That is another thing I mentioned in pre season. He looked even more comfortable in the middle for me. His dribbling was top notch through the middle and he seemed to play more direct.
-
Disagree. The one-two he created with Michy... The Ronaldo chop, that help him cut outside and send a runner through the middle. His goal... The ball over the top from Fabs... He turned his player inside out a few times and was greeted with more simply due to being that good. You're almost penalising him for being poised, bracing or squaring up and taking contact. He played smart. He played against team that had a lot of numbers behind the ball.
-
A lot weren't impressed with his performance against the Spurs, but you could see the brute strength and ability to carry the ball, even if it wasn't his cleanest game. He is a weapon. Yaya Toure in his prime, plus more is his potential. I know it is pointless to dwell, but imagine having a player like KDB in front of Kante and Baka, and then having Hazard and Morata up front... All bases covered, and an extremely physical team.
-
I think he started off a little bit in the wrong way in terms of physicality. He went down far too easily and now he is not getting any calls. More than half of what wasn't called yesterday were fouls, but he has set a standard with how easily he goes down so more are looked at as dubious. The referee yesterday was clearly incompetent, but Morata has plenty to work on.
-
I think I'll blame the ref on this one. If he didn't have money on the game, I'd be shocked.
-
No red for mouthing off ref? Of course. No double standard at all.
-
That tackle is 90% the refs fault. You let niggly challenges like that go all game. There is a reason Morata is mouthing you off you prick.
-
This ref is having a laugh. Everything is a foul for them.
-
Can't believe he is staying on the ground pretending his face got hit. We have instant replay mate...
-
Agreed. That little flick over the head of the defender he did, then got body checked wasn't called... I was sitting there in disbelief. It was almost an intentional take and the ref didn't call it...
-
Cahill, Azpi and Willian have been absolute trash. Some of you will sit there and defend him given all the great performances he has put in for us, but Azpi has been shocking this whole season. Willian is useless this game for whatever reason. Bring on Hazard for him. And Fabs needs to sit on the bench the rest of the game. Getting overrun.
-
I mentioned it when he came on last game as well. He will get there. He always does. Even with him being out of shape, he looked a different class against Leciester. You can tell immediately he is the best player on the pitch.
-
Mindset is everything when it comes to two similar talents. Can definitely succeed in a big way where Cuadrado didn't.
-
He was out of position several times. A lot of their better attacks came from his side. I wasn't too impressed and I was one who wanted him here. Best rb in the league? Sure after 1 game... Lol. Zappacosta had a better game in his first CL game. Best rb in the league. That how it works? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

He was pretty bad actually. Looked shocking defensively.

After our Champions League game rumour has it that Conte has permanently dropped Morata to bench duties, and Michy will be starting most games from now. Reports are saying Conte is furious Morata refuses to use his feet.
-
Would be stoked if we sent him over and possibly got Correa back along with a bunch of cash. They have some talented attacking options, so we may as well try to poach something off them. Obviously Griez would be the hardest to get over, but Correa is extremely talented and could quite easily turn out even better. Getting a young attacking gun would be an immense piece of work by the board.
-
I have been impressed with him every time he has stepped on the pitch for us so far. At times he came on in bad situations with all the red cards we have gotten lately, and even when he was forced to play more centrally and defensively, he impressed. Obviously being a young player, I don't expect his end product to be up to scratch like some of the long standing players here, but he offers directness which someone like Willian at times can be frustrating with. He definitely has a spot in the team. Hope he gets his chance to shine tomorrow.
-
It'd be interesting if we could get some kind of swap with Costa. I'm not his biggest fan, and I think he is a bit overrated, but him in the line up would be good to watch I think. Griezmann ------- Morata Hazard Alonso --- Baka--- Kante --- Moses Rudiger- ---- Luiz ------ Azpi Courtois Fix up the wingbacks, and I feel we'd be world class at every single position.

After everyone thinking it was all doom and gloom after our first game, we are third on the table and just a point behind our media declared biggest rivals for the title this season. All this after having a much harder schedule so far than the two ahead of us. I've mentioned that I haven't been too impressed by either of the Manchester teams. Of course they are great, but I don't think they look as good as everyone is making them out to be. If Conte had those squads at his disposal, I'd be worried, but I think Jose is past it, and Guardiola will keep spending until he wins a title. I think on paper they both have teams better than ours, but are missing some key pieces that help you win certain games.
-
I'd disagree with best player. He has made a few mistakes. I don't rate Cahill, but I really don't think Zouma is Chelsea level either.
-
He looked a bit port too. Haha. Maybe it is the white kit, but hopefully he burns that off season fat off and can turn on the jets in those tight spaces to score some awesome goals. He did look great today though. His touch and tight ball control are something else. Not just in comparison to players in our team or league, but almost any player in the world.
-
I honestly think some of you are overreacting. You can't expect all pieces to click straight away, and I think a lot of them are clicking already in fact. A lot of the work is done when the camera isn't on the player as well. He caused Leicester a lot of trouble. Had a few good chances, but Morgan today was throwing himself at everything, and in this case, somehow managed to get one of his limbs behind nearly every shot. The game in general was quite sloppy, so some of the service coming to him wasn't great. As usual, Willian messed up a few balls that could have gone to him, and Baka messed up the counter attack with a terribly slow ball that got picked off. A better pass, and he is through on goal for another one. I've seen this kind of talk with every single one of our strikers in the past. Costa got it obviously. Even Drogs. They're doing plenty out there, and if they're scoring, they're doing fine. 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. Not even 4 full games... If we were going to look at those numbers objectively, any way you cut it, he is flying. Speaks volumes about him and his potential as a player.
-
He can keep being bad if he keeps scoring all these important goals. Also some of us clearly have a different definition.
-
We did everything we could to lose that game at the end. Saying that, absolute joke of a performance by the referee. how many clear cut fouls do you miss? And how on earth do you see any contact on Vardy, but then miss a clear cut handball in a much better position for yourself and your assistant? Honestly. Bakayoko was immense today. Amazing runs from the back. MOTM for me. Pedro and Willian were both frustrating. Hazard was great when he came on. He is clearly a different class. David Luiz was a rock as usual. Cesc was woeful. Morata did his job, and made a bunch of great runs. He is ambitious going forward, and tries things, which I think will be a good thing going forward with Hazard in the line up. Could see some really pretty goals. Zappacosta can play. He looked tactically out of place a lot of times, but he can get up and down, and looks to have a good ball control when running. Had a few bad touches, but it is his first game. Think his feel for our system will come with more play time. Lastly, Kante was himself aside from 3 or so moments. Very unlike him, but we are all human. Once again, the ref can go do one. Absolute scumbag.
