Or maybe he will bring back the old Torres?

Well, there's always Malouda.

How is Lampard overrated when no one outside of Chelsea really rates him and he's always disregarded as scoring only penalties and tap-ins but Beckham on the other hand is somehow universally rated as one of the greatest ever. Hell, even Steven fucking Gerrard is usually rated above Lampard despite there being absolutely nothing that suggests Gerrard is better. All about the media, whoever they decide to rate as a good player the whole world will think is a good player. Lampard: 803 appereances with 243 goals and 205 assists in his club career while always playing in the Premier League. For England he has 95 caps and 28 goals. Beckham: 389 appereances for Manchester United with 85 goals and 82 assists, then off to Real Madrid where he got 155 matches and scored 20 goals and got 33 assists in four years. At LA Galaxy I won't even bother counting his stats because they matter fuck all when he decided to ignore football and go print money in a weaker league in the States at the age of only 31. During those two loan stints at Milan he played a total of 29 games while scoring 2 goals and assisting 7. His club career total at top level amounts to 573 matches played, with 107 goals and 122 assists. For England he played 115 times and scored 17 goals. Now tell me, which one has had the better career? Sure, Beckham got a couple more league titles to his name but tell me with a straight face that Frank Lampard wouldn't have achieved the same if he had played for Manchester United most of his career and I'll politely tell you to fuck off.

Didn't he retire like six years ago?

After the season is over, I'd assume. Hope they award some of those who have played the most with an extra few days holiday and leave them back home. Hoping to see the likes of Lukaku, De Bruyne, McEachran, Chalobah etc. there as well. Maybe if KdB went there and impressed the upper management he wouldn't be sold.

Nic. That's definitely one for the record books, can't see anyone joining that special group anytime soon.

What's not to hate? Anyone see his reaction to Ivanovic's winner today? I couldn't find any, hopefully he was at least as heartbroken as he was on Saturday:

Last game of the season, hope we can win and seal the automatic Champions League group stage qualification. Hope we don't end up with identical points and amount of goals than Arsenal, wouldn't want to face them in a play-off match after the stressfull season we've already had. Anyone know if we'll wear the new kit for this one?

Fuck you Jorge Jesus, that's now two years in a row your team lost to us. It's not luck if our players are simply better and more experienced to winning things than they are. Given the difference in resources and everything, Benfica played really well and got to give them credit for that and I do feel sorry for their fans, especially after what happened to them against Porto last weekend, but Jorge Jesus deserves all the misery he could possibly experience on a football pitch.

When he took over, my minimum expectations were to finish top3 and win at least one of the remaining cup competitions (League Cup, FA Cup or UEL). Now we have sealed top4 with a chance to get the third place if we win on Sunday and brought home the cup I wanted the most so what's not to be happy about. Failure to win the much awaited Club World Cup or even the League Cup is a bit of a disappointnent though, as both of them were definitely there for the taking but I guess winning them all would have been too much to ask. Champions League qualification could have come in a slightly more convincing manner if not for silly points dropped against the bottom teams but doing it the hard way seems to come natural for us and looking back I'm not too disappointed with the way this season has gone. Thanks Rafa, but now it's time to make way for The Special One. Good luck to Napoli or wherever.

Brilliant. My pick of the bunch:

Mata too. Torres has two European Championships though, Mata only one.

After Ramires won the corner, somehow I just knew we had won it. Was predicting Luiz to be the scorer because of all his Benfica connections but happy it was Ivanovic. He deserved this after missing out on the Champions League final last season following his heroic actions in the semis.

Gary deserves a lot of credit for today but also deserved all the stick he got from Spurs & Villa. More than fair to criticize a player when he plays bad, but got to remember the good times too and today Gary played one of his best games of the season. Well done!

By the way, I predicted the scoreline and Torres scoring the first goal in the prediction league. Do I get a cookie?

What a feeling again, never a dull moment being a Chelsea supporter. Not particularly a good season but out of nowhere the team still manages to win a trophy and the season ends with a high. Happens most years, take note Arsenal. There's no way Hazard was sober when the boys lifted the trophy, must have had a few drinks during the game.
-
Maybe Monaco would fancy Torres too? After 22 goals this season and important goals during our Europa League run, I'd say 25m is a fair price for them.
-
Or maybe Moses is just not fit enough to start the game and we simply had no other options to take on the bench and even a half fit Moses is better than naming only six subs. Benfica's left winger is Rodrigo, if I'm not mistaken. Or Eduardo Salvio if Rodrigo plays up front.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, we have offered Roma €12m for De Rossi. Can't see such a transfer happening, especially with the way he snubbed Manchester City last year, but a player like him would be amazing for our midfield. Turning 30 in July but still plenty of years left at top level. PSG and again Man City also rumored to be interested. edit: Seconds too late, damn you @xPetrCechx

True, Cahill shouldn't play because of his poor form but we may not have a choice. Terry is injured and too many midfielders injured as well which mean we probably need Luiz to play there. If it's true that Moses is injured too, we're going to have the weakest bench we've had all season. No strikers and hardly any midfielders. Attacking-wise our only available substitutes may end up being Benayoun and Marin, who hasn't played in ages. Can see Romeu making the bench today and he could be set to play his first game in over five months in a cup final.

2009? I know this nightmare we've had with the ladyboy seems like a lifetime but it's only been two and a half years.
