  3. 3:30 am here too. Not a problem though, being on holiday I'd probably stay up until 6 am anyway,
  4. And for that price I wouldn't sign him, which you would've realized if you had read my earlier post. Better options out there for that price but if he came cheap I wouldn't say no.
  5. Please point out where I said I want him for £20m cause I sure as hell don't see it. Atleti paid €12m for him based on his good form for Galatasaray and while he has been good for them, his value sure hasn't doubled in the two seasons. Less than €15m and I'd say he would be a good signing.
  6. And that means a player is shit? Going by your logic, we should only buy players who are better than Hazard to give us squad depth. Not many players like that available... Hasn't exactly lived up to expectations after moving away from Galatasaray, remember us being linked to him back then and I wanted him but we ended up with Mata, which was more than a fair deal when looking back now. I still rate him but not sure whether he would be a good fit for us, especially if we're getting Schürrle who can mainly plays on the left. Can Arda play well on the right wing? If so, I wouldn't mind having him if the price was right. Good shooting, dribbling and especially crossing, which something our current wingers don't do anywhere near enough and we're going to need someone who can cross the ball well if we're getting a striker like Cavani, Falcao or even Lukaku back. Also good work rate, always tracks back when possession is lost, the same can't be said for some of our current AM's.
  7. £5m is an absolute steal for a player of Vermaelen's quality. If he can stay fit, he's one of the best centre-backs in the league. If Jose thinks we need a new CB, I wouldn't mind taking a cheap punt on Vermaelen. We already have good defenders at the club if he was to be a flop signing but if he played anywhere near as well as he did for Arsenal before 12/13 season, our defence would be the best in the league. It would also piss off the Arsenal fans. Can see Barca going for him. They can't get the likes of Luiz, Hummels, Kompany and they couldn't afford them even if they could so Vermaelen for that price is surely next on the list.
  8. £20-25m, no way he'd ever go for that much. Napoli are in no position to pay Torres' wages so Chelsea would have to compensate for some of the difference in wages for the remainder of the contract, which runs till 2016. The fee would no doubt be less than £15m and most of that would probably go directly to Torres himself as a golden handshake for lost wages. Not particularly a good deal but we can't honestly hope for a better one so I'd bite their hand off for a deal like that, at least we'd get rid of him which would solve a lot of problems. We could then go on and buy a new CF and either recall Lukaku to play second choice with Demba Ba 3rd, or let Lukaku stay on loan and have Ba as backup for another year before finally getting Lukaku back.

  10. Saw him in the Champions League this season and before that a bunch of his games for Turkey, seemed a good goalscorer. Already 28 before the season starts though, so I'm not sure if he's good enough to take the final step to the very highest level when he's only been good for a couple of years as a big fish in a small pond, with all due respect to the Turkish Super Lig. No doubt a gamble which could well pay off but not worth £20m in my opinion, not much room for improvement at his age and there's no guarantees he can keep up a goalscoring record even close to that if he moves away from Turkey.
  11. Same here. Would assume it's okay to use either of them in English. Always clueless when discussing mathematics in English, learnt them all quite well in Finnish but the languages are way too different and most of the time I haven't got the slightest of idea on what the English counterpart for some mathematical stuff is. Should change soon though, starting from September most of our maths and physics at the uni are taught in English so I guess I'll learn at least some of the basics then.
  12. Falcao -> Monaco Cavani -> City Lewandowski -> Bayern Rooney -> PSG / stays at ManU Just started thinking who else we could go for if those moves happen and we miss out on our top targets. How has Leandro Damiao been doing lately? Was very highly rated a while back and was a regular for Brazil but after the Olympics I haven't seen or heard much of him so maybe our Brazilian members could shed some light into him? Had very impressive linkup play together with Oscar at Internacional and Brazil so that would surely help. Valued at around 20m, I would assume? Spurs have been after him for ages so getting him would surely piss them off, that's always a good thing.
