  1. After everyone thinking it was all doom and gloom after our first game, we are third on the table and just a point behind our media declared biggest rivals for the title this season. All this after having a much harder schedule so far than the two ahead of us. I've mentioned that I haven't been too impressed by either of the Manchester teams. Of course they are great, but I don't think they look as good as everyone is making them out to be. If Conte had those squads at his disposal, I'd be worried, but I think Jose is past it, and Guardiola will keep spending until he wins a title. I think on paper they both have teams better than ours, but are missing some key pieces that help you win certain games.
  2. I'd disagree with best player. He has made a few mistakes. I don't rate Cahill, but I really don't think Zouma is Chelsea level either.
  3. He looked a bit port too. Haha. Maybe it is the white kit, but hopefully he burns that off season fat off and can turn on the jets in those tight spaces to score some awesome goals. He did look great today though. His touch and tight ball control are something else. Not just in comparison to players in our team or league, but almost any player in the world.
  4. I honestly think some of you are overreacting. You can't expect all pieces to click straight away, and I think a lot of them are clicking already in fact. A lot of the work is done when the camera isn't on the player as well. He caused Leicester a lot of trouble. Had a few good chances, but Morgan today was throwing himself at everything, and in this case, somehow managed to get one of his limbs behind nearly every shot. The game in general was quite sloppy, so some of the service coming to him wasn't great. As usual, Willian messed up a few balls that could have gone to him, and Baka messed up the counter attack with a terribly slow ball that got picked off. A better pass, and he is through on goal for another one. I've seen this kind of talk with every single one of our strikers in the past. Costa got it obviously. Even Drogs. They're doing plenty out there, and if they're scoring, they're doing fine. 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. Not even 4 full games... If we were going to look at those numbers objectively, any way you cut it, he is flying. Speaks volumes about him and his potential as a player.
  5. He can keep being bad if he keeps scoring all these important goals. Also some of us clearly have a different definition.
  6. We did everything we could to lose that game at the end. Saying that, absolute joke of a performance by the referee. how many clear cut fouls do you miss? And how on earth do you see any contact on Vardy, but then miss a clear cut handball in a much better position for yourself and your assistant? Honestly. Bakayoko was immense today. Amazing runs from the back. MOTM for me. Pedro and Willian were both frustrating. Hazard was great when he came on. He is clearly a different class. David Luiz was a rock as usual. Cesc was woeful. Morata did his job, and made a bunch of great runs. He is ambitious going forward, and tries things, which I think will be a good thing going forward with Hazard in the line up. Could see some really pretty goals. Zappacosta can play. He looked tactically out of place a lot of times, but he can get up and down, and looks to have a good ball control when running. Had a few bad touches, but it is his first game. Think his feel for our system will come with more play time. Lastly, Kante was himself aside from 3 or so moments. Very unlike him, but we are all human. Once again, the ref can go do one. Absolute scumbag.
  7. If that was Bakayoko who went down in the box, he would have got a red for diving.
  8. Baka has been absolutely shafted with calls. Got held back just before our second, with a player clearly tugging his shirt to stop the run and the ref still didn't call it. The player literally took a foul, and he didn't call it. My god the refs are useless at times.
  9. Bakayoko has been beastly. How good is this guy at getting the ball and running at the opposition? Every time he storms forward I want him to keep going, but he ends up passing it after shrugging 2 or 3 off. Exciting game, but our passes into the box have been terrible. Moses always seems to think that the low driven across the box is the best option. Lob the ball up sometimes mate. Cesc has been horrid with his delivery from wide areas too.
  10. This guy doesn't have to kick the ball... lol. 3 goals... 3 headers. 2 assists... both by headers. lol
  11. If that was a Tottenham player hitting a Chelsea player in the face like that, the ref might have thought about a yellow.
  12. I honestly think he is a better player. Not that Costa isn't a great striker, Morata is just so much more well rounded. Funnily enough I find it hilarious some of the commentators have mentioned Costa's hold up play being better...
  13. Completely agree about Chalobah. I was always impressed when watching him play. Mobile, tall, and quick midfielder, who gives you a bit of flash, and works hard.
  14. I'll say it again, but people really hammer into these players as soon as they get into the bad book. He was quite good against Everton when he came on, and even then people found the 1 or 2 small errors and made it seem like the worst thing ever. Kid is hungry and wanting to do well. Not to mention stayed, and wants to fight for his position. It is the same people who are never satisfied. He leaves - "oh he didn't want to fight for his position". He stays - "oh, he is shit, he can't make it here. Needs to go!". Good on him for staying. He most definitely is good enough. Had a bad start after a good pre season. He knows he has played poorly, and judging by the Everton game, he is working hard to improve. Complain all you want, but he is here until January at the very least.
  15. Not sure if this has been pointed out, but this bloke hasn't really done anything with his feet since getting here. lol... 2 goals - headers... 2 assists - with his head. 1 big missed opportunity in the Spurs game - a header. Imagine once he actually starts kicking the thing. He has been going easy on the league.
  16. Yeah, he is a far better runner and dribbler than Matic. Away with you.
  17. Eh. No way I take Diego in front of goal over Ronaldo. That stat can say what it wants. Misleading. Diego botches so many chances before the shot occurs. He finishes a lot of easy ones, but at times he fails to get a shot off or over dribbles really easy ones.
  18. Buy up their entire league, hence at the same time eliminate any competition in their league? Effective method for winning league titles every year.
  19. We have Kante, Bakayoko and Cesc, who are all capable starters given the team. Drinkwater secures things in the middle if we do get any injuries. Who did you want there? A world class signing? Then Bakayoko and Cesc get upset as their game time goes down and we are left in a situation where we are selling again.
  20. I'm off to bed. Someone like or quote this several times if we sign Mahrez, so I can wake up from the notifications on my phone and celebrate.
  21. I honestly hope we're all pleasantly surprised, but I highly doubt it. Even if we do get Mahrez... does it strengthen us? Unless you play Willian in the middle, which I actually prefer him at. Mahrez, Drinkwater and another squad player would be great.
  22. How utterly disappointing... I legitimately thought there is no way we don't sign some more players to sure up the team... But, here we are. Close to deadline, and nothing near to being close, or on the verge of. The closest we got was Oxlade, and he ended up going to Liverpool. Our team is so short-manned that we are relying on a number of players being able to play a variety of different positions. What happens when one gets injured? I wasn't hoping for much. I honestly think we can compete for the league by signing Drinkwater and a wing back option. Yet, nothing. Absolutely nothing. Going to be really fun playing all these different competitions. Actually, I take that back. We'll be out of them in no time with our depth. I guess just focus everything on the PL again and forget about CL.
  23. He has been pretty bad the last two games. His first bad patch in god knows how long. Guess even the super consistent can have a spell. No doubt he will get back to his best in no time. Best one on one defender in the league.
  24. He still isn't very sure at the back. And it is mainly to do with pace. He gets the ball pushed around him at times, and the quick wingers just go around the other side. Doesn't fill you with confidence. Great in attack though.