  13. Yes, I did. When I look at Hazard the winger I see a lot of similarities to a young CR7. Explosive pace, great dribbling skills and good passing. Not as much of a goalscorer as Ronaldo currently is at the age of 28 and definitely not the same kind of aerial threat but finishing will improve with experience just as it did with Cristiano and Hazard has every attribute needed to become a goalscoring winger like Ronaldo and Bale for example. Then there's of course Hazard the playmaker who plays more centrally and bases his game more on passing and vision rather than beating a man with his tricks and pace. Hazard definitely has the ability to become world class in either one of these roles but at Chelsea, where we already have Mata, Oscar and at the moment even KdB, I would say we don't need Hazard to be the playmaker as much as we need him to be the direct winger who relies on his athleticism and trickery to beat the opponent and score goals. And again on Torres and the myth of the shirt sale income, what makes you think the fans wouldn't just buy a shirt with someone else's name if the ladyboy was gone? The printing itself won't cost much in case you didn't know and I'm quite sure Torres doesn't have millions of fangirls who only support the player and wouldn't buy a Chelsea shirt otherwise if it wasn't for him. Also, from every shirt sold Adidas, the player himself, the tax man and who knows how many other parties will take their fair shares before any money comes to the club itself so there would have to be quite a lot of sales to justify keeping a man with such extortious wages on the club's payroll, not to mention the fact that all financial stuff excluded he is still hurting the club's chances on the pitch by limiting the playing time of Lukaku and making the club wonder whether or not to buy a top striker. I'll admit, he probably paid off a decent chunk of that £50m back in 2011 only on shirt sales because people most likely wouldn't have bought another 10/11 shirt if it wasn't for the flashy new signing but after that I really couldn't care less how many shirts with the printing Torres 9 have been sold because they matter fuck all when thinking about the big picture and just how much this guy has ended up costing the club wih all expenses taken into account, not to mention the amount of shit the club has had to put up with just because they have stuck by this guy. Simply not worth the trouble anymore, no matter how you look at it.
  14. Too early, will post my predictions a couple of weeks before the season starts.
  15. Like Mourinho would sell anyone to Real Madrid, let alone one of our best players. The journalists these days...
  16. So you're saying Mourinho won't like Hazard? That's funny because Hazard's playing style is pretty similar to Cristiano Ronaldo's, although he's not quite at that level just yet. At Real Madrid Mourinho built his team around Ronaldo and gave him a free role in attack so what makes you think he would all of a sudden marginalize Hazard by making him play in a role he's not effective in? If anything, I can easily see Mourinho turning Hazard into the world beater we all know he can become. Moses is safe? So Mourinho likes below average players over better ones? Hell, if I had to guess I'd say Moses would be one of the first players to be dropped from the squad so that better players who Mourinho himself has got would play. I get what point you were trying to make, Moses has great work rate and everything but I can't really see Mourinho liking him because his decision making is horrible. Torres stays just because he used to be good and sells shirts? Are you for real? If anyone would drop Torres and give his place in the team to someone like Lukaku, it's Jose. At Real Madrid he hasn't used Kaká much just because he used to be the best in the world and he cost a shitload of money. And who cares if shirts with Torres9 printing sell a lot? People are reading way too much into the shirt sales because in reality they really don't matter all that much. Most people who buy a shirt with a certain player's name on the back would buy the shirt anyway because it's a Chelsea shirt and if Torres wasn't at the club they would buy it with someone else's name or without any printings. If we're to assume the buyer would buy the shirt regardless of Torres, the FT9 printing itself is what, a few extra quid for the club? The shirt sales argument was valid in 2011 when people who had already bought the 10/11 kit bought another one just because there was a new flashy signing and they just had to have a shirt with his name on the back. Also, I can see players like Hazard and Mata surpassing Torres in shirt sales very soon, if they haven't already. And don't know if it's just me but along I've thought it was Lampard whose name has been selling most shirts?
  17. That's harsh. Paulo is a great guy and even though he hasn't really been needed on the pitch for a few years, he has deserved every bit of the wages he has received, which I would assume haven't even been that high after he's signed a few extensions and agreed to a smaller squad role. He is no doubt one of the most popular figures in the dressing room and he has helped all our new signings settle in faster by making them feel more welcome and showing them how things are done at the club. He has taught the English language to players like Luiz, Ramires, Oscar, Mata etc. and they've all been very thankful for everything Ferreira has done for them despite him being pretty much non-existant as a first team player during the time they've been at the club. You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at Chelsea, being part of the club is so much more than just playing football for two hours every once in a while. I'd estimate Paulo's wages to be between £20-40k for these past few seasons when he hasn't been playing much anymore. Now let's compare that to what important members of the coaching team are earning and you'll realize that this figure isn't even that much when you think about how influential Paulo has been behind the scenes. Saying that a man who has spend nearly a decade at the club and for much of that time been a big part of the team's success doesn't deserve to stay at the club is one of the most disrespectful things I've heard in a long time. Paulo Ferreira, a real gentleman and a Chelsea Legend. I wish him well for the future and I hope we'll some day see him again at the club again in at least some capacity.
  18. Also Courtois, obviously can't compare him to KdB and Lukaku when he's a goalkeeper but he's done extremely well too. Won Atletico Madrid their first Copa del Rey in who knows how long, against local rivals Real Madrid of all teams, and was also voted as the best goalkeeper in the league this season.
  19. Shit just got real when even Torres has come out to say he wants to work with Mourinho. Would have expected him to be the last one to say he would like Jose coming back knowing he will have to either sit on the bench or be sold. Maybe he knows for certain he's coming and now just tries to get in his good graces to avoid the axe.
  20. Nice! For me they were done nearly four weeks ago already, been on holiday ever since.
  21. If our primary targets join other clubs and we're left with second rate options like Mario Gomez, why buy anyone just for the sake of buying? We could just invest the money elsewhere and recall Lukaku. Hell, I'd probably even keep Torres rather than buy Gomez. I'm not saying he's a shit player or anything, in fact I rate him and he's quite a goalscorer, but if the very best players aren't available to us, we're better off trying our luck with Lukaku who's already proven to be a very good player.
  22. €14 a normal price here, which equals to around $18 if I'm not mistaken. Considering the much lower wages and ridiculously high income taxes, going to the cinema is even more steep here than in the US. Being a student there's no way I can afford to watch all the movies I'd like but even so I can't even imagine what it's like for low income families when four people going to the cinema costs a day's net wage.
  23. Sure, I agree that he was quite often brought on as a sub sometime beyond the 70 minute mark when the team was leading by a goal (Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, West Brom, Spurs) and did his fair share of defensive work by running up and down the pitch but most of the time he did so at the expense of some more calm and composed player like Hazard or Oscar who he came to replace and thus the balance of the game almost without exceptions shifted to the opposition. Still I consider him to have done a decent job in those matches and it's not his fault the manager decided it's better to stop playing football and instead try desperately to hang onto the lead. What's the excuse for the rest of the matches? From those 23 games he still started more than half (12) and came on as a substitute for the last 30 minutes or so in the rest (6) when we were drawing or trailing the match. There sure aren't many times I remember him being any good in those 18 matches. As much as we all want to blame Torres for everything like you did a few posts back, how is it anyone other than Victor's own fault that more than half of his crosses fly straight over the line for a goalkick or even a throw-in and the rest of them hit the feet of the defender? To sum up Victor Moses in a few words would be that he is a decent dribbler with shit crossing and finishing. Work rate is good though, so he is a decent option to have on the bench if something new is needed when things are not working out but I simply don't consider him good enough to play more than half of the league matches and we were much better off having Salomon Kalou as the impact sub and occasional starter. He's no Eden Hazard and no one is expecting him to be but to be honest I was still expecting a lot more than what we got in the end. In the Europa League Moses was one of our best players but his form in the league simply put it was not good enough.
